Chapter 375
Sold To a Handsome Trillionaire by Wanda Lowe
Chapter 375 Take Leave or Not?
Davidâs brow furrowed as he studied her.
Finished Caroline met his gaze with unwavering determination. âIâm going to work. David, who told you that you could make decisions for me?â
âYou need rest.â
âNo, I donât,â she said firmly. âIâm getting up now.â
If she hadnât woken up in time, she would have missed work entirely.
Davidâs expression darkened slightly. He had done this for her, thinking about her wellâbeing, yet she was acting as if he had overstepped.
âAnd another thing,â Caroline added, narrowing her eyes. âWho said you could turn off my alarm?â
David arched a brow. âSo, I overstepped?â
âExactly! I didnât realize Mr. Ellison was now in charge of my work schedule.â
Caroline had always taken her job seriously. No matter what, she made sure to show upâeven if it meant forcing herself to.
Her personal issues had already caused too many delays in her work.
She felt guilty, especially toward Boris. And Anna had been covering for her far too much.
Besides, with David personally calling in for her, there was no way the company would refuse.
At least he had informed them. On any other day, he probably wouldnât have botheredâhe wouldâve simply decided for her without saying a word.
On the other end of the line, William hesitated. âMr. Ellison... should I confirm the leave or not?â
âYes.â
âNo.â
â...So, who should I listen to?â
Before David could respond, Caroline snatched the phone from his hand.
âIâll be at my desk on time. Thank you.â Then she hung up, tossing the phone onto Davidâs lap without a second glance.
She marched into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
Few people would dare to throw a tantrum in front of David.
And yet... instead of being annoyed, he simply smirked.
Last night, Caroline had been quiet, exhausted, and completely drained.

** Finished At least now she had energy; she could still lash out, still fight backârather than sit there like an empty shell, making him uneasy.
After all, a little attitude from a woman was perfectly normal.
The dining table was lined with a lavish breakfast spread, the staff quietly setting each dish in place.
Caroline ate without a word.
She had no appetite. But for the babyâs sake, she forced herself to swallow every bite.
David placed a glass of milk in front of her. âItâs room temperature. You shouldnât drink anything cold.â
She didnât acknowledge him. David nudged the glass closer.
âI can pour my own drink,â she muttered. âThanks.â
âItâs already done.â
âI donât need you to do it for me.â
David remained patient. âJust drink some.â
Caroline shoved the glass away. âI donât want it! How many times do I have to say it?â
The smooth tabletop offered no friction, and with more force than she intended, the glass slid further than expected.
Crash! Milk gushed out, spilling over the table, trickling onto the floor, leaving a trail of white streaks.
The table. The floor. Even Davidâs clothes.
âMr. Ellison!â A housekeeper gasped, rushing forward with napkins.
Caroline froze.
She hadnât meant for that to happen. She hadnât meant to push it that far.
She hadnât expected the milk to spillâshe wasnât in a position to throw a tantrum like that in front of David.
It was purely an accident. But... what was done was done.
