She Knows
|Chapter 65|

When we got home, we both changed into something comfortable. He's wearing a black Nike sweatsuit and I'm wearing an oversized sweatshirt with biker shorts.
"Hey, Dana. I was wondering if you mind Seb and I cooking dinner tonight."
"I am more than happy to let you guys cook. I wanted to lie down and relax anyway."
"Perfect! I'm just waiting for Seb."
"Okay. Oh and Carson will be over soon, so will you tell him I'm in my room?"
"Of course, enjoy your rest."
As she walks out, Seb walks in on the phone. "Yeah, Elara and I are about to cook. You guys are really missing out because you won't be tasting her food for a while.
I place my hand on my hip, "Really, baby?"
"Hi, Elara!" I hear both Lucian and Eliza shout.
"Hey, I was gonna call you guys earlier, but I forgot. How is everything?"
"We're great but we only have a week's worth of good food from your fridge left," Lucian says.
I sigh, "Just order food and I'll cook something for everyone when I get back."
Seb embraces me from behind and tells them, "Leave my baby alone. She'll cook when she feels like it. Call me later, we're going to make food now."
"Fine," Lucian hangs up.
"What do you want to make?" I ask him.
"Fried chicken please," he pleads.
"Seb, I don't want fried chicken to be the first thing I cook for your white family," I cross my arms.
"What? We don't believe in stereotypes,
love."
"Ok, but what are we making with it?"
"I'll make mamaliga and stewed cabbage. Sounds good?"
"Never had any of them but I'll try it."
Ten minutes into me prepping the chicken, Carson walks in. "Hello," I send him a small smile and he steps into the kitchen to observe.
"Where's my mother?" he speaks softly.
"In her room. Do you need anything from here? I can step out of the way."
He smirks, "Yes, but it'll be really hard to get it."
Almost immediately Emilian pulls out his gun. "Get out," he grins his teeth. "You know I won't hesitate to shoot, so leave."
Carson raises his hands, "You win," and he walks out.
I turn to Seb, "Baby-."
He cuts me off, "I don't want to talk about it."
"That's ok," I respond and just hug him until he relaxes a bit. "I love you."
He just continues to chop the cabbage. An 'I love you too' would have been great. I'll give him his space. Hopefully, he feels better after he eats.

We finished setting up dinner but before Seb and I join the others, I want to speak with him.
I drag him to the bedroom and make him sit at the edge of the bed. I stand in front of him with my arms folded and say, "I know you're upset about your brother-," he cuts me off.
"Please don't refer to him like that. The only brother I have is Luci."
"Ok, but please don't cut me off."
"Sorry."
"I don't understand what he meant by his statement and why it upset you, but please don't let that affect us."
"He wants you, Elara. That's what he meant."
"Baby, I don't care who wants me because all I want is you," I reassure him. "I know you think I should be with a younger man or someone you think would better suit me but I want you and only you. Do you understand?"
"Mhm." I lean down and peck his lips twice and he mumbles, "I love you so much."
"I love you too. Now lighten up and let's enjoy the dinner we made. Don't let Carson affect you."
"Can't we eat in here?"
"Nope, come on." I pull him off the bed. "For some reason, every time you stand, I'm surprised at how tall you are compared to me," I giggle.
He chuckles, "It's because I like to hold you so you don't feel bad for being short."
"Seb, I'm not even short so don't even try it. You're just hella tall for no reason."
"It's ok, love. You're my little, cuddly, teddy bear," he leans down to kiss me but I push his face
"Teddy bear? Really, Seb?"
"Yes, I love teddy bears," he smiles.
"Hmm ok, let's go."
Once we're downstairs, we join Dana, Carson, and Eugene at the dinner table. They are already halfway done with their food and demolishing the chicken.
Seb grabs the bowl from near Carson to find there is one piece of chicken left. Seb stands frozen, staring at the bowl. Oh no, I just got him to loosen up.
"Baby, come to the kitchen with me." I take the bowl from him and pull him towards the kitchen. As soon as we are alone, I take both of his hands and say, "Look at me and don't let your anger out on me either."
"I won't," his eyes are cold but instantly soften as he looks into mine.
"What did I say?"
"Don't let him affect me."
"And what are you doing?"
"Letting him affect me."
"Open the oven." He pulls the oven door to reveal a pan full of chicken and my fish. "Do you think I wouldn't look out for my baby?"
