Chapter Three

Uncharted Territory

I woke up to the sunlight coming through my window right on my face. I groaned and looked at the clock, 8:30 it read. Getting out of bed I went to my closet and picked out some clothes. I didn't know what my plans were for today so I went with something casual. A white t-shirt and a black and red flannel, black skinny jeans, and red converse high tops. I walked into my bathroom and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I really need to have Marcus teach me how to style my hair, I thought as I ran my hands through my messy hair. I shrugged and made my way to the kitchen.

Marcus was standing at the stove wearing nothing but sweatpants that were riding low on his hips. I felt my face get red as I ogled him. I couldn't help myself, he looked so damn hot. He suddenly turned around and I tore my gaze away from him so he wouldn't ask questions.

"Morning, sleeping beauty." He chuckled, "took you long enough."

I rolled my eyes and took a seat at the counter, "Its only 9:00, relax, it's not that late."

"Do you want an omelet or scrambled eggs?" Marcus asked.

"Wait wait wait, since when do you make breakfast?" I questioned.

"Since I bruised your hand and want to make it up to you. So omelet scrambled?"

"Scrambles please," I said quietly, when he mentioned my bruised hand it clicked how much my hand actually hurt. He has a stronger grip than I thought.

He turned around and glanced at me, "Are you okay?" His eyes traveled to my hand that I was holding gently. "We should probably ice that," he added.

He plated my eggs and went to the freezer to grab an ice pack. Wrapping it in a towel he sat down next to me and held the ice on my hand.

"You d-don't have to h-hold the ice," I stuttered.

"Hmm," Marcus hummed with a small smile, "But I want to."

"Oh, okay." I went back to eating my eggs as he sat next to me holding the ice on my hand.

"Again, I'm really sorry."

"It's no big deal! I've already said that."

"I know, but I still feel bad."

I held up my hand, the ice falling off, "well now I have battle wounds, adds character."

Marcus snickered, "like you need more character."

"Rude!" I gasped.

"Shut up and eat your eggs."

I did as I was told and we sat in a comfortable silence until I was done.

"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked as I put my dishes in the dishwasher.

"I already did, I had an omelet."

I nodded and stretched. "What are we doing today?"

"We?" He looked at me, "Who said I want to hang out with you again?"

"Alright fine," I retorted, "I'll just go call up Alice and see if she wants to go do something with me." I went to my room to grab my phone, Marcus calling out behind me, "Hey I was just joking! I wanna hang out!"

"Too late!" I called back.

I dialed Alice's number and waited. I listened to it ring a few times then...

"HEY HEY HEY" She yelled as a greeting.

Almost dropping my phone I said, "Whoa chill out! Trying to make me break my phone?"

"Aw don't whine. What's up?"

"Do you wanna hang out today? Marcus blew me off."

"Well he's missing out, we don't need him...even though he's soooo hot."

"Hey, I saw him first." I warned.

"I know, I know! So whatcha want to do today? I have no plans."

"Hmm...we should go ice skating."

"I'm down, can I invite Dylan?"

"Sure why not, the more the merrier!" I joked.

"Dylan is on his way over to my place, we can come pick you up when he gets here."

"Alright, sounds like a plan Stan."

"OMG Adrian, why." Alice laughed.

"Don't be hatin', I'm hilarious."

"Yeah yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night. Dylan is here, bye Adrian!"

"Bye, don't forget to pick me up."

"We won't, don't worry."

I hung up the phone and got off my bed. I turned around to see that Marcus was leaning against the door frame, "Ice skating?"

I nodded, "With Alice and Dylan." I walked past him and sat down on the couch in our living room.

I felt the couch sink as he sat down next to me, "Can I come?" He asked.

I turned so I was facing him, "I thought you didn't want to hang out with me."

"Come on dude, I was just joking!" He looked me in the eye, "of course I want to hang out with you."

I blushed and quickly looked away, "Yeah, you can come."

"Sweet!"

I was focused on my shoes, not wanting to look at Marcus. Suddenly I felt his hand in my hair. I jerked towards him, my eyes wide.

"You really need to learn how to style your hair. This look isn't really working for you." He chuckled.

I glared at him, "If you want me to fix it so much then why don't you fix it yourself."

There's no way he would ACTUALLY fix my hair...I thought.

I was wrong.

"Alright," he shrugged. He grabbed my arm and pulled me up and towards his room.

"Wait really? I was just joking!" I protested as I tried to pull my arm from his grip.

"I know you were, but I'm not." He pulled me into his bathroom, "Sit on the counter."

I did as he ordered, "Damn you and your damn muscles." I grumbled.

He laughed and grabbed my face. He lifted my head up and ran his hands through my hair.

Oh man, this is not going to go well. He's really really close to me. I thought. My heart was beating hard against my ribs and my hands were shaking.

"Your hair is really soft," he observed.

"T-thank you." I whispered, avoiding his eyes.

He smiled and squeezed some of the hair gel onto his hands, he ran his hands through my hair again. After a minute or two he was done.

"Look! Doesn't that look so much better?"

I hopped off the counter and faced the mirror.

My bangs were styled so they were swooped up and to the side.

"Whoa!" I raved, "You're so good at that!" I looked at Marcus through the mirror, "You should teach me how to do that."

He chuckled, "I can do that."

Suddenly there was a loud bang on our door.

I looked at Marcus and hurried out of the bathroom before Alice broke through the door.

"Might wanna stay back a bit," I warned Marcus.

He nodded and backed up.

I opened the door and quickly jumped out of the way.

"IM HERE BITCHES." Alice yelled with her arms above her head as she barged into the apartment, "WHO'S READY TO GO ICE SKATING!"
