Chapter 28

The woodland path was beautifully lit by golden lanterns, framing the landscape in a magical hue.

Ash entwined his hand with mine, and I could feel his breath near my neck, sending shivers down my spine.

"Do my eyes deceive me or has my mate organised a date?"  I smiled with disbelief, leaning into his chest as we continued to walk.

His lips tickled my neck, as he mumbled against my skin,

"Glad to know you think so much of me, love"

I could feel his lips tilt to a smirk as his lips ascended up my jaw, eventually landing on my lips.

He grasped my waist, pulling me against his chest, our lips the barest touch from each other.

"What are you waiting for?"

I joked, twirling my arms around his neck, to pull him forward.

His lips crashed against mine. This wasn't a soft kiss; this was filled with an accumulation of passion and desire and need.

He pulled away ever so slightly, his calloused fingers tracing my cheeks softly.

I smiled up at him, my forehead naturally nuzzling into the crook of his neck.

"I love this height difference, don't you? Awfully convenient"

I was now cocooned against him, my legs circled around his waist. From my desire-induced haze I barely registered how Asher was continuing his walk along the lantern-lit path.

"I am capable of walking you know" I bit his earlobe lightly, in a teasing manner.

A blush blossomed on my cheeks from what his touch did to me. And from the dark laughter that escaped his lips, he knew too.

We were on a cliff edge, overlooking the bright lights and silhouetted mountains lying below us in a blanket of insignificance.

Behind us was a small cabin, lights revealing the cosy, rustic interior.

But I averted my eyes back to the view.

"This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen" I was almost breathless, the darkening sky and the lights below us were an embodiment of beauty.

"I like to come here to think"

"You're a busy man Mr Alpha"

It was then I truly saw the dark bags under his eyes and the weariness behind his eyes, which he tried to hide from me. Probably so I wouldn't worry.

"You look stressed" I pointed out in a soft voice , my brows furrowing with concern.

"I'm an Alpha , baby. I'm never not exhausted. But you help. You help more than you think"

"Of course. I .." Im falling in love you, i thought,

"You are my moon and stars" I spoke playfully, splaying my arms through the air and twirled until my head began to grow dizzy.

Ash just looked at me with an amused facial expression.

"Come" he held his hand out, which I clasped with mine obligingly.

He walked the small distance to the cabin, the warmth from the open fire greeting us immediately; a haven from the icy wind.

We were in the cosy living room and kitchen, a door to our right leading to the bedroom and bathroom.

"This is gorgeous..." I looked up at him,

"Thank you for sharing this with me, this is wonderful-"

Before I could finish Asher's lips crashed against mine, as he pushed me against the door, deepening the kiss as my fingers lifted under his t-shirt, skimming across his warm skin.

"I need to get a shower" I pecked his lips once more before wandering into the bedroom. The double bed contrasted massively to the wooden, rustic wardrobes and furnishings.

I peeled my tshirt off my body, followed by my jeans until I was nude, just wrapped in a creme towel.

The hairs on the back of my neck were standing up, a clear sign of Asher's proximity.

As I turned,I saw him leaning against the doorway, watching me intently.

He stalked towards me slowly, dragging out the time- fully aware of what it would do to me, my need for him.

Two can play this game.

"Just going for a shower" I stepped back as he reached me, hindering his touch

The growl that emanated from his throat forced a smug smile to tickle my face.

I strolled to the bathroom , my hand wafting the door closed when Asher's strong hand gripped it from slamming shut.

"You shouldn't of done that" He spoke, his eyes darkening in lust.

He towered over me in less than a second, pushing me up against the glass door of the shower in a moment of pure bliss and surprise.

His lips crashed against mine, passion driving his mouth to extract such unparalleled desire from my core.

I fumbled with my fingers to urgently push his shirt off, my palms longing to touch the hard muscles of his chest.

I made quick work of throwing his jeans away, leaving me eye to eye with his massive member which was pointed right at me.

"No boxers?" I asked, my voice darkening with lust.

I could faintly feel our tangled bodies exiting the shower, a fluffy towel engulfing me before I was softly placed onto the bed, Asher's front against my back.

Sleep was making me it's prisoner, but before my mind completely blanked, I could of sworn I heard a faint whisper tickle my hair,
