Chapter 550
Always Been Yours
Angus nodded before looking at Tessa inquisitively. âIâm a little curious. How did you end up performing here?â
âI just wanted to look for a place to train myself. I hadnât expected to see you here, Mr. Angus,â Tessa smiled as she explained herself. When Angus saw the girlâs sweet smile, he froze for a moment. Then, a look flashed across his eyes for a moment.
âYour performance was amazing just now. I felt hypnotized by it.â He didnât hold back with his compliments.
âYouâre being too nice, Mr. Angus,â Tessa said humbly. But then, she realized that the people around them were giving them curious looks. Since she didnât like being observed by others, she suggested, âWould you like to continue with your meal, Mr. Angus?â
âNo. I finished eating a while ago I was just waiting for your performance,â he explained. He realized that Tessa didnât seem comfortable with the attention she was getting, so he asked, âWhy donât we talk at the back of the restaurant?â Tessa couldnât bring herself to reject him, so she nodded in agreement.
They headed to the corridor near the kitchen to chat for a while. Midway through their chat, Wilbur walked over to them. Unfortunately, the angle he came from made it hard for him to see Angus-he only saw Tessaâs figure on her own. âWhat are you doing here, Miss Reinhart?â Wilbur asked puzzledly.
When he got closer to Tessa, he realized another attractive man was standing in front of her. âThis isâ¦â
âThis is a friend of mine. I bumped into him in the restaurant earlier.â Tessa introduced Angus to Wilbur, and Wilbur gave Angus a polite nod. âYou should get off work since you just bumped into your friend, Miss Reinhart.â
âYeah. Iâll leave in a while,â she replied with a smile.
Wilbur glanced at the two other people before giving them a kind smile. âYou guys can continue chatting. Iâll head off now.â A while after Wilbur left, Angus made a suggestion. âWhy donât I send you home, Miss Reinhart?â
âI donât think thatâs a good idea. I havenât even gotten a chance to thank you for helping me find the materials for my violin, Mr. Angus. I wouldnât want to trouble you again.â She rejected him with a smile on her face.
I Angusâs eyes twinkled for a moment before he spoke in a casual tone. âWell, thatâs easy. Itâs still early, and itâs such a coincidence for us to meet each other here. Why donât you buy me a cup of coffee if you want to thank me?â
Tessa couldnât reject him after what he said, so she nodded and led him to a café near the restaurant.
Both of them sat by the window, and their stunning appearances attracted several looks from the passersby outside. However, both of them didnât seem to care. Tessa, in particular, was too focused on Angusâs unique explanations of music theory to care about anything else.
Both of them got to know each other much better through the topic of music. âEarlier, you mentioned that youâre a doctor. Iâm curious-arenât doctors usually very busy? How do you have so much free time to research your other hobbies?â
Tessa held onto her coffee cup as she gazed at the handsome many sitting in front of her. Angus gave her a brief explanation of his situation upon hearing her question. âI guess itâs mostly because Iâm smart,â he uttered in a playful tone. âI got my Ph.D. at a really young age, so I had a lot of spare time to invest in my other hobbies.â
Tessa was shocked. She hadnât expected Angus to be such an impressive individual. He obtained his Ph.D. at a young age and even received prizes on international stages.
Both Tessa and Angus chatted for another hour in the quiet café, and the skies outside began to turn dark.
Right then, Tessa gazed at the time to realize that it was nearly 10.00 PM. She suggested that they head home. âI should go home now,â she said.
âLet me send you back.â Angus offered to send her home again. However, he was rejected once more.
âItâs fine; Iâll just call a cab.â
Angus wanted to further convince her, but she was too firm on her stance, so he couldnât do much about it.
