Chapter 2 ~ This is Karma!

Kendrick’s POV ~

Brutus is brutal today. He won’t stop pacing in my head.. stomping his paws and snorting. 🐺 What the fuck is your deal, Brut! You are giving me a massive headache! 🐺 I don’t KNOW! I’m aggravated. I’m anxious! I’m fucking annoyed! 🐺 You fucking need to calm down! I haven’t been able to concentrate all day! 🐺 Because sure! I like feeling this way! Asshole! You’re allowed shit days and I have to ‘suck it up’ Or days you fuck that stinky slut.. I have no say! So you suck it up, buttercup!

I am the strongest Alpha in the Western Hemisphere.. On par with the Royals.. I have had to be.. rogues killed my parents, forcing me into my position before I was old enough! In my anger, I became ruthless..deadly! Now, my name instills fear in most everyone. Warriors come from all over, seeking to join my pack…my army is nearly a thousand strong!

Jaxson walks in and says “Whoa! What’s with the scowl, bro? Didn’t get your lollipop licked?” I look at him with narrowed eyes “Shut the fuck up! Brutus is being an asshole and “ 🐺 You’re the asshole! Asshole! “Anddd.. he’s giving me a headache! Where the fuck have you been?” He grins a creepy grin “Getting MY lollipop sucked “ 🐺 Well, that’s disgusting! When we meet our mates..they are going to be so disappointed! 🐺 Shut Up Brut! I know you don’t like Amber..but she helps me relax! 🐺 you’ll be plenty relaxed when she gives you something Ajax won’t scrub off! UGGHHHH! Why is he being impossible today!?

Jax laughs “He’s really being a dick today? What’s his deal?” I sigh and mutter “I wish I knew! He’s given me a headache! He hates Amber..always gives me shit about her. But today.. he’s more aggressive about it” Again.. Jax laughs..then says “To be honest.. she seems to be getting a little clingy. Throwing her weight around the lower ranked she-wolves. Telling them they had better start treating her better, since you are going to make her Luna.. I warned you not to make her your exclusive piece, two months ago! Now..you got problems!”

He’s probably right. I just got lazy. Different girl every night.. I was bored. Now I’m even more bored and just fuck..to fuck. I’m going to have to set her straight soon! Jax is absolutely right about the clinginess. She is just a time filler..like the others.. until I decide to look for my mate. I will stop all other girls then. That’s why I’m in no hurry! I like the variety..or I did..until two months ago. May as well break it off..maybe Brutus will calm down. I link her to come to my office.

As my door opened, I immediately snap “You never enter my office without knocking!” And she smiles “ Oh honey! We are past that knocking phase!” And she reached for me.. I backed away and ordered “Sit” and went back behind my desk “Amber… it has come to my attention you are trying to take advantage of the fact I have fucked you a few times. So.. with that in mind, I feel it is in my best interest to cut this off. You are to pack and go home to your brother’s pack..today. It is over. I never invited you to stay here, in the first place. You showed up with your brother while he underwent his gamma training and didn’t leave when he went home two days ago. Now..it is past time. You are dismissed…oh!..and Amber.. do not come back without being invited!” She jumped up and screamed “My brother was right! You’re a complete asshole!” I nodded replying “Probably. But it’s good to know a Gamma from a visiting pack, the gamma of the Shining Sun is speaking out of turn about an Alpha! I will be having words with Alpha Johnston in regards to that! Thanks for letting me know!” Then she starts whining “No..I didn’t mean it like that! Please don’t get Derek in trouble.” I shrugged “You already did that! Goodbye Amber”

After she stormed out, Jaxson started laughing “Are you seriously going to complain about being called an asshole?” I chuckled “Nope. I AM an asshole. But I am going to call Derek and have him make his sister think she got him in trouble. It’ll be fun!” And we both laugh!

We both got linked at the same time 🐺 Large group of rogues.. close to 50.. breached northeast.. two patrol down and we both ran for the border. The rogues started running as soon as they saw us..all headed north toward the lake.. Having a fairly good head start, I am hoping to hem them in at the lake.. I sent four wolves east and another four west. We should be able to flank them before they get around the lake..as long as they don’t swim for it. If they do, I will have to warn Alpha Sterling. We break the treeline and the rogues are trying to edge around the lake. I see four kids ready to defend..not a one of them shifted. They’re going to fight in human form? Impressive,as fuck! We charged the rogues..just as Alpha Sterling breaks the brush with at least, twenty warriors. The rogues charge them.. not one person shifted. I saw the girl take down a rogue without help..the wolf twice her size! Then, it was over.

Brutus walked to the water’s edge..and we caught a scent on the breeze. Knowing we are downwind and they can’t smell us. But the haunting scent of chocolate and mint..Brutus whispers ‘Mate’ and I say she’s underage Brut. She’s too young! And then Alpha Blake is yelling about keeping my rogues off his territory.. The fuck!!? Talk about arrogance! I turn and walk back to the pack house.

I walk into the office..wearing nothing but basketball shorts. Brutus is seriously giving me shit now! He won’t listen to me and I’m struggling to maintain control! Jaxson walks in, with our Gamma Jake, just as I am slamming my second whiskey! He whistles low “Dude! Don’t let what Alpha Blake said get to you!” I’m shaking my head.. “I don’t care what he says.. he’s an Alpha.. he was worried about his kids.” Jake asks “What am I missing? You are clearly upset! So what’s going on? That’s your fourth drink!”

I start pacing. Trying to think.. but Brutus won’t shut up! I huff! Loudly! And I growl “she’s my mate!” They both dropped their jaws and stared. Then Jax sputtered “wha?…who?… Amber? Noooo.. tell me no!” I shake my head! I live with TweedleDumb and TweedleDumber! “Not Amber, you twat! The little girl at the lake. She’s my mate. She’s just a fucking kid! What the fuck am I supposed to do now? Wait until she grows up? She can’t be more than what? 14? Oh for Goddess sake! How did my life become this!!?” Jaxson started guffawing “This! This shit right here? This is Karma!”
