My Baby’s Daddy Chapter 1943
Night of Destiny
Chapter 1943
Lambert countered with a frown, âWould anyone snatch a person like you do, Young Master Jared?
Miss Reiss is my guest, and she has yet to say she wants to leave!â
Caught between the two men, Ellen found herself at a momentary loss for what to do. âPack your stuff,
Ellen. Weâre leaving now,â Jared whispered to her beside him.
Ellen broke free of his grasp before saying to Lambert, âMr. Orey, thank you for putting me up last night.
Iâll stop bothering you after this.â
âWhat? Youâre leaving for real?!â Lambert asked reluctantly. âI have something else to deal with, so I
shanât bother you anymore,â Ellen said to him.
âItâs nothing! Weâre friends, after all,â Lambert replied with a chuckle just to spite a certain someone.
âUh-huh. Itâs a real pleasure to be friends with you.â Ellen smiled. Lambert really isnât a bad guy. she
thought.
Lambertâs smile broadened more and more at the sight of Jaredâs darkening expression. âIn that case,
we should go out for coffee sometime.â
Ellen nodded. âThatâs a great idea! Well then, I gotta pack my stuff first.â She darted a look at the man
beside her, only to notice his long face. Iâd better pack up before anything else, she thought.
Lambert followed her back to the villa. After following her upstairs, he stood at the door to her room to
keep her company. âEllen, have you two made it up already?â he asked.
âSomething happened between us that has to be dealt with right now,â Ellen explained while putting
away the clothes on her bed. Seeing that she was going to make the bed, Lambert strode in and
volunteered, âIâll do it! You pack up your stuff.â
Ellen replied somewhat embarrassedly, âNo, let me do it instead.â
However, Lambert insisted on making the bed himself. For some reason, he felt protective toward
Ellen, who was really kind of everyoneâs darling with her vulnerable beauty.
Ellen was grateful to him from the bottom of her heart. âThank you.â
âDonât mention it. Weâre friends already, no?â Lambert said while making the bed dexterously. Then,
seeing that she had packed her suitcase, he reached out and lifted it up for her, saying, âLetâs go! Iâll
walk you downstairs.â
Ellen followed him to the door. After the door opened, he walked her all the way to the door to Jaredâs
RV while carrying her suitcase. âHere, Iâm giving her back to you. But if you donât cherish her, then donât
blame me for stealing her again,â he said.
Jared narrowed his eyes and replied, âIâm afraid youâll never have the opportunity.â âWow! So confident,
eh?â Lambert replied before winking at Ellen. âGoodbye, Ellen.â
Ellen watched the man stride into the distance. Before she came to her senses, a male voice dripping
with jealousy rang beside her. âHow much longer are you gonna follow him with your eyes?â
Ellen withdrew her gaze and asked him, âCan you go with me to my uncleâs place?â
âOf course, I can.â Jared nodded before handing her suitcase to Stanley beside him. âTake this suitcase
to my house.â Ellen was speechless for a moment. âIâm not going to your place.â
Stanley immediately picked up the suitcase, saying, âGot it. Iâll deliver it right away.â With that, he
walked toward his car and then left with Ellenâs suitcase before she could say anything.
Ellen felt both helpless and speechless as Jared got her into his car. As it happened, Jared also had
scores to settle with the Aguirres. After all, they had plotted to jeopardize his relationship with Ellen, not
to mention how they had treated her back then.
Meanwhile, at the Aguirre Residenceâ¦
Selena dared not tell her parents about her. phone call to Ellen last night. She feared that Connor
would give her a rap over the knuckles for being meddlesome, and besides, she also felt sorry for her
mother, who was still unaware at this moment that her husband had another family outside their
marriage.
On the other hand, Olivia was distressed over the fear that she would no longer be able to enjoy a life
of luxury now that their family had run out of money. If she had to go out and work for a living, it would
be worse than killing her! âConnor, are we gonna get the money or not?â she asked Connor over
breakfast.
Connor was in an extremely irritable mood, though. He looked up and barked at her, âGo ask for the
money yourself if you want!â
Olivia couldnât wait to ask for the money herself, of course. She was just in no appropriate status and
position to do so. âDad, stop barking at Mom, will you? Weâre just anxious to get the money, Selena
said in an attempt to advise Connor.
