Chapter 119

one hundred seventeen

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

When the door of the room finally opened, Jisung gazed at Changbin who was armed with a bowl of porridge and a plastic bag filled with two water bottles.

His magical white wings were sprouting from his back, layers of soft feathers covering them. His wings were folded, but looked breathtakingly beautiful nonetheless.

The sight was a total contrast to what Jisung had last seen of him—terrifying blood red eyes that were filled with loathing and a dark sinister aura surrounding him.

"What the fuck did you do to Minho?" Jisung hollered. The impatient twitch of his lips paired with the glare in his eyes revealed his anger.

"No swearing, that's not very nice. Be mindful of your manners," Changbin retorted cheekily which caused Jisung to grow more furious.

"Answer my fucking question! What did you do to him, you monster!"

"That... kinda hurt." Changbin sighed but let it slide since he figured that maybe Jisung's outburst was caused by his distress.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't do anything to him. Don't you remember what happened before you got into an accident?"

"That... I'm very confused," Jisung said breathlessly. "I remember my house was burning, I got trapped, and then I blacked out after that."

"Your house wasn't on fire." Changbin furrowed his brows, confused. "And about Minho... he left you after I removed your bond. Remember?"

"You were even so sad because of it—which was exactly why you decided to aimlessly walk around the city at night."

"I secretly followed you because I was worried for your well-being. You were so caught up in your sadness that you didn't even notice the car racing towards you," he frowned.

"And I'm sorry... for not being able to get you out of the way in time. Well, what matters the most is that you're alive. Right?"

The nervous storm within Jisung's heart worsened. His breathing quickened as he began to panic. His head hurt. His body trembled.

"I don't understand! I swear, I don't remember any of these happening to me!" He held in a sob. "Yes, I clearly remember how Minho left me, but we reunited after that."

"We even spent Halloween, Christmas and New Year's eve together. Oh, and don't even get me started when we bought a new house—"

"Jisung," Changbin cut him off. "Are you... feeling alright? October hasn't even started, yet you're already talking about Halloween? It's still July."

"I mean, it's quite understandable though. You've been unconscious for a month, so you'd most likely forget about what month it is right now."

Agony overwhelmed Jisung when he was struck with realization. Had he been dreaming this entire time?

Had he been so desperate to see Minho again that he started to create all those fake scenarios in his head? No. There was no way.

"Maybe I should try to sleep," he mumbled, grimacing when he felt pain on the side where he had been injured.

He was tired, and yet he was restless since he couldn't shake off those horrifying thoughts in his head. He had been dreaming this whole time.

He sighed deeply, but no matter what he did, he could not distract himself from his trepidation. He closed his eyes and focused on taking deep breaths, but not even that worked.

It was no use, he just couldn't fall asleep. "Minho... I love you." Tears ran down his face and soon enough, he had cried himself to sleep.

To be continued...
