Against all odds - Minsung [✔]
"You resemble him in some way," Minho said softly. "Even your faces almost look the same. That's why at first, I couldn't bring myself to look at you or even be around youâwhich is why I wanted to kill you," he explained hesitantly.
Jisung stared at him with wide eyes, not having expected this to be the reason. In the beginning, he had thought that Minho simply hated him with all his heart just because he is a human.
"I kept comparing you to him since you two are similar in certain aspects; too clumsy and kindhearted," he explained and shook his head before letting out a sigh. "However, the more I got to know you, the less you reminded me of him..."
Silence fell upon them, tension rising. "Don't get me wrong though. There is just no reason to compare you to Dongmin," he answered and finally looked at Jisung. "You won't die like him. I'm going to make sure of it."
"I trust you on that," he smiled, relieved that the demon had already let go of his pessimistic thoughts. "And one more thing; if you run away from me again, I am going to be very angry."
Minho smiled tentatively, the corners of his lips tilting. "You don't need to worry about that. I'm not going anywhere. You're a hopeless klutz and you attract trouble like a magnet," he remarked. "I shouldn't have left you alone for a month... but I didn't know any better."
"You should learn from that mistake," he answered lightheartedly.
"We should go back to your world soon. It's not wise to stay here," Minho said, glaring at a few low-class demons that had dared to approach them, their glowing eyes watching Jisung closely.
"So suddenly?" He said and gaped at the demon. "I... I thought we'd stay here for at least a few more hours."
"It's too dangerous for you to stay here," he grumbled and this time, Jisung's pouty expression didn't work on him. He didn't change his opinion on the matter and didn't give in either. Releasing some of his demonic magic, he created a portal right in front of them.
It looked like a tear in space that led into a black voidâto Jisung, it appeared terrifying and the idea of stepping through it made him shudder. "It looks creepy," he whined and tugged at Minho's sleeve. "I don't think I can walk through that."
"Oh sugar, don't be a chicken. It isn't bad at all. You won't feel a thing," Minho tried to reassure him but to no avail. "Don't you trust me?" He asked and held his out to Jisung.
"I trust you, but not that portal," he said, hesitating to take the demon's hand.
Minho rolled his eyes, getting impatient very quickly. "Come on. We need to get through the portal if we want to leave hell. There is no other way," he sighed, and then he had an idea. A devious smirk appeared on his lips.
Jisung let out a gasp when Minho picked him up and carried him towards the portal. "No, please! You can't be serious!" He screeched and hit the demon's chest with his fists.
"Close your eyes if you're that scared, sugar," he smirked, but his smirk soon vanished when Jisung started to tug at his hair. He scowled. "Stop that! How old are you, five?!"
"Put me down!" He nagged. "You evil, malicious demon! How dare you!" He sputtered and Minho rolled his eyes at his overdramatic exclamation and stepped through the portal without another word.
Jisung flinched and hugged Minho's neck, but he kept his eyes open while they were in the strange dark void. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the bleak scenery of hell through the portal, but shadows soon covered it and they were left in a completely dark space.
"I told you to close your eyes, but you never listen to me," Minho whispered when he noticed the human's uneasiness. Only seconds later, another portal opened right before them, and this one led straight to the front porch of Jisung's house. He jumped through and landed safely on the wooden floor.
"See? It wasn't so bad," he said and carefully put Jisung down.
"Of course you would say that," he mumbled as they entered the house, unlocking it only to see Mochi jumping up and downâexcited to see them both. "Welcome home, Minho," he said with a sweet smile and turned on the lights.
