Chapter 110

one hundred eight

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

By the time Chan had dropped off Jisung at home, it was already late at night. Jisung thanked his friends for spending the day with him before he unlocked the front door of his house.

After entering it, he kicked the door shut with his shoes and heard the sounds of the television in the living room, and in less than a second, Minho walked up to him.

"There you are," he said. "Where have you been?"

Jisung awkwardly scratched his neck. "I hung out with my friends and it took longer than expected," he said, his eyes desperately searching for a distraction.

When his gaze fell on Mochi scurrying up to them, he smiled at it. "Aww, hello baby," he cooed and picked the kitty up, holding it and hugging it to his chest.

He entirely missed the jealousy burning in the other demon's red eyes since he was too busy petting the cat's back.

"Jisung!" He hissed surly, curling his lips in distaste. "Don't ignore me."

"Huh? Oh, I'm sorry," he smiled sheepishly. "What did you say?"

Minho sighed in frustration and ran his hand through his dark hair, muttering a low curse. "That damn cat," he growled. "It always gets in between us."

Jisung's eyes widened. "Mochi is my cute baby, how would it get in between us?" he asked.

Exasperated, Minho sighed. "I haven't seen you all day, so I want you to myself," he grumbled, glaring at the light demon.

"Ah, I see. You're jealous again... because of a cat," he smirked. "Don't worry, love. You're my favorite demon, so you don't need to be jelly."

Now that shut Minho up—and it also made him blush a little bit.

Minho's birthday rolled around faster than expected. He had been busy with the preparations for the party, so he had lost track of time. Before he knew it, it was Friday.

He had been giddy ever since he woke up in the morning. It seemed that his birthday really was an important event to him.

Later in the evening, he and Jisung were the first ones to arrive at the bar where they had booked a private room for the party.

It was already dark outside and the establishment was filled with partying people, most of them being supernatural creatures.

A waiter showed them to their room and Minho was happy with what he saw. It was spacious, furnished with modernly tables, chairs and a bar in the corner.

Music came from the speakers in the ceiling and the lights emphasized the decorations on the walls.

Their guests arrived not long after, the first one being Seungmin. He appeared directly in front of Minho to scare the living hell out of him. "Hello asshole," he said.

"Idiot, it's my birthday today. Be nice to me for once," Minho said and rolled his eyes at the younger demon's foolishness.

"Whatever. Happy birthday," he snickered and held out a box right in front of Minho. "Take it. It's your damn present."

Minho took it and thanked him. Opening the lid of the box, he was stunned. He discovered a strawberry cake in it—he was surprised that Seungmin would get something like this for him.

A smile broke out on his lips. "Thanks. But you didn't have to get this for me, really. Cakes are quite expensive nowadays."

"Oh, no, I didn't buy this. Your boyfriend asked us to help him bake a cake for you. Gosh, you guys are so whipped for each other." he smirked.

"R-Really?!" Minho sputtered, needing a second to get over his surprise. Everything made sense to him now.

He now understood why Jisung had been spending most of his time with the demons. They were busy making a cake!

"I hope you like it," Jisung smiled timidly. "It may not taste as good like the one's sold in stores, but we worked really hard on this."

"Are you kidding me? I love this!" Minho said and hugged him. "This would definitely be a present that I'd remember for the rest of my life."
