Against all odds - Minsung [✔]
The next evening, the doorbell was ringing, surprising Jisung who had just finished washing the dishes after dinner.
Mochi had been observing him curiously, and when the small demon heard the noise, it shot off towards the front door with lightning speed.
He followed the little cat amusedly and opened the front door to see Chan and Seungmin who were smiling mischievously.
But something else had caught his attention. The two demons seemed heavily injured. They had scars and scratches all over their bodies.
"H-Hello," he said nervously. "Are you guys okay? Please come in."
As they walked through the hallway to the kitchen, Chan answered, "Don't worry about us. We're fine. We've heard interesting news from Felix, and we came here to congratulate you two."
They reached the kitchen the second Minho arrived and joined them. "What a surprise to see you guys here," he said and leaned against the kitchen counter, crossing his arms.
"Are you being sarcastic?" Seungmin mocked, staring him down with his eerie piercing eyes. "Chan insisted that we should visit after he heard that you guys are a couple now."
"Felix is such a damn gossip," Minho nagged. "Doesn't know how to shut up." He stared at his friends for tedious seconds, noting the wounds all over their bodies.
"You wonder where we got this?" Chan said after noticing his concerned look. "Well, you better thank us. You're finally free from your curse."
"Excuse me? What...? What are you talking about?"
"Long story short. We visited a witch because we wanted to help you out. You've been dealing with this curse of yours for long enough already. And let's just say that that witch was a hard one to deal with."
"What did you guys exactly do?!" He yelled. "You guys placed yourselves in a very dangerous situation!"
"Listen, you don't need to know what we really did. But trust us. You don't have to worry about him anymore. You should thank us instead!"
"Yeah, the ungrateful idiot never pays us back!" Seungmin grumbled.
"Oh really?" Jisung chimed in and glared at Minho, inwardly feeling amused when the demon froze under his stare, his jaw dropping.
"No, that's not true!" He defended himself. "I... I'm thankful. But it's just that, this is all so sudden. Are you guys sure that this isn't a joke?"
"If you don't believe us, then go and see for yourself," Chan suggested.
"Fine." Minho walked through the hallway to the front door. He slowly unlocked the door, letting fresh wind inside the house.
This was the moment he had been waiting for all his life. As he stood on the front porch, he let out a deep breath.
He slowly walked further and was surprisedâthe strong barrier or force which had trapped him in this house for so long was gone.
He was finally free. He was so happy and excited that he ended up rolling on the grass on the front lawn.
He didn't care anymore if he looked like a crazy person in front of Jisung and his friends.
All that really mattered to him now was that he had finally obtained the freedom that he'd been longing for.
And this was all thanks to his friends.
