Against all odds - Minsung [✔]
When the waiter brought the salads they had ordered, Jisung got to witness a rather entertaining scene. The demon shoved the food into his mouth and chewedâbut then he gagged, coughing dramatically.
Thinking he had choked on his food, Jisung worriedly glanced at him only to be met with his smoldering glare. "Jisung! What is this crap?"
"H-Huh? What are you talking about? It's food."
"Don't tell me you humans eat this green poison shit for dinner! What's wrong with you?" he said offendedly. "Don't order this again."
Before he could cause a scene, Jisung tried to calm him down and find out what the issue was. "You don't like the salad?" he asked.
"The salad is fine, but this is a problem," Minho grumbled and picked up a piece of cucumber with his fork. "I have never tasted something so bad in my entire life."
Jisung snorted, hiding his wide smirk behind his hand. It was hard to hold back a chuckle when he realized that Minho had made such a fuss over a little cucumber.
"It's a regular vegetable," he grinned, a little surprised that Minho had never tried it. "It's very healthy. You definitely need it."
"Hell no, this is a fucking poison in disguise!"
"Oh my God, I can't believe you!" Jisung lost his composure and ended up bursting out in laughter. The way Minho got worked up over the cucumber in his salad was hilarious!
The next day, something even weirder than the cucumber incident happenedâthey encountered an amateur exorcist when they visited the nearby town, Santa Cruz.
"A-A demon!" the woman cried, fetching a bottle from her backpack. She opened it and threw a load of holy water straight at Minho.
"Run for your life!" the exorcist yelled at Jisung, but he just gawked at her. He didn't understand what was going on with this woman.
"What are you waiting for?" she shouted, staring at him in disbelief. "Get away from that demon before he will drag you to hell."
"Huh?" Jisung said, completely confused. "What? I already visited hell a few times, and it's not that bad. You're exaggerating."
The woman's eyes nearly fell from their sockets. Her jaw dropped. Her expression looked ridiculous to Minho who was torn between being angry and amused at her stupidity.
When her warnings didn't push Jisung to move away from Minho, the exorcist decided to change her approach. She sprayed holy water at Jisung too, but Minho wasn't having it.
"Mind your own business, human," he grumbled and glared at the exorcist. "Your stupidity is getting annoying."
"W-Why isn't it working?" the woman stuttered, slowly inching backward. Her face was white as a sheet.
"I'm not some low-class demon," Minho growled. "Of course holy water won't work on me. How dare you think lowly of me."
"What is even going on, Minho?" Jisung asked, confusion visible in his expression. "Why won't this woman just leave us alone?"
"This idiot is an exorcist, apparently," Minho snickered.
"Ohhhh, I see. You shouldn't bother demons," Jisung said, directed at the woman. "If you had encountered someone else, they might not have let you off the hook so easily."
"W-Who are you?" she asked, wide-eyed. "Why are you clinging onto this disgraceful creature and treating him as if he's human?!"
"Me?" Jisung responded. "Uh, I'm justâ"
"He's my husband and you better not bother him anymore. Or else you'll regret it," Minho cut in, prompting Jisung to blush. That was finally enough to make the exorcist leave.
Jisung looked after her as she hurried to the next street corner, disappearing. He shook his head. "What a weirdo," he mumbled.
Minho glanced at him, noticing that he looked flustered. He grinned and took Jisung's hand to pull him along. They continued to walk down the street as if nothing had happened.
"Why are you blushing, Jisung?" he teased.
"I am not blushing. Get your eyes checked."
"Yes you are," he smirked. "Is it because I called you my husband?" Jisung didn't answer and Minho's smirk only widened. "I knew it."
