Chapter 377
Sold To a Handsome Trillionaire by Wanda Lowe
Chapter 377 Ignoring His Orders âThe meeting documents are on your desk. Take a look when you have time.â
âThanks!â
Anna grinned. âNo need to be so politeâitâs no trouble at all.â
Caroline was reaching for the files when her desk phone rang unexpectedly.
âHello, this is Caroline from the R&D department. How can I help?â
Borisâs voice was firm. âCome to my office. Now.â
âUnderstood, Mr. Boris.â
Finished She had no idea why he was calling her in, but she didnât hesitate. She immediately got up and headed over.
It was already 9:30.
Boris stood behind his desk, his gaze unreadable as he studied her.
Something about it made her uneasy.
âMr. Boris... Is there a problem?â
âDid you and David have another argument?â
Caroline was caught off guard.
How did he know? Sure, he and David were close, but it wasnât like they discussed everything, especially something as private as last night.
âMr. Boris, I donât see how thatâs relevant to work,â she said calmly. âDid you call me in just to ask this?â
Boris let out an exasperated sigh. âAs much as I enjoy a bit of gossip, I wouldnât waste time on it before a major meeting. I have no time for this nonsense.â
âThen... why am I here?â
âItâs not me. Itâs your husband.â
Caroline frowned. âWhat do you mean?â
Boris spread his hands. âMr. Ellison told me to send you to his office before the meeting starts. Until you see him, the R&D meeting cannot proceed. In other words, this entire meeting is being held up until you go to him first.â
Carolineâs jaw tightened.
David was seriously pulling this stunt? Leveraging work and my colleagues to force me into seeing him?
âIâm not going,â she said without hesitation. âStart the meeting as scheduled, Mr. Boris. If there are any consequences, Iâll take full responsibility.â
1/2 Tue, 4 Chapter 377 Ignoring His Orders âWork and personal matters should stay separate.â
âTrue, but Mr. Ellison doesnât think that way. Heâs the CEO. His orders matter.â
Boris gestured at the clock.
9:35.
Carolineâs voice was firm. âMr. Boris, start the meeting. Ignore that lunatic.â
Boris let out a chuckle. âYouâre probably the only one brave enough to talk about him like that.â
âAm I wrong?â
Finished âOh, by the way,â Boris added, his expression turning playful, âremember the rumor about Mr. Ellison kissing someone in the elevator? That was you, wasnât it?â
Caroline said nothing, but the way her face turned red said everything.
âGot it,â Boris smirked. âAlright, letâs start the meeting. With you here, Iâve got no reason to worry.â
At 9:40 sharp, the meeting room was filled, and the discussion began on time.
Meanwhile, in the CEOâs office, Davidâs eyes flicked toward the clock. His lips pressed into a thin line.
Caroline had really ignored him.
She had completely brushed him off, disregarding his orders without a second thought.
She was getting bolder by the day...
At home, he had tolerated her defiance. But here, at work? Did she really think he had no control over her?
A cold chuckle escaped his lips as he stood up, straightening his tie. Without a momentâs hesitation, he strode toward the R&D department.
Caroline, focused on her notes, had no idea what was coming her way.
