CHAPTER 32 - THE REASON

सौ बार तलाश किया हमने खुद को खुद में

एक तेरे सिवा कुछ नही मिला मुझको मुझ में!

~•Geet's POV •~

“It was a wonderful but tiring day,” Vihaan said, lying on the sofa when we reached home after seeing Jal Mahal.

“I agree Vihaan Bhai”Kavya replied, tying her hair in a bun while we all four were resting here and there in the hall.

“Dhruv, Geet foot must be paining.Go bring some water after boiling it”Garv banna teased him when he noticed me massaging my foot sitting on a chair.

As soon as I heard the words coming, I kept my foot on the floor and replied“No, I am fine.”

Avantika headed towards the room taking her bag and Garv banna followed her. Is there something going on? Should I go? He looked puzzled after noticing his friend following my sister.

Mrs. Raichand aka Mom was on her way home from her office. The cook was busy preparing dinner for us. Kavya was roaming around the hall talking on the phone with mumma.

I decided to go in the direction of them to check what's going on between them. Basically our room where we are staying is in the last portion of the flat.

I walked only to find them , from a distance, talking standing outside of the room. I felt footsteps following and it was Dhruv.

“I hope Garv and Avantika don't end up fighting” He prayed walking beside me and holding my dupatta which I struggled to manage as I had no energy left after a tour of Jaipur.

“Dhruv, don't you think we are hurting Avantika?”I asked, looking at him expecting him to answer my question.

“No. I don't know. Maybe. We should talk to her once”He suggested and we reached .They stopped and looked at us. Maybe they were discussing, no they were debating.

“Geet jija, he thinks I am a villain who doesn't want to see my sister happy ”Avantika informed, in a painful voice, and hugged me.

“Why?Wait a minute,  what's happening?” We asked simultaneously and his best friend took a breath, looking at us.

“Ask her why she is against you?”Garv banna asked and smirked.

“Who are you to whom should I tell  all these things?”Avantika rebelled back and stood right in front of him. I can sense he is nervous now.

I know he has a crush on her and it's obvious to be in this condition where you lack words.

“ahh…I should go now.”Saying this, he took two steps back and walked forward towards the hall.

“Avantika,you can't do this every time. I know you are straight forward when it comes to words but still you should know when you have to use it. I won't tolerate it next time” I warned and informed, holding her from arms.

“Wow, See Dhruv she is fighting with me only for you and your best friend”She replied and smiled.

“I am not fighting with you. There's a limit for everything. ”I spoke slowly, keeping the fact in my mind that we were at Vihaan's place.

“Dhruv and Geet jija, there is no chance of you being together in future. I know my words are not less than poison but you have to accept it and for God's sake, accept reality”She informed and looked at us, adjusting her kurti sleeves.

“What do you mean? ” He asked and continued, “You said your aapsa doesn't like me. Now you want me to accept the reality that we can't be together”

I couldn't stand this anymore. I felt a pain in my chest . I can't let him know what's going to happen next .No,I don't want to spoil my mood and Jaipur trip.  I didn't say anything and left them. I went to the room without letting them know or to be precise I didn't open my mouth.

~•Dhruv's  POV•~

Why did she leave without saying anything? Maybe she has a headache, I remembered she mentioned while driving back home.

“Dhruv,  ab bhi keh rahi hu chod do meri behen ko! Wese bhi chance hai nahi aapka. Kyu Dukhi hona chahte ho?''Her sister spoke the words without realizing the effect on me, my heart .

(I am telling you please leave me sister! There is no chance of yours. Why do you want to hurt yourself?)

“Chodna hota toh nibhane ka wada kyu karta mai? Pyaar kiya hai majak nahi and muje har roop mein woh hi pasand hai. Rooh se mohabbat hai, ab toh aakhiri saans bhi uske liye hogi and agle janam mai bhi usse hi maangugaa. Jo hoga seh lunga khushi khushi.”

I replied and she was surprised to hear my answer.

(If I had plans to leave her, why would I promise to stay? It's not a joke, I love her and I love her in every form. I love her soul and now the last moment of my life will be for her and I will ask for her in my next lifetime. I am ready to face everything happily)

“Aapko lagta hai muje maja ata hai ye sab karne mai? I respect your love for each other but do you know the consequences if you don't end up getting married?”She asked firmly and I could see in her eyes why she was against us.

(Do you really think I enjoy doing this?)