He smiles and leans down to my height, "Thank you." He kisses me on the cheek and rushes to the table, "Sorry baby, I'm hungry."
I roll my eyes, "You are such a kid."
I follow him to the table with the deep-fried fish. "Does anyone want fish?"
"I'll take a piece," Dana speaks up.
"Here you go," I place it on her plate.
"How about you Mr. Moldovan?" I smile. "I see you liked the chicken, maybe you'll like the fish too."
"Sure, I'll give a shot." I gladly place a piece on his plate.
I decided to be the bigger person and be cordial. Since our first meeting, I'd say he has softened up and I can tell he is sweeter than he presents himself to be. I guess he just had to get used to the fact that I'm with his son.
"I had no idea you could cook so well," he compliments me.
"Thank you so much!"
"Hun, you're going to have to send me that recipe."
"Sure, no problem."
"Alright, I'm full and ready to take a nap," Eugene stands up. "Thank you for dinner Elara and Emilian. I'll see you all later." He kisses his wife's forehead and exits the room.
"How often does Elvira come around?" I ask Dana.
"Not much but she'll definitely regret not coming today."
"Hey, Elara can I ask you a question?" Carson says.
"Sure."
"Would you like to be my personal chef or maid? I can pay you double of what he is."
"Carson," Dana speaks sternly. "Leave my home and when you find the respect you are welcomed to return.
He roughly stands up and exits the dining room. "Elara, I'm so sorry about his behavior. It seems like I only raised half of my kids right."
"It's not your fault Dana and it's fine, honestly."
She sighs, "These kids stress me out, I'm going to bed. Hunny, will you clean and lock up for me?" she asks Emilian.
"Yes momma, I will." She kisses both of our foreheads and leaves the table.
"Looks like we get to eat dinner in the room after all."
"Mhm," I hear as he chews.
"Baby, slow down before I take the rest away. Help me clean up and we can finish eating in the bedroom."
"Ok, just let me take one more bite."
"Seb," I say seriously, placing my hand on my hips.
"Sorry baby, I'm helping!" he begins to grab the plates.
â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£â£
We're both lying in bed, watching Grey's and he randomly says, "Sorry if I annoy you sometimes. I swear I don't mean to. I guess I am so comfortable around you, that I don't realize that I might be annoying you."
"Baby, you do know I love you for your personality and not only your looks right?" I ask him
"I know but I feel like there are so many things about me that you have to accept and tolerate. But you're just so perfect."
"Seb, I'm too tired to talk about this right now. Neither of us is perfect, everyone has their flaws that we have to accept. And I've already accepted yours and now I only see perfection."
He smiles and kisses my cheek without saying a word.
"I find it so ironic that this emotional big baby is in the mafia."
"You brought out my emotions and now I can't put them away," he mumbles.
"You don't have to because I love both sides of you; emotional Emilian and tough meany Emilian."
"Yeah but I know which side you love more," he whispers in my ear and smacks my butt hard. I bite my lip and he watches me with a sly smirk on his face.
I blush, "Stop, baby."
"Look. Now you want to act all innocent."
"Shut up," I hit him playfully. "I'm going to sleep."
"Alright, love. I'm going to call Luci back quickly but I don't want to move. I'll make the conversation short."
"Ok," I reply sleepily.
"Is this important Luci? I'm lying with my woman and she's sleepy, so make it quick."
"Emmy, the gym was trashed and we don't know who did it."
"Look at the camera footage, dummy!"
"It was erased," Lucian sighs.
"Luci, you know I don't want to be too involved. Please solve this for me."
"Emilian, I have no connections here and I am not leaving to get anyone because Liza is here and her birthday is coming up soon. It would hurt her if I am not here for her birthday and I'm not hurting my babygirl."
I sigh, "I will send one of my best hackers to New York and see what he can do. I don't even know why you need one when you are one." Lucian was the best hacker in Europe and now he secluded himself to being a sniper as if it's safer.
"Emmy, we aren't arguing about this again."
"Seb," I hear Elara whine. "Shut up and comfort me so I can sleep peacefully."
"I'm almost done, baby," I peck her lips.
"No, we're not!" Lucian shouts through the phone.
"Lucian, I will send someone and we can finish this conversation tomorrow."
"Emili-."
"Bye Lucian," I hang up the phone.
"Sorry about that, love."
"What was that about?" she asks sleepily.
"I'll tell you tomorrow."
"Ok, goodnight, I love you."
"I love you too."
