Krey left his meetings when lunchtime approached. The morning had whizzed by, but Krey kept checking the time and counting the minutes until he could see his mate again.

On the way to the stairs, Krey sniffed the air. Pip's sweet scent weakened when he got closer to the bedroom. Krey turned back down the corridor and followed his smell.

Krey passed the canteen and continued towards the games room. Pip scent was getting stronger and stronger. Krey wondered if his shy mate had been brave enough to mingle with his pack, or if Pip had been brave enough to wander on his own.

Krey stopped by the games room. A few werewolves sat on the floor by the window playing Monopoly. One werewolf fiddled with the TV remote and another was organising the leads behind the TV.

Krey then saw the person who made his heart flutter.

Pip was curled on the couch in the corner of the room, cosy in a blanket, and content with a book in his hand. Of course I'd find him reading, Krey thought, approaching him like a wolf approaching its prey. Every step was silent. Pip didn't notice him, even when Krey was right in front of him. Pip was too engrossed in what he was reading.

Krey pulled the book down from Pip's face, and Pip looked up like he had forgotten where he was. "Krey!" he chirped with a big smile. "Are you finished with meetings?"

Krey nodded and sat next to him, making sure to leave no space between them. He fussed over the book in Pip's hands, pretending to be interested. "What're you reading?"

"A vampire book. It's called A Mouth Full of Blood."

Krey's oak eyes glinted with amusement. "Sounds shit."

"Actually, there's a character similar to you. He's pretty grumpy."

Krey cocked a brow and wrapped an arm around Pip's shoulders. His heart just about exploded when Pip cupped his hand in both of his. Pip's fingers were a little cold, so Krey pulled him even closer. "Where did you find the book?" he asked.

"uh..." Pip wasn't allowed to mention the mound of books he had seen in the canteen. "O-One of your um, Omega's gave it to me."

Krey softly traced a thumb along Pip's neck. "I see you found the Omega Medic."

"I found Sid too. He's on bed rest. We should, um, have lunch with him in the First Aid room," Pip suggested.

"No. He'll be fine."

Pip looked up with begging blue eyes.

Krey frowned, wondering how the hell someone could be so cute. He stared around Pip's face, cherishing the features he had learnt to adore: Pip's dimples, freckly nose, large blue eyes, and his round cheeks, adding to the hints of a baby face every time he smiled. "Fine," Krey grumbled, just to see those dimples deepen with a grin.

Sid was staring glumly into space as Pip and Krey entered the first-Aid room. His face lit up when Pip bounded over to the bed with a bowl of pasta, salad, and chicken for him.

Krey put a film on Pip's laptop and ate lunch with his injured Delta wolf and his tired mate.

Francis soon joined them, and Krey caught himself glancing at Pip on multiple occasions. If it weren't for his mate, Krey would have gone for a lonely walk around the building or sulked back to his room to eat lunch at his desk.

Krey had now connected with the pack more than ever. He couldn't let Pip live with a pack that was falling apart. His wolves needed to trust him, and Krey needed to trust his wolves for them to live peacefully together.

Sid fell asleep shortly after eating. Francis needed Krey for one last short meeting with Omegas, so Pip went to find his clothes.

He was getting better at asking wolves about directions, though he stuttered when he spoke to anyone other than Krey, Francis, or Sid. Everyone he asked had been polite. Pip managed to find his own way back to the stairs from the laundry room and was rather proud of himself. His clothes had been washed and dried. He couldn't wait to shower and change.

Krey's bedroom, despite being torn apart by enemy wolves, was feeling more and more like Pip's room too. The more nights he shared with Krey, the more he enjoyed waking up with strong arms around him, or a warm body on top of him.

As Pip showered, he thought about his life before Krey and how mundane his days had been. He wouldn't go back to that life even if he had a choice. Pip would miss the chaotic werewolf world, and the friends he was making.

Most of all, Pip would miss Krey. Living without someone to love ached his chest. The screaming emptiness was a frightful thought.

Pip hurried to wash his hair and hovered awkwardly by the shower door, knowing that as soon as he let the steam free, cold air would engulf him instead.

Pip tried to leave the shower and grab the towel in one swift motion. He rushed across the icy tiles and reached out, instead catching brown eyes staring from the bedroom.

He recoiled harshly, jumping out of sight of the doorway.

