Chapter 32 ~ Lock Her in the Cells

It’s been nearly four months since Ethan kidnapped me. I finally convinced Kendrick to pull our teams back. Granddaddy plastered Ethan and Amber’s pictures everywhere. He held a press conference.. told them everything about my first abduction.. then the second generation kidnapping me. He even told about Troy Calhoun’s involvement.. forcing him to issue a public announcement and formal apology. Which was part of his punishment.

We found out we are definitely having twins.. but we didn’t want to know the genders. Alexander told us two months ago that Ella is expecting.. and they just found out it’s twins, as well…two little boys! And Identical! Anna and Baron just found out they’re expecting a week ago. Our babies could come any day..Kendrick is making himself crazy. He has packed and repacked our go bag five times!

Today, while we repacked it.. I suggested he pack two girl outfits and two boy outfits.. that way.. regardless of their gender.. we are prepared! That calmed him down somewhat! I’m excited! I can’t wait to meet them!! I want to hold them. Count their fingers and toes..

We went down to have lunch with everyone.. we try to take meals with the pack every day.. at least, one! Jake is being typical Jake.. “Luna..David’s father has three sons.. Snap..Crackle..and…. ?” I say “Pop” and he cracks up.. I still don’t get it! Kendrick says “He’s David’s father.. he has three sons.. One named Snap..one named Crackle.. so the third one would beeee?” I slapped Jake.

A commotion at the front door had us all heading that way.. just as we reached the foyer.. Derek was coming through the door.. dragging an even stinkier and unkempt Amber inside. I said “Ewww.. No! Not in my house! Take her stank ass out to the garden hose.. I will get some soap!” They thought I was joking.. until Kendrick told them “Guys.. she’s serious!”

I gathered soap and some sweatpants and a tee shirt. Walking around to the side of the house..she was screaming bloody murder that it was too cold.. scratching and biting my guys! Fuck that! I walked straight up and slapped her in the face so hard, I split her lip. I grinned “That’s One!”

Within an hour, she smelled better.. but she was sullen and pouting. Kept whining at Kendrick about the mistreatment she’s suffered..and how I am the root of all evil.. She reached across the table to touch his arm and I asked “That eager for the next one? Keep it up! I won’t slap you a second time! I will punch you so hard your kids will be born stupid!”

Kendrick said “She won’t have kids. Even if we let her live.. She caused the rejection by being a whore.. so Troy might get a second chance mate.. but she won’t “ She screamed “This is your fault! Everything that went wrong! You did this!” I nod.. agreeing with her “You’re right.. It is my fault. Kendrick Drake is my mate.. My fault! You spread your legs for any swinging dick you see, except your mate.. Oh wait! He wanted me too! My fault.. You fell in with a psychopath..who has made stalking me my whole life his career.. Yep.. sounds about right.. My Fault! Look at that! You’re all absolved of any responsibility in this whole charade!”

She looks at my mate and asks “Really?” He laughed “No.. Not really, you idiot!” He grins at me and kisses my nose “Stop using sarcasm, my love. It obviously eludes her!” And she lunged across the table at me. Jake caught her and pinned her down..while looking at me. He says “Do we want to know why she’s here..or you just going to kill her now, Luna?” I smile “Let her live a little longer.. I want to hear her wild tale.”

Kendrick says “Start talking, Amber. What on earth possessed you to come back!? There are wanted posters for you and Ethan, all over the kingdom! So, why now? It’s been four months.” She started with the loud sobs and crocodile tears.. and Derek smacked the back of her head “Start talking, Alpha said!”

She whimpers “Ethan is crazy. I mean.. very crazy. He bites the heads off bats! Nuts! We have been running…hiding in caves. No food. No place to sleep.. without bugs. I haven’t had my hair or nails done in months!” And I barked out a laugh.. “Aww. Your poor thing! Life’s been hard on you since you decided to kill me and try to steal my mate. That’s such a shame. Did it never occur to you.. at any time.. even once.. that constantly being on the run.. forced to live in caves.. is exactly what happens to criminals trying to escape justice?”

She looked at Kendrick asking why I have to bully her…and I laughed again.. I said “Just finish the story. And remember. Excuses are not Reasons!” She mumbles “I don’t even know what that means!”

She brings on tears again “I tried to get away from him a dozen times. But he would catch me and make me stay.” Jaxson asks her “Then how are you here? Why would you even think this would be the place to be?” She yells “I needed to find Derek, okay!? I thought he would be here..and I was right!”

Kendrick leans forward “Bullshit! You would have gone home to find Derek! Not here! You came here with an agenda. Where’s Ethan? Tell me that, and I will let you live.” She gasped.. Reckon that surprised her! She sobs “Why would you kill me? I am the victim here! I was abducted, too! He took me the night I was headed back here. Alpha Johnson gave me permission to join the warriors program.” And Derek slapped the back of her head again “They already know the truth of that, idiot!”

She tries again “Regardless, he took me.. Just spirited me away to Troy’s pack house. What Troy saw wasn’t what it looked like. It’s why I didn’t want to accept his rejection. He wouldn’t let me explain.” Kendrick roars “We don’t give two shits about Troy! Where the fuck is Ethan and why the fuck are you here!” Then everything about her changes.. Her demeanor goes dark and she sneers “I don’t know where he is. But he sent me to deliver a message.. He’s watching. Always watching. He will strike when you least expect it. And I wasn’t lying when I said he is crazy! I had to make it here to give you his message.. or he wouldn’t let me go!”

My water broke and I told Kendrick.. He picked me up and told Jaxson “Lock her in the cells. No food for three days. Let’s see how she likes it!”

He practically ran to the infirmary with me
