Chapter 18

eighteen

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

Jisung stood in front of the kitchen counter, boiling some noodles. He was still dazed by the previous events that had just happened. Since when did his life go this downhill? He's now bounded to Minho, and neither the two of them know how to get rid of this 'curse' or whatever this is.

"When will those noodles be done cooking?" Minho whispered from behind, his cold breath blowing against Jisung's neck.

Jisung shuddered fearfully, forgetting about the boiling water right in front of him. A burning pain shot up in his hand when he accidentally touched the cooking pot, his skin turning red instantly.

"Damn it, Jisung!" Minho snarled, holding his aching hand. "You are so fucking clumsy! How are you even still alive?!"

He grabbed Jisung's wrist, pulling him over to the sink to pour cold water over his burn, hoping to reduce both of their pain. But it didn't help much.

"That's it. I'm tying you up. You are not going anywhere," He decided, but Jisung refused to let himself be treated like that.

"If you tie me up, I'll bite my tongue and slap my face for a million times until you regret it!" He said, putting his hands on his hips.

"Oh really?" Minho snickered. "I'll knock you out then."

"Wouldn't you knock yourself out too?" He grinned, and the demon rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Fuck."

They both sat across each other on the dining table, their eyes stealing glances at each other minute per minute.

"Um, Minho..." Jisung started. "I was thinking about asking help from a priest... You know, to get rid of this curse..." He mumbled. It was quite awkward to be talking about priests in front of a demon.

Minho shrugged. "Go on, I don't care. I want an end to this curse anyways."

"Okay, I'll go to the nearest church after we eat. But, are you fine being alone here for a couple of minutes, or even hours?" He asked thoughtfully but Minho scoffed back.

"Of course, I can. Don't think of me as a lowly creature."

Taken by determination, Jisung ran to the bathroom after he finished eating his breakfast. He got ready to leave the house, he changed his clothes and briefly brushed his wispy blond hair.

He rushed out the door, waving a goodbye at Minho before leaving. He sprinted down the quiet street.  Just like what the real estate agent said before, there were no other houses for atleast 5 miles, so barely any noise could even be heard.

After what felt like a 1-hour run, he finally arrived in the busy part of the place. From a distance, he easily spotted the huge church. He knew that the mass in the church must have already ended a few minutes ago, meaning that the priest was most likely still there.

This was his chance! Running even faster in desperation, he didn't stop until he had reached the large wooden doors of the church. Entering quickly, he passed many empty rows of seats, gazing up at the altar where he spotted an old man wearing clothes of a priest.
