Chapter 607
Always Been Yours
As Lacob expected. Hayley was wavered by the last thing he said. If she were given a chance, she would definitely like to take care of Tossa, that bitch herself!
Nevertheless, Tessa was in the dark about all of these, and after Nicholas was gone, she packed her davs full to the point that she had asked for several days of leave consecutively in order to better rehearse with her bandmates.
One afiernoon while everyone was taking a break, Mona came to look for Tessa.
She directly took a seat beside Tessa as she asked, âTessa, my cousin would like to ask if youâll still be performing at the restaurant.â
Tessa didnât give her an immediate response. In fact, she was also considering whether she should continue with her performance at the restaurant. But, on the other hand, she didnât have that much ume to spare anymore.
âMona, if possible, I would like to resign from this job. As you know, Iâm busy with rehearsals every day and donât have the energy to perform at your cousinâs workplace.â
Surprisingly, Mona nodded in understanding before she continued, âItâs fine. Iâm just asking on his behalf. He could already guess your answer, but he just feels itâs a shame. So, he told me a second option and wants to know what you think about it.â
âWhat is it?â she asked, looking at her good friend quizzically.
âIf youâre agreeable, Wilbur said that you can change your performance timings to a few times in a month, and your wages will still be the same. He even said that a few guests were waiting in vain for you for days,â she said truthfully and couldnât help but burst into a giggle at the end of her sentence.
For some unknown reason, she felt pity for those guests.
Tessa giggled along as well, feeling a sense of achievement. Wasnât it a recognition of her talent that she was able to make the guests fall in love with her music?
After some consideration, she answered, âIf Wilbur is alright with this idea, then Iâm fine with it as well.â
âThatâs more than he could ask for. Of course, heâs okay with it.â Then, she stood up and waved goodbye at Tessa. âConunue with your practice. Iâll relay your answer to him.â
That night after rehearsal, Tessa planned to make a trip to the restaurant lo apologize to Wilbur personally. After all, he had taken good care of her when she started performing at the restaurant.
When Wilbur found out the reason behind her visit, he chuckled nonchalantly. âItâs fine. This is not a big deal.â
âEven so, I still have to apologize to you. The original agreement was a performance every day, but it became once every two days, and now, itâs a few times a month. I feel terrible about it.â
âYou donât have to take all these to heart. Speaking of which, our restaurant is the one that benefited from you. Now, our business is getting better, and there are even many foreign guests who came here because of you,â Wilbur said, sharing the current situation of the restaurant with her.
Aliuie surprised, Tessa didnât even think that foreign guests would be coming because of her.
Seeing the surprised look on her, Wilbur laughed and said, âWhat? You donât believe me?â
âI just think itâs a little exaggerated.â
âNot at all. In the afternoon, after Mona told me that youâre willing to come a few times a month, I discussed it with the owner, planning to make the tables on days when youâre performing as reservations only. This idea turned out to be a big hit, and the tables were all booked within an hour.â
After listening to him, Tessa was even more stunned, but she quickly felt calm about it.
Then, they spoke for a little longer, and he suddenly said with a smile, âSince youâre already here today, would you like to perform a song as well? A lot of people are waiting for you outside.â
Since Iâm already here, Iâll perform tonight, she thought. âIâll have to trouble you to arrange a time for my performance, Wilbur.â
Wilbur grinned so hard that there were wrinkles on his face. âNo trouble at all. Iâll get it done right away,â he said and quickly left the office as though he was worried that Tessa would go back on her word.
