Chapter 882
Always Been Yours
Chapter 882 Somethingâs Missing Susan snorted but said nothing after that, clearly not wanting to continue the subject.
Rorion naturally noticed it as well. He sighed under his breath and said no more, only taking Susan to Hathaway after some time had passed.
It had come time for the father and daughter to act in front of Hathaway.
âHathaway, this is the young lady youâre looking for, Susan.â Rorion gestured to Susan.
Hathaway sized the young woman up and thought she looked even more stunning up closeâshe looked delicate and seemingly amiable.
While thinking, Hathaway nodded with approval in her head, having a pretty good first impression of Susan.
Then, Rorion gestured to Hathaway. âSusan, this is the famous violinist I was telling you about, Miss Hathaway of Hathaway Philharmonic,â he said.
âHello, Miss Hathaway,â Susan greeted sweetly with top-notch acting.
Hathaway dipped her head in reply and asked, âWhich conservatoire did you graduate from? Do you have a mentor?â
âI graduated from Vienna Conservatory, and I donât have a mentor for now.â Susan relayed her newly-written background history.
Meanwhile, Rorion stood silently aside.
Of course, he wasnât quite comfortable leaving Susan alone with Hathaway.
However, the latter knew none of it and diverted their topic to Susanâs earlier performance.
âI was watching your performance just now and noticed how similar your style is to my daughterâs. Were you a fan of Kathleen?â
âIndeed, I really liked Kathleen. I idolized her so much that I even copied her style.â Susan pretended to fangirl and sighed pitifully. âWhat a shame, though.â
In actuality, she deliberately said so to stir Hathawayâs mood, and the woman was indeed affected. However, she didnât let it show.
She took a deep breath to suppress her somewhat ruffled emotions and went straight to the point. âMiss Susan, I can see that youâre very talented. Would you like to join my ensemble? I can personally guide you by then.â
âWellâ¦â Susan pretended to be at a crossroads.
âWhatâs wrong? Is there a problem?â Hathaway looked at her with bewilderment.
âNot exactly. Itâs just that I might have to disappoint you. You see, Iâm currently in Sophia Symphony,â answered Susan with a half-hearted smile, which Hathaway didnât notice because of her disappointment.
However, she could understand Susanâs choice.
After all, Hathaway Philharmonic was still a league below Sofia Symphony.
âDonât worry about it. Being in Sofia Symphony will be even better for your career development.â
Susan nodded sweetly, then actively asked Hathaway some questions about music.
Hathaway adored a studious junior, and she answered all the questions with patience.
As time passed, the two got familiar.
âMiss Hathaway, can I come to you for any more questions I have after tonight?â Susan asked, thinking it was about the right time.
âOf course.â Hathaway was more than happy to do so, and she spoke with a soft gaze. âFeel free to come to me about anything youâre not sure of.â
âAwesome!â Susan feigned delight and praised against her will. âYouâre very kind, Miss Hathaway.â
The two chatted for quite some time that night, and by the end of the party, they even exchanged their contact information.
After putting her phone away, Susan bid Hathaway goodbye sweetly.
Hathaway watched her walk off, and it wasnât until Susan had gone far away that she retrieved her gaze. The smile on her face faded away as well, and dejection crept up to her countenance.
Meanwhile, ever since promising Sofia that she would take part in the Christmas concert, Tessa became super busy.
After practicing in the orchestra during the day, she would return home to compose her piece in the study while referring to some materials.
Tessa held herself to high standards, and she still couldnât come up with a piece that she was happy with even a few days later. She couldnât shake off the feeling that something was missing from the piece.