“Say clearly what you want to say exactly”I asked her as I really want to know what's going on in her mind.

“Listen carefully, you, Geet jija and your best friend Mr.Chauhan have labeled me as Villain. On a serious note, I want to tell you that if you don't marry each other because of some reason or other, you will break yourself in the worst possible way. I don't  want that. I can't see my sister crying and suffering all her life just because she loves you so much and in the end she will get a heartbreak ”She replied with tears in her eyes.

I don't know why but her words expressed her love and concern for her. She doesn't want her to get hurt . She doesn't want to see her suffering if it doesn't go as we have planned.

“But we can  convince our families , right?” I asked, showing a ray of hope in form of the words

“Dhruv, in my family, there is no one who has married in your family. Like we do have relations with Mr.Chauhan's family and relatives but with you, we don't have any. I don't think my family will take that first initiative to fix my sister's alliance with you. And my aapsa wants her daughters to get married in Chauhans or Rathores,  not in Deoras”

“Atleast we can think something, we can comeup with a solution . There's nothing impossible”I said but her words were reality. That's true we don't  have any family relations the way Garv has with them.

“Okay. I will be in your team and I will try my best to do anything for my sister but if you try to hurt her in case you get married to her. Don't forget what I can do?”She warned and pointed her finger ,turned to open the door and closed after she went inside.

“Wow,Ms. Avantika is on our side. Now it's gonna be fun” I turned only to find my friend leaning on the wall.

“What are you doing here ? Didn't she see you here? ” I asked, holding his wrist and walking towards our room.

“I can't trust her and I was here for your safety. What if she punches you? And I was standing behind the wall” He replied  and giggled.

I smiled and we went to have our dinner. Tomorrow is Day 2 of Jaipur trip and we planned to visit Govind Devji to attend the aarti early in the morning . We have to wake up at 2.30am so  that girls can get ready on time and we can reach there before 4.30am.

I am familiar with the fact that Rainbow can't wake up early in the morning unless she takes a proper sleep. So no balcony convo tonight.

The Next Morning

“Subah 4 baje kon jaata hai mandir?”Kavya said, resting her head on Avanti's shoulder. We were 20 minutes away from the temple. Vihaan's eyes were on the road while driving and I was in the passenger seat,busy admiring my Geetanjali with the help of the front mirror.

(Who goes to the temple in the morning at 4am?)

Garv was on the last seat, scrolling his phone. She was sleeping, closing her eyes and resting her head on Avantika's right shoulder.

“Dhruv, if you want you can sit with my sister.”Avantika teased, bringing my attention to hers when she noticed me looking at her sister.

I peeked outside of the window and my best friends laughed seeing me and I tried my best to not show them my face which had a curve in the form of a smile.

“Yeah Dhruv, even Avantika has granted the permission.” Garv joined her and put his phone away.

I didn't say anything and then we realized we reached our first stop of the day. So basically after Govind Devji our plan is to visit and explore Amer Fort.

“Geet jija and Kavya, get up.” Avantika said, making them wake up and she looked at me with her sleepy eyes.

“I want to sleep.”She said, hugging her sister.

“Dhruv, I wish it was you instead of Avantika”Garv teased, getting outside of the car.  I went back and opened the car door.

“Wakeup, we have reached”I said in a soft tone.

Kavya wokeup and she got out but it is totally impossible to wake up my Rainbow. I know this very well because in these 27 months there were many instances where she was so sleepy that we didn't talk for days.  I used to call and she was busy sleeping and other morning she used to send me huge paragraphs mentioning how she fell asleep.

The remaining four were enjoying my failure.

“Aapke aapsa ko pata chal gaya ki ham ek dusre se pyaar karte hai” I said, leaning towards her while she slept on Avantika's shoulder.

(Wake up aapsa got to know we love each other)

“Kese? kab?Kisne bataya?” She raised and questioned one by one , shocked and surprised hearing my words.

(How? When? Who told him?)

Everyone stood astonished looking at how I woke up with just one sentence.

“Nothing. It was a joke. Aarti will start at 4.30am .Only five minutes are left .” Vihaan informed and she managed to come outside of the car, adjusting her dupatta and hair.

“Aise koi joke karta hai?” She asked,  entering the temple main gate.

(Who jokes like that?)

“Aise koi sota hai? ” I replied and smiled.

(Who sleeps like that?)

We removed our sandals and shoes outside and started walking towards the temple. We reached and panditji had already started the early aarti.