A deep chuckle echoed from the bedroom as Pip felt himself blushing. His clothes were on the other side if the bathroom. Pip would have to go in front of the doorway to dress himself. "C-Close your eyes," he stuttered, feeling his cheeks heat with more embarrassment.

Krey didn't reply, and Pip found himself wondering if he would like Krey's eyes on him, giving him the confidence he needed. Pip had seen Krey naked, but it wasn't the same with his own body. Pip peered around the door frame, surprised that Krey had respected his wishes and turned towards the broken window. Pip could see half his face and tilted his head at Krey's red cheeks.

I flustered him. Pip grinned and considered stepping into the bedroom to see Krey's reaction. Pip wasn't that brave and hurried to the towel.

He dressed as quickly as he could, slipping on underwear, then his light blue jeans with a rip on the thigh. As Pip tried to put on socks as quickly as possible because of the icy floor, he paused when warm fingers lightly brushed his lower back.

Pip turned his head. Krey was standing right behind him, staring at him with diluted pupils. The way he stared, half hungry, half in adoration, Pip wondered if Krey's strong urges was his werewolf side clawing through.

Pip was still yet to figure out what made humans and werewolf's so different, other than the fact they could turn into a wolf in minutes. He wanted to know Krey's wolf side as well as he knew his human side. Pip wanted to see when both sides mixed, and his wolf side leaked through his human characteristics, and how the humanity within him altered his wolf's actions.

He turned, letting Krey's hands grip his waist. His skin was always hot, but his grip was not always so rough. "I'm finished with my meetings now," Krey said deeply. He was aroused as his eyes travelled up and down Pip's bare chest.

Pip had seen that look before. He wanted a kiss as much as Krey, so he held Krey's stubbly face from a weekend of not shaving. Pip stood on his tiptoes and pulled their faces together. He felt relief leave his body when their lips touched, like his body had been starved of affection.

Krey kissed him passionately from the start. He was usually so gentle, but his arm looped around Pip's lower waist, clashing their bodies together.

Pip lost himself in the passion Krey offered. The way Krey kissed him made Pip desperate for more. Krey kissed him urgently, deeply, lovingly. Pip was gripping his back before he could think about why.

Heat rose between them. Krey's hand pushed between Pip's shoulder blades, kissing him harder.

Pip was still on his tiptoes and wrapped arms around Krey's shoulders. All it took was for Pip to grip the back of Krey's neck and he was lifted off the ground.

Krey carried him into the bedroom and lowered him onto the bed. He crawled over Pip, not once disconnecting their lips. Krey's leg slotted between Pip's legs and Pip moaned quietly. Before he could blush about it, Krey's tongue clashed with his.

Bliss.

Pip felt so good, he might as well have floated to the clouds. Kissing Krey was so freeing. Pip was comfortable as the affection overpowered him. He wasn't on guard, or stressing about how well he was doing, or what Krey wanted to do. Pip was content and relaxed. He trusted Krey to stop of he wanted him to stop. Pip knew in his heart that Krey would never hurt him.

Their tongues blended until Krey rolled onto his side, pulling Pip with him. Krey kissed him coarsely, grabbing at Pip's thigh, then running his hand up his leg. Pip was tugging at Krey's t-shirt. Krey growled deeply when his fingers touched his lower back, slipping under his t-shirt.

Instead of laughing at his growls, Pip only fell deeper into the affection.

Pip felt weightless when Krey kissed down his neck, biting softly at his skin, and clutching his body. The passion was hot, intense, and fogging their minds.

For a few minutes, Pip wondered how far Krey would go. He was okay with going further, but Krey soon slowed, returning to the gentle kisses and gentle strokes on his arm that Pip was used to. Krey held him with care and kissed him like his lips were made of delicate glass.

Krey ran a hand through Pip's hair and their lips separated, and they gazed sweetly into each other's eyes.

As if the world aligned just for them, they said in unison, "I love you."

Pip's breath hitched with a sudden breathlessness.

Krey was smiling at him.

The smile was honest, warm, and true. Krey's brown eyes shone bright and crinkled at the edges with happiness. His smile was so contagious, Pip smiled too, sharing such a personal moment with the boy who had given him everything.

Then they chuckled and Krey dropped his head against Pip's shoulder, unable to wipe the daft grin from his lips. He didn't want to. Pip had to see how he really felt, and Krey was the happiest he had ever been, like he spent his years on earth feeling empty, waiting to connect with the one his soul truly desired.
