[Fifty-Nine]
She Knows
|Chapter 59|

"I'm done eating Aunty Lara. Can we change and watch more tv?"
Aunty?! Cute but why does that make me feel old?
"Lara is fine hun. And you've watched this all day, I think we should do something else."
"Like what? There's nothing better to do," she folds her arms with attitude.
I glare at her playfully, "Come here, you sassy little miss." I grab her and began to tickle her and all that is heard are her adorable giggles.
After she's calmed down, I place her on the counter and tell her, "We're going to attempt to bake chocolate chip cookies."
"Ooooo, my favorites," she claps her hands together. Maybe I should tell her that I am not so good at baking. No pressure I guess.
"Are you good at baking?" I ask.
"Yup! I help momma all the time."
"Good. You tell me what to do and I'll do it."
She raises an eyebrow, "Shouldn't you know what to do?"
"Yes but... this is teamwork. K? No more questions please," I tell her.
"Fine."

After three hours of struggling, I did everything she told me, and now I'm finding out she purposely gave me the wrong directions.
"Get here you sneaky little witch," I chase her around the living room.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" she giggles. Then she suddenly stops in front of the tv. "Do you see that?"
"What?"
"That book wasn't there when we left." She's right. The book is lying under the tv stand, slightly sticking out. I know damn well Emilian does not read and this wasn't here when I arrived, so I'm kinda skeptical about it.
I grab it and say, "Maybe Emilian or the cleaners left it there."
"I've been looking towards the direction of the tv all day, and I think I would've noticed."
Opening it and flipping through, I pause to see a hole carved into the pages. A little earpiece sits in it. I quickly take a picture then she yucks it from my hand and smashes it.
"You should call Emmy," she places her hand on her hip.
I squint my eyes at her, "I know. I was gonna do that anyway and not because you told me to."
"Yeah. Ok."
"Go sit down and do something constructive Miss sassy lady," I tell her.
She runs off giggling.
I dial Emilian's number and no answer. I call twice more and still no answer. I guess I can call Lucian.
"What's up Elara, is everything ok?"
"Um, do you know where Emilian is?"
"Yes. Why?" Why?! That kinda triggered me.
"He's not answering me."
"What do you need?"
"Well, we just found an earpiece in the house and wanted to know what we should do," I tell him in an irritated tone.
"We?"
"Me and Leona."
"Pack a bag and go to Mama's house. And please don't call Emilian again."
"Why shouldn't I call my man?" I raise an eyebrow.
"He needs to focus and you're a distraction."
"Just tell him to call me when he's free," I roll my eyes and hang up.
"We're going to pack a few clothes and go to your home. Do you know your security's number?" I ask Leona.
"I already called him."
"Good. Now, do you want to help me pack?"
"I'm tired."
"You can take a nap when we get to your mom's."
"Fine," she groans.
She follows me to the closet and I pack as many clothes that can fit into the closet. I also pack, some of Emilian's just in case. Then I get our hygienic products because I cannot use other people's things for long.
When I'm done, I open the front door and there is a group of five men wearing dark blue from head to toe.
"Are you ready to leave Mrs. Moldovan?"
"Yes, and it's Ms. Suave," I correct them.
"Noted." He takes my bag and I pull a very sleepy Leona into my arms. Once we're in the car, she quickly falls asleep, holding her stuffed animal.
â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£
The ride was very silent and when I attempted to make conversation, their answers were short and nonchalant. On the bright side, Leona slept through the whole ride and is still in my arms as I enter their living section of the mansion.
"Oh my goodness, I missed my baby," Dana smiles and takes Leona. I sigh in relief because damn that little girl is really heavy. "Did you guys have fun?"
"We sure did. I was hoping we could've spent dinner together though."
"You can have dinner with us Elara, you're family now. I don't know why you guys didn't just stay here. It's much safer with all these people after Emilian." People after him?
"Um, yeah, I'm more than happy to have dinner with you guys. But I'm going to take a nap first."