The whole crowd started singing the aarti and we joined them too. One forgets everything, their miseries, their sorrow,  their struggles, their hardships as soon as they step inside of the temple and stand in front of Him.

We prayed one by one and started pradakshina (walking around the god's statue in a temple). We both were at the last from our group and I followed her.

I noticed her dupatta touching the ground and I bent to hold it and raised only to find her eyes amazed.

“Any plan to recreate the scene from Shershah?” She asked ,removing it from my hand and walking further.

“I don't have any but why not just do it” I replied and followed her to complete the pradakshina.

“Dhruv, stop being so filmy” She said while her palms joined each other.

“I can be anything if you are the reason” I replied casually following her and she looked at me with her wide eyes.

She didn't open her mouth and we reached outside of the temple after staying inside for an hour.

We planned to have our breakfast first because for Amer fort we have to climb the stairs as it is situated on top of the hill. We had our breakfast and how could we forget we have two chai lovers with us -Garv and Rainbow and the remaining four are coffee people.

It was 8.30am  already and we were on our way to  Amer fort after visiting one more temple as the entrance opens at 8am in the morning.

“Mr. Cricketer, have you both ever gone on a date? ” Kavya asked eagerly, looking at me.

Suddenly I remembered our friend's date around 2.5 years back when I visited Hyderabad. I checked the date only to realize today we have completed three years together since we first met.

“No.” I replied and everyone was astonished hearing it.

She frowned her eyebrows and I guess she might be thinking about our friend's date.

“Then you must go tonight and have a good date with each other”Avantika suggested and Kavya started murmuring.

“Ye kabse team mai aa gai? ”

(when did she join our team?)

“Kal raat se ” Garv answered and Avantika didn't pay him any attention.

(Yesterday night)

“Vihaan bhai what say?”She asked him who was driving  through the hills.

“I know a good restaurant here. You can go there , you both first stop being shy and don't miss this chance” Vihaan ordered and parked the car.

Kavya, Avantika and Garv joined him in supporting Mission Date.

We refused at first as to what we should inform Mrs Raichand but my genius friends came with a plan that they will be in a nearby restaurant for  dinner and we will be in another restaurant for our date.

So we finally came to a decision that tonight is Date night with Rainbow.

As soon as we entered the gate, there was a huge garden where one can witness a marvelous view of greenery.

We headed towards the way and started climbing to reach the topmost part of the fort. On our way, we talked on so many topics related to our school days and college life. Kavya shared about her Hindi teacher, how she replied that she was adopted.

Then we noticed a keychain seller and stopped there. As usual, Kavya started looking  and asked him to make a customized one of her name .

“Heart or Bird? ” She asked us,  before finalizing a shape, to stick the words on it.

“Heart”Vihaan and Avantika replied .

She gave him the heart shaped keychain for the base and she wrote her name on a piece of paper.

“Ye do logo ka naam hai? ” The seller asked, looking at Kavyapriya written on the paper .

(Is it the name of two people?)

“Ye mera hi naam hai bhaiya. Mere aapsa urf papa ne rakha hai” She replied while the remaining two sisters were looking at the available options.

(It's my name. It was named by my aapsa)

“We are seeing a trailer of our future, Dhruv”Garv murmured, standing beside me.

“what?” I asked ,a little shocked as I tried understanding his words.

He showed his hand,  pointing at them and then at us making me understand what he actually  wanted to convey.

“Dhruv, is this okay? ” Avantika asked me and Garv was furious at the way she ignored him.

I nodded . They got their order done and we were almost to reach .

“My legs are about to die,”Kavya said,finding it difficult to walk further.

“Only legs?” Avantika asked, turning and looking at us, who was still energetic.

What about her? I looked at her and her face turned pale only to realize  she had no energy to walk more. It's quite understandable that they are not familiar with walking this long except Avantika.

We stopped at a spot where a man was playing  a folk instrument called kamaicha. We listened while some recorded his video.

We headed inside of the fort and started looking in various directions. Avantika gave her phone to Vihaan to click some pictures. While Garv was busy clicking ours. Kavya asked us to follow her commands to come up with new poses.

“I can't see the chemistry,”Kavya complained, looking at our pictures on Garv's phone.

“You will get to see that in our post wedding shoots but now we can't take risks”I told and held her hand to show her the fort.

She followed my steps matching my energy and I looked back to see her confused face to figure out where we were heading to.
