Chapter 85

eighty-three

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

Minho returned with the drinks and was oblivious to everything that had just happened. Jisung didn't even bother telling him about it because he wouldn't want to ruin their night together.

"Look! There they are!" Felix's voice yelled over the sound of the music. Jisung turned around and saw the other demons approaching them. They were dressed up too, just as they had planned together.

"Hi! Have you been here for long?" Jisung asked.

"Yeah, we've tried to call you, but it looks like you didn't notice," Chan said, shrugging his shoulders. "It's not surprising though, given how loud the music is."

"No. It's not the loud music that's the problem. I think he's deaf," Seungmin chimed in and earned a threatening glare from Minho.

"We were about to go dancing, are you with us?" Felix asked. His ghost costume looked... well, yeah, as expected—a white blanket with two holes cut out for his eyes.

"Let's go, Minho," Jisung said and didn't even wait for a response, grabbing his wrist to pull him along. They all walked into another hall that was packed with people. The music here was louder, the bass booming in their ears.

Before Jisung knew it, they were in the middle of the wildly dancing crowd, surrounded by moving bodies. He shuddered when he felt Minho's hands wander to his hips, gliding up and down his sides and following the shape of his body.

His touches made Jisung feel hot, and for a brief moment,  he forgot that they were in fact in the middle of a crowded dancefloor. His heartbeat accelerated in happiness. He really did have a great time tonight, and he never wanted it to end.

The heat that built in between them was intoxicating. Breathing heavily, Jisung mustered up his courage and initiated their kiss. If there was something he could never get enough of, it was Minho.

Sadly, it didn't last forever. Jisung was torn from the sweet moment when someone tapped his shoulder. Breaking the kiss, he glanced at Chan and Seungmin who were beckoning him to follow them.

They must have been dancing nearby, but Jisung had been too preoccupied to even notice them. They gathered in a quieter area where it wasn't as crowded and talked animatedly to each other.

Felix pulled Jisung aside, a sly smirk on his face as he said, "you know, you weren't supposed to go all out in public like that. Would have never thought I would see you do this."

That caused Jisung to blush. "I forgot that we had an audience..."

Felix laughed, patting his back. "Don't worry, it's kind of cute, actually."

They went back to the others who were in the middle of a conversation that revolved around Minho. The demon stood with his arms crossed and looked ready to murder someone.

Quickening his steps, Jisung went back to his side and clung to his arm to make sure he wouldn't do something stupid. "What's going on?" He asked curiously.

"Why don't you go ask Jeongin yourself?" Minho shot back, annoyed.

"I just planned something special for tonight, come on!" Jeongin said, not noticing the tension that suddenly hung in the air. "It's Halloween, we can't let this pass without having a real scare!"

"What are you on about this time?" Felix sighed, exchanging a look with Seungmin. For some reason, they already had a gut feeling that this would not end well.

"I did some research and found a supposedly haunted building that isn't too far from here. We could even walk there on foot," Jeongin grinned. "It would be the perfect opportunity for a dare."
