Chapter 39

thirty-seven

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

"What brings you guys here?" Jisung asked the two demons, his eyes beaming in delight and curiosity. He also couldn't help but notice the peculiar clothes that they wore.

Seungmin sported a bright red suit and a necklace made of what seemed like human skulls. Meanwhile, Chan wore a black leathered crop top, showing off his abs.

He blushed and redirected his gaze to somewhere else, but he wasn't fast enough. "Like what you see?" Chan teased, getting him even more flustered.

"I'll throw you out in a second if you don't shut the hell up." Minho was very furious at this point, glaring at the mischievous demon so hard that his eyes started emitting a red ominous glow.

"Don't worry. I'm not here to steal your boy, Minho," he chuckled, nudging Seungmin who just laughed.

"Yeah, yeah. I know that."

Jisung faintly blushed and he avoided the other demons' amused stares by lowering his head. Firstly, what did Chan mean when he called him Minho's boy?

And secondly, why did Minho not deny his statement? They weren't even a couple or anything.

"We wanted to meet you, Jisung. So that's why we came here," Chan said. "But Seungmin ruined our supposedly 'friendly visit' with his dumb teleportation shit."

"You're just jealous because you can't do it," Seungmin shot back with a snicker, and he received a middle finger from Chan in response.

"How did you survive living with this idiot for so long?" He asked Jisung, ignoring Chan's glare at him.

"I have no idea either," he sighed, shaking his head.

"What the fuck? You should ask me how I survived with this human!" Minho cut in, exasperatedly throwing his arms up.

"He needs constant babysitting and he even burns himself while cooking! And don't even get me started on that time he tripped on Mochi and wounded his shins!"

Jisung rolled his eyes, momentarily stopping to stroke the cat that looked up at him and meowed. "How dare you. You're making it sound like I'm an idiot."

"That's because you are! Don't you remember when you ate a bar of soap, thinking it was cake?"

Jisung blushed in mortification, hearing the two other demons chuckle. "D-don't mention that! I was drunk!"

"Ah, yes. You were drunk," he drawled. "But were you also drunk that time when you tried to remove the broken light bulb in the kitchen and stumbled on the ladder?"

"S-shut up!"

"If I hadn't caught you, you would've broken your neck."

"I'm not that fragile, you ass!" He yelled in embarrassment, his cheeks turning into a brighter shade of red. "You're the idiot here!"

Minho's eyes darkened as he leaned closer to him, their noses almost touching. Jisung gulped, overwhelmed by his piercing gaze. He completely forgot about the two other demons in the room, his eyes only locked on to Minho's.

"To end our pointless argument, let's just say that we're both idiots," he said huskily, almost kissing Jisung but then he suddenly pulled away when he remembered who else were in the room.

"Aww, they're so in love," Chan snickered and exchanged an amused glance with Seungmin.

"Are you guys only here to get on my nerves?" Minho grumbled, rolling his eyes.

"No, not at all," Chan replied before he unexpectedly went serious, a darker tone appearing in his eyes. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees, watching Jisung thoughtfully.

"After Felix told us about you, we figured that we should warn you."

"Why?" Minho asked sharply.

"We heard some rumors from other demons this past week. Some of them... the ones that hate humans, are banding together. They want to seek out demons that are bonded to humans and kill them."

"It sounded serious and we wanted to make sure you are aware of it. Right now, it seems like they don't know about you two, but that might change sooner or later," he added and Jisung shuddered in fear, hugging Mochi close to his chest.

To be continued...

Tomorrow is the last day of my exams gwahhhhh
