Chapter 400
Always Been Yours
Chapter 400 Unwanted Visit âWhat is that?â
Andrew looked at where she was looking and saw the herbs Timothy sent here earlier. He omitted some details in his answer. âItâs something Miss Reinhart left. They can relieve the masterâs pain.â He knew itâd be a hassle if Hayley found out that Tessa asked her brother to send the herbs here.
Disgust welled in her eyes after she heard that and she said without hesitation, âYou canât let Nicholas use dodgy stuff like that. Throw them away. Iâve practised my acupuncture. I can help him with his condition.â
Nicholas came back just in time to hear that, and the air around him dropped three degrees. âThank you, Miss Stone, but I donât need it.â
Shocked, Hayley quickly turned around, and she saw Nicholas standing at the porch, the sun shining on him from behind and the air around him tense. Obviously, what she said earlier angered him. âCalm down, Nicholas. Iâm just worried about you.â She tried to explain herself, but to no avail.
Nicholas looked at her coolly. âYouâre not worth getting angry over. Donât think too highly of yourself,â he answered, his voice monotonous.
Hayley suffocated, and her heart felt like it was crushed.
Nicholas continued coldly, âAnd you do not own this place, so donât touch my stuff. Send her away, Andrew. Donât let her in without my permission in the future.â
Andrew shook his head silently and asked Hayley to go with him. âCome with me, Miss Stone.â
Hayley stared at Nicholas, sadness welling up within her. In the end, she had no choice but to leave.
Nero and Sonia were talking to Maxwell back at home, and they were surprised to see Hayley coming back so soon. âHayley, I thought youâre going to have an acupuncture session with Nicholas. Why are you back so soon?â
Hayley was reminded of how she got chased out, and she burst into tears, much to the Stonesâ shock.
âWhy are you crying? Did he hurt you?â Sonia quickly handed a tissue to her, and the men looked at her with concern.
Hayley told them what happened through sobs. âHow could he say that to me? Even if Miss Reinhart did send those herbs, I was just worried that it might hurt him. I didnât mean to attack her or anything.â
The Stones felt heartbroken. They never thought Nicholas still missed Tessa to the point that he wouldnât allow anyone to touch her stuff.
âDad, Nicholas went too far. He canât insult Hayley like this!â Sonia complained angrily.
Nero wasnât too happy either, but he was worried about something else. âIf Nicholas wonât accept Hayley, the company will fall.â
Maxwell thought about it for a moment and answered cunningly, âIâll handle it.â
â¦
Maxwell went to the hospital early the next morning. He made small talk with Remus for a while before he cut to the chase. âWhy donât we cancel this engagement, Remus? Hayleyâs my granddaughter, but Nicholas has been bullying her even before she got married to him.â He then told Remus about what happened at Dynasty Gardens yesterday.
Remus was furious when he heard that, but it wasnât the time to fly into a rage. He wanted to calm Maxwell down first.