"I understand," she signals a guard over. "Mihai, will you take her to Emilian's room," she smiles.
"Yes ma'am." He takes my bag and says, "Follow me."
He leads me to a door, not too far from the kitchen which I am very happy about. He swipes a key card and openness the door then passes it to me.
"Unfortunately ma'am this is as far as I can go. Welcome and enjoy," he smiles and walks off.
"Thank you." I walk into the large room and there's a huge bed in the center of it. More than enough space to keep my distance from Seb. I quickly change into sweats because it's strangely very cold in this room.
Just then, my phone rings and it's Emilian. Should I answer or should I ignore and make him call three times as I did? But that might make him worried. Fine, I'll answer.
"Baby, you called?"
"Yup and you ignored my call three times."
"I'm sorry, baby. Did you need anything?"
"You Seb. I needed you. Did Lucian not tell you anything?"
"No, I'm in the middle of something at the moment."
"I'll tell you what happened-," he cuts me off.
"Elara, I have to go. You can tell me everything when I get home," he hangs up. What the hell?
Why is he behaving so differently all of a sudden? I thought I could stay here for a month but with how he's acting, I am disappointed.
I can't decide whether I want to unpack my bag and see if anything changes or keep packed until I can book a flight. I want to spend at least a week here but I will miss Dana and Leona.
I will see how I feel after a well-deserved nap. As my head meets the pillow, there's a knock on the door.
Ugh, I'm too lazy to move. "Come in!"
When the door opens, I see a little Leona running towards the bed and jumping into it beside me.
"She refused to sleep by herself and wanted to come to lay with you," Dana speaks from near the door.
"It's fine, she's safe with me," I smile and pull her closer.
"I'll see you ladies in about two hours for dinner," Dana shuts the door.
"When's Emilian coming home?" she asks me.
"Soon I hope," I respond softly.
â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£
"Baby," I hear and feel soft lips on my forehead.
"Mhm," I mumble.
"Wake up baby, you have to eat dinner."
I slowly sit up, rubbing my eyes. This bed is so damn comfortable. "Where's Leona?"
"Sitting at the table."
"Ok." I get out of bed and go to the beautiful and
gigantic bathroom.
I look into the large mirror to check my appearance and my hair is now slightly frizzy from sleeping without anything on my hair.
I watch Seb walk in behind me with a confused look. "Why'd you just walk past me like that, love?"
I just shrug my shoulders because I don't have an answer for him. Grabbing a toothbrush and the toothpaste from the draw, I brush my teeth while he stands watching me.
When I'm done, I grab my phone and make my way down to the dining room.
"Lara! I saved a seat for you." She points to the vacant chair beside her, but Emilian sits on the chair beside that one. So instead, I sit in front of her.
"Is this good enough?"
"Yup, now I can look up and talk to you while I eat," she grins widely.
"Momma!" Leona shouts.
"Yes, sweetheart?" responds from the kitchen.
"Do you want to know what me and Lara did today?"
"Tell me everything."
"We had breakfast together and watched lots of tv. Then, we went shopping for clothes and stuffed animals. And we got home to eat food and baked cookies."
"Sounds fun sweetheart. How were the cookies?"
"Gross," she giggles.
"It's not my fault she gave me the wrong directions."
Dana laughs, "I'll give you my recipe if you want."
"Yes please, that would be much appreciated."
"Mama, may I spend next weekend with Lara?"
"You would have to ask her sweetheart."
Leona looks at me very hopeful and I say, "Hmm...maybe."
"Please," she drags out and gives me her best puppy eyes.
I playfully roll my eyes, "Ugh, fine."
"Yay!" she dances in her seat.
"Momma," Leona shouts again.
"Yes, Leona?"
"I'm hungry."
"I know sweetheart. Come and wash your hands please."
"Ok," her little legs move quickly as she goes to the kitchen.
"Ms. Suave," someone taps my shoulder. "For you." I turn to see one of the men dressed in dark blue, holding a large bouquet.
I open the note and it reads:

I look at him and he holds a sad expression on his face. "Thank you, Seb," I give him a small smile. "We can talk after dinner."
"You're welcome baby," he responds.
"The food is done and I made a vegetarian option for Elara. I hope you like it."
"Thank you. I'm sure I will."
