Finally, an hour and a half later, my makeup is done and I'm satisfied.
I take a look in the mirror to examine myself and, damn I look good. Hopefully not too good though. I just need to impress the client not make him fall in love with me.
Spraying on some perfume is the last thing I do before deciding that I'm done. It took me 2 hours and a half to get ready. That's a personal record.
I grab my purse and phone and head downstairs to see Emilian's back facing me whiles he talks to someone on his phone.
Suddenly, his phone call ends with him looking tense and irritated. He turns at the sound of my heels on the tiles and stares at my body intensely for what seems like forever before he looks at my face.
I see the guilt in his eyes so I ask "What's wrong? We aren't late are we?"
He snaps out of his trance and tells me, "No, but the meeting is canceled and I feel guilty knowing that you took your time to look this good." I'm taken aback by his comment.
His eyes rake up and down my body once more before I speak up, "My eyes are up here Mr." He unwillingly looks into my eye putting on a cheeky smirk.
"What's gotten into you today?" I question. "You're acting very bold for someone who was on my bad side just a few hours ago."
"You look gorgeous and again, I'm sorry, I'll refrain from staring at you for too long. But, it's too bad we can't go out. I'll make it up to you for wasting your time."
I smile up at him, "Are the reservations canceled?"
"No, but I'll call them now to let them know we won't be there," he responds and begins to take out his phone.
I stop him, "Why don't we still have dinner. I'm sure you haven't eaten anything since lunch and, I'm starving." He looks at me unsure.
"Pleaseeeee, I'm hungry and I don't want to waste a good outfit," I explain whiles posing cutely for him
"Fine, but we can't stay too long," He answers.
"Yayyy," I squeal in excitement.
"Also, can you please put on a coat?" he adds.
"Of course not. I'm already warm and that will ruin my outfit."
He glances at my chest, "Please?" he pleads again. I realize why he's asking so I grudgingly grab my coat so we can finally leave.

On our ride over, I remember I needed to post one of the pictures I took earlier today. It's not the cutest picture, but it will do.
I look over to him and he's focusing on the road looking a bit nervous. "You look nervous over there. You can relax, we're just two people going out to eat because we're hungry. It's not like a date or anyth-." Oh. It kinda is.
He doesn't say anything so, I continue, "Well, it doesn't matter. You're my boss and I'm your employee, and that's all we are so, it's fine. Right?"
"Right," he simply responds coldly.
When we arrive, he tells the waitress our names and she leads us to a secluded table.
"Wow! This place is lovely and looks expensive," I say observing my surroundings. The room is dark and a few decorative chandeliers are hanging from the ceiling, giving off enough light. And, there's a beautiful tree sitting in the center of the room.
I look back at him, seeing that he is typing on his phone. "Ok then," I mumble taking out my phone to do the same.
Another waiter arrives at our table greeting us, "Guten Abend! Welcome to Yamas. What can I get you to drink?" His thick accent can be heard and his English is clear enough to hear.
I smile widely, "Yes, I would love a black tea."
He writes that down and turns to Emilian, "And for you sir?" Emilian looks up momentarily without speaking then back to his phone.
I quickly speak up to avoid awkwardness, "Um, he will have a water."
"Alright, your drinks should be out very soon."
I give a quick smile and whisper, "Thank you."
Once he leaves us, I speak up, "Emilian why are you acting like this? You're stuck in your phone, you have an attitude, and you were rude to the waiter for no reason."
He finally looks up, "I don't see why me being on my phone affects you. We are just two colleagues having dinner in a restaurant. Right?"
"Yes you're right, but can you be nicer and maybe not act like a jerk."
"No," he replies.
"Why?" I ask curiously.
"I have my reasons."
"Like wh-." I'm about to reply but I see the waiter approaching so I whisper, "Can we please talk about this later." I hate arguing with people when it's unnecessary. If he wasn't my boss, I wouldn't push for a conversation but, I refuse to be on bad terms with him because at the end of the day he decides on how much I'm paid. I can't risk my job over some pointless argument.
He gives a firm nod before turning his attention back to his phone.
The waiter places our drinks down and he asks me, "Are you alright ma'am?" he questions with a hint of worry.
"Yes," I force a smile. He still looks unsure. I guess my face shows otherwise.
He nods and starts to walk away, "Actually no. Can you show me where I can order to just take out?" Emilian immediately looks up from his phone.
The waiter points towards the front of the restaurant, "Yes um, right over there, where the short blonde woman is standing. Are you both leaving?"
"No. He'll be staying," I say without looking at Emilian. "Thank you so much sir and, goodnight."
I walk to the front, order food, pay, and catch a taxi back to the penthouse.

I've just finished eating my food and my sister is all I can think of so, I ring her. It takes a few rings for her to pick up. "Elara!" she whispers shouts. "It's six in the morning."
"Oh, I forgot about the different time zones. I'm sorry but, I miss you. It's nice to hear your voice," I speak sincerely.
"What do you mean you're out of the country?" she asks excitedly.
"Well, I'm in Switzerland right now, on a business trip, and currently, I'm desperately missing home. I guess this is what I signed up for though."
"That sounds amazing and sad but, all this talking is making me sleepier than I already am. Can you call me later when I'm fully awake?" I can hear the exhaustion in her voice.
"I'm not sure what I'll be doing but I'll try. I love you!"
"I love you too Lara," she hangs up.
I changed into one of my favorite undies, to make myself feel better. Emilian's attitude somehow made me feel like I did something wrong and now I can only blame myself for it.
I walk to my dresser for my remote, so I can turn Netflix but, before I can even sit on my bed, I hear a soft knock on the door.
