Chapter 746
Always Been Yours
Chapter 746 She Wants to Head Out Remus eventually yielded in the face of his beloved great-grandsonâs coaxing. âI swear I canât get you guys to listen to me anymore. Forget it. Do whatever you want.â He snorted disdainfully and headed upstairs in spite.
Seeing so, Ian hurriedly went up and helped Remus. âOld Master Sawyer, please walk slowly.â
Ian had come along as well this time, for Remus practically had one foot in the grave now and would need assistance wherever he went.
As Nicholas watched his grandfatherâs retreating figure, he knew the old man would very likely continue to devise plans in secret despite saying he wouldnât bother himself with this anymore.
Thus, Nicholas decided to strike first and gain the upper hand. âIf youâre not willing to accept her, then Iâll have Tessa think twice about the baby, Grandpa. However, even without the baby, I still wonât leave her.â
He sounded dead serious that Kieran was shocked, even believing for a moment that his brother would actually follow through with his words. However, it occurred to him very quickly that this was probably Nicholasâ scheme.
After all, there was no way heâd do anything that would harm Tessa, judging from the way he loved her.
Gregory was also stunned by his fatherâs declaration. However, unlike his uncle, he didnât know this was just Nicholasâ scheme and he instantly reprimanded Nicolas after coming to himself. âHow can you do that, Daddy?!â
Tobias and Stefaniaâs faces turned grim as well; they knew their son well, and he would definitely do as he said.
âI dare you! That child is a Sawyer!â Stefania berated Nicholas.
However, Nicholas ignored them all and only bore into Remus, who looked beyond grim and was livid with rage.
âIs this a threat?â He returned the stare, exuding a sense of dominance.
It wouldnât be Nicholas if he cowered, and just like that, the two came into a standoff, making the atmosphere in the living room tense.
When he sensed that the situation would only worsen, Tobias nudged his wife, who hurriedly went up and smoothed things over after catching her husbandâs hint. âDad, since things have already come to this, we canât let Nicholas do anything regretful. The babyâs also a Sawyer. Didnât you say that itâs quiet with only little Greg around?â
Kieran also hurriedly stepped in and mediated the situation. âGrandpa, Nicholas is only saying things out of anger. Please donât get upset with him. Itâs getting late, and youâve taken a long journey to get here. Why donât I help you to your bed? We can all cool down in the meantime and talk about something else tomorrow.â
With that, he walked up to Remus with a beam.
Remus shot a frosty glance at him but said nothing more. Instead, he headed upstairs.
When Kieran saw this, he shot his brother a knowing glance for fear that the man would give their grandfather a stroke or something because of anger.
On the other hand, Tobias and Stefania tried to talk some sense into Nicholas after Remus was no longer in sight.
âNicholas, we know you donât like people meddling in your life, but you shouldnât butt heads with your grandfather either.â
Nicholas only pulled a sullen face and said nothing, but Tobias didnât care as he continued his lecture, âYour grandfatherâs just old-fashioned, not obstinate. He will still listen if you sit down and talk to him. Butting heads like this will only give your grandfather a heart attackâworse, a stroke.â
Stefania echoed Tobiasâ words. âYour fatherâs right. Donât butt heads with your grandfather, alright? As for the girl, why donât you bring her over and let me have a look at her?â
At last, Nicholasâ mood lifted after hearing Stefaniaâs words, knowing his parents had decided to meet in the middle.
With that, he nodded. âIâll make the arrangements.â
Gregory was a sharp one as well, buttering up to his grandparents immediately when he saw that they had softened. âGrandpa, Grandma, can I sleep with you guys tonight?â
âOf course.â
Tobias and Stefania carried Gregory in their arms, overjoyed.
Meanwhile, Tessa tossed and turned in bed at the apartment, feeling so distressed about Nicholasâ situation that she got up a few times while intending to head out.
