Chapter Twenty-One
Uncharted Territory
Adrian's POV
It's only been two weeks since Blake was put in jail for domestic abuse, and I feel so much safer. I don't have to worry about running into him when we go out, I don't have to worry about him hurting anyone else. I can actually be completely happy.
I was sitting on the chair in the living room reading a book as Marcus was asleep on the couch. It was silent. It was peaceful.
Until Alice busted through the door and tore my book out of my hands.
"Alice! What the hell?"
"I need help," she whisper yelled as she nervously looked back at Marcus, still sleeping peacefully.
"Okay, okay. Come on," I made my way to my room so she didn't wake up Marcus.
I plopped down on my bed and patted the spot to my left. "What's up?"
"How do you know if you're in love?" She asked as she fiddled with the hem of her Guns and Roses t-shirt.
I decided to not make fun of her, and instead gave her an honest answer, "Well, whenever you see the person you get excited. Your heart starts beating incredibly fast and you want to be around than as much as you can, for as long as you can. You want to know everything about them, and you can't stop thinking about them. They invade your head and your heart."
Alice nodded, then whispered something so quietly I almost didn't hear her, "I think I'm in love with Luke."
"I know," I said with a small nod.
Her head snapped to me so fast I was afraid she would get whiplash, "how the hell do you know?"
"I know you so well, Alice. I can tell when you're acting different, and you've never acted like this before, not even with your ex boyfriend."
"Don't even talk about him, that was so bad," She chuckled, "But really, what do I do?"
"Well, you could always ask him out," I advised, "Or you could just wait for him to do it."
She was silent for a few seconds, "I'd rather let him do it, just so I know if he's serious or not."
"Makes sense, but from what I can see I think he's a pretty serious person when it comes to relationships."
"I hope you're right," Alice sighed.
"I know I'm right," I said with confidence.
In truth, Marcus has already told me that Luke really likes Alice. I thought. As I stood up and headed back to the living room, Alice following me.
On the living room couch, Marcus was awake and Luke was here. They were very loudly and aggressively playing X-Box.
"LUKE I SwEaR to god, if you shoot me I'll tell everyone that you-"
"DIE DIE DIE," Luke loudly cut Marcus off as he shot him.
"LUKE! That was a GROUP mission, why did you kill me??"
Luke shrugged, "Cuz you threatened me."
"This is why I don't like playing X-Box with you," Marcus shook his head and stood up to turn off the X-Box.
"Erm.." I started, "Do you guys wanna go out and do something?"
"Sure," said Marcus, "Should we wake up Keith?"
"I totally forgot that he was living here!" Luke laughed, "Is he in your room Marcus?"
"Yeah, we're taking turns letting him sleep in the beds. One of us take the couch every other night." He explained as he walked to him room to get Keith.
Alice sat down next to Luke and stated talking about something, I wasn't playing attention. I went to the kitchen and made myself a peanut butter and cucumber sandwich.
This is how things went in my life, the drama between Alice and Luke, Keith finding somewhere to stay, and with Blake being gone, actually being able to go out without fear.
My life was perfect. I was so happy to be with Marcus, he made everything better.
