Chapter 23

Kiara

Waking up with such great comfort feels so nice, and I'm even happier because I'm the first one to wake up today.

Getting excited I looked at the clock to just again get shocked,

it was freaking 9 am!

Oh my god, how did I sleep so late? Also Neil is too sleeping till now, he'll get late for office if he doesn't wake up now.

"Neil, wake up, it's already 9." I said and he quickly woke up while carefully placing Aksha on the bed and rushing to the bathroom.

"Get ready soon, till then I'll set up the breakfast." I said and turned to go out only to see Aksha waking up from her sleep, so I decided to even take her with me downstairs.

"Good Morning, cutie-pie. You know your dad's gonna get late today because of you." I said to her while descending the stairs only to get a giggle in return which made me go awe.

"Good Morning Mom!" I greeted as I reached the dining table.

"Good morning Kiara, Oh wow! my granddaughter's awake, good morning Aksha." Mom said taking her from me and kissing her cheek.

"Mom, you play with her till then I'll prepare her milk." I said to which she nodded and went towards the TV dodging her.

After that, I quickly went towards the kitchen, brought the milk and gave it to her, and went again to the kitchen to bring Neil's breakfast and quickly set it up on the table.

"Good Morning Mom." I heard Neil say while coming downstairs while Mom greeted him back.

"Neil, come and have breakfast fast." I said while quickly placing the plate on the table.

"Oh My, my cutie pie is awake." Neil said taking Aksha in his arms to which she smiled.

With that, he finished his breakfast and started going out not before kissing Aksha's cheek.

"Finally, now I'll go and fresh up." I said taking a sigh and going towards the room to fresh up not before asking Mom to take care of her.

I soon took a bath and went downstairs to have breakfast where I could see no one,

maybe they are in the garden,

I thought and had breakfast and then went to the garden to see Mom sitting on the swing playing with each other the ultimate peek a boo.

"Kiara, it's nice that you came soon." Mom said,looking at me with a relieved expression.

"Why?" I asked sitting next to her.

"Actually, my sister had called, and she said that she's having a kitty party at her house, so I'm going." Mom informed me.

"Ok, so giver her to me, so that you can go and get ready." I said and took Aksha with me and Mom went away to get ready.

It's been 3 hours since Mom left and I'm alone in the house with Aksha who's currently sleeping on the bed and I'm sitting next to her searching about the current case that has come up just today.

It's about a woman accused of murdering her ex-husband, who says she has not murdered him but the husband's current wife has something else to say, so yeah, I'm just searching more about the case till the time my baby girl is sleeping.

It's nice that my boss allowed me to work from home today because it would have been difficult if I would have been told to come to the office today, then Mom wouldn't have been able to go to her party.

So now enough discussion let's get to work.

Finally, I've searched enough for today I guess, I just need the time to talk to the accused so that I can proceed with the findings, with this I thought of taking a nap when my phone buzzed showing a call from Prish.a

"Hello Prishu, what happened?" I asked as its office hours so she'll definitely not call for a timepass.

"Hello Kiara, you need to be here within 2 hours, we got the time to talk to the accused, but only you can do so, no one else." She informed me and I just agreed and cut the call not realizing the stress I have to deal with.

I agreed to get out, without thinking what about Aksha

I definitely can't take her to the office, it mostly has criminal talks and I don't want her to go there, Mom won't be here till evening maybe night, Sid and Neil are both in the office.

Hmm, since they both are in office, one of them can come I guess.

Thinking so, I quickly called Neil, and to my luck, he picked up the phone in one ring.

"Hello Kiara, how did you miss me, that too in afternoon..." He's in a fun mood, but I'm not really so I just straight away came to point.

"Neil, I want you to come home." I said.

"Why?" He questioned, confusingly.

And then I told him the whole story which he listened quickly before finally, replying "I'll be home within 45 minutes"

After cutting the call, I immediately went to change and then prepare a little bit of food in the kitchen, by chance if I get lat., I know he would cook, he cooks even better than me, but I thought that maybe Aksha should be first on the priority.

So I quickly cooked food, set it aside, cleaned the kitchen, and went to look at my doll who was gladly ,still sleeping.

I quickly took my bag and arranged everything in it, just in case they decide to talk about the case further, and went downstairs when I heard the voice of a car coming.

"Kiara, I'm home, you can go now." Neil said as soon as he entered.

"Sure, thank you!" I said and went out not before hugging him, while he just wished me luck.

Man gives really comforting and motivating hugs, I just love him.

Wha--

Wait a minute, not the appropriate time, maybe later.

Neil

"Neil, I want you to come home." this is what Kiara said to me before the whole story which I listened carefully and now I'm sitting on the bed next to my daughter who looks so adorable.

She's anyways adorable and in a sleeping state she's even cuter.

Since Kiara called me early I informed Sid about everything that needs to be done and I'm sure he'll manage it but still since I'm not doing anything right now, I took out my laptop and again started work.

We're planning to build a new restaurant, and with the entry of this cute little angel in my life, I definitely got a name for my restaurant.

I had just started to work when a shrill voice disturbed my focus, I turned to see beside me and it was Aksha who had woken up, and I pretty sure knew the reason for it.

Her diaper needs to be changed, so I set my laptop aside and did it and sat playing with her for a while before she decided to cry again due to hunger I quickly gave her milk which Kiara had told me how to prepare.

Then we both sat to watch a Disney movie which didn't quite excite her so we started watching my all-time favorite,

Harry Potter!

Which I guess even my daughter liked, because she looks so happy while watching it.

"You know, this is my favorite movie." I said to her in a kiddish voice to which she giggled a little.

"And I even once got cold when I was eleven, because I was sitting on the terrace waiting for my Hogwarts Letter." I said remembering the time and she smiled at me like understanding what I said.

Soon after we finished the movie, I received a text, actually texts,

One from Mom which said she is going to come tomorrow and Dad is also with her as they planned a sudden sleepover, directly from a kitty party,

one from Sid saying that he's going on a date,

mm-hmm lucky guy!

And one from Kiara, saying that she'll be late a little and that she has prepared food for me, I just need to heat it .

I replied to all of them and since I was already hungry I took Aksha with me to the kitchen, kept the food to heat in the oven, and also made Aksha's milk in case she has to drink.

Soon I had my food while talking in a kiddish voice with Aksha, and honestly, I loved it a lot even though all she did was giggle in response,

After that I locked the main door, since Kiara has one key it's not a problem, and went to my room where we watched just some cartoons which made Aksha happy, and soon sleep engulfed both of us.

Third Person POV

Soon the evening had turned to night, and late to very late when at 10 pm Kiara entered the house.

"I guess they both are in the room." Kiara said to herself before again locking the main door.

And she was right as the father-daughter duo were sleeping so cute with Neil at one side and Aksha in middle, leaving carefully a space for Kiara .

They looked so cute, that Kiara couldn't help but click a picture which broke Neil's sleep but Kiara just signaled him to keep quiet and sleep which he did.

After that, Kiara just silently went to get fresh and then had a little bit of food before falling in sleep at the very own space made by her little world and hugged Aksha from the other side which made her forget everything and made her calm and peaceful.

Indeed family is the peace we need !
