Against all odds - Minsung [✔]
In the first few weeks after Minho's return, Jisung couldn't have been happier since his flat was no longer empty and lonely.
He grew used to the demon's presence very quickly, and after a few more days had passed, they were returning to their old habits.
Making dinner together and watching movies until he fell asleep and snuggled up to Minho on the sofa became normal.
It wasn't unusual for him to wake up on his bed the next morning, and Minho most of the time joined him, so the first thing he would see when he opened his eyes was the demon's smug grin.
Another funny thing is, Minho would sometimes complain about Mochi's presence, getting jealous over how the cat demon could easily steal Jisung's attention.
However, he seemed to tolerate the cat demon lately and only rarely got a little irritated whenever it was around.
Today, he had accompanied Jisung in the living room to watch a show. Jisung had told him that he had something really important to tell him. He didn't specify what the matter was about, but he seemed really determined to talk about it.
Minho sat down next to him, returning his attention to the tv screen. Jisung on the other hand, kept watching him. The living room was relatively dark, but the black and white movie that was playing stood out regardless.
Jisung sighed to himself, getting lost in his thoughts. Over the past few days, he had continuously been thinking about something important that he had yet to do... He shouldn't delay it any longer since he didn't know what the future would bring.
Only a few weeks ago, when he'd been so close to dying, he had regretted not going through with it earlier. He needed to act now, but the thought alone made him nervous. How should he tell Minho that he was in love with him?
He felt helpless about this, he wasn't sure if it was a good idea to just blurt it out. Minho was rather bold when it came to certain things, but he on the other hand was more on the shy side. His cheeks flushed as he imagined confessing to him.
How would he react to that? Would he laugh it off? Tease him? Did he even... love him back? Maybe his heart was still caught up on Dongmin...
It was obvious that he meant a lot to Minho even after all these years. He must've been a really gorgeous and kind man, and Jisung wouldn't be surprised if he was dull and boring in comparison.
He was aware of how Minho had cared about him so much, but ever since he had heard about Dongmin, he started to have doubts. Was Minho really in love with him for who he really is? Or was Minho just in love with him because he had similarities with his ex?
He frowned. The longer he thought about it, the more insecure he became. However, if he didn't go through with it now, he would only regret it later.
He had to make sure that Minho knew how he felt... Taking a deep breath, he made up his mind and pushed his doubts far away.
His hopeful brown eyes came to rest on Minho and he reached out a hand to him, parting his lips to speak, but no words would come out of his mouth.
What should he say? What should he do? Panicking, he retracted his hand and bit his lip.
"Is something wrong?" Minho asked, making him flinch.
His eyes studied Jisung and hovered over him suspiciously, moving from his crossed arms, parted lips, and the flabbergasted expression in his face.
"N-Nothing is wrong," he laughed awkwardly. "I, uh... just wanted to ask if you... want something to drink? Because I was... about to head to the kitchen." To prove his point, he got up.
Minho followed his every move, and his suspicion rose. "I'm not thirsty," he replied and stared after Jisung as he walked to the kitchen. "Is that what you really wanted to tell me, though?"
