Chapter 2109
Night of Destiny
âIâm not drunk, Mr. Kowalski. Iâm still clear in my head!â replied Josephine. She didnât
think she was drunk. Other than feeling wobbly, she felt amazing.
When Katrina heard Atticusâ words, she stood up unwillingly. However, as soon as she
realized she could take Josephineâs place and sit beside Ethan, she was happy again.
Thus, she walked toward Josephine and said, âLetâs get some rest, Josephine. Come
on!âHowever, Josephine knew what Katrina had in mind. She curved her lips and
wiggled her index finger toward Katrina. âIâm not going, Katrina. I want to stay here
and accompany Mr. Quarles!â
Ethanâs eyes widened when he heard her words. I never expected her to be so clingy,
he thought. âYouâre drunk, Josephine. I think itâs best if you get some rest!â Katrina
said while secretly gritting her teeth. Josephine must have wanted to seduce Mr.
Quarles while drunk. I wonât let this happen.
Josephine was persistent and sat on her spot. âIâm not drunk. I still havenât eaten yet,
and Iâm hungry! No one is going to make me leave!â Atticus didnât expect Josephine
would act in such a way when she was drunk. If we donât get her out of here any
sooner, she will make a fool of herself, he thought. Suddenly, Ethan couldnât help but
chuckle. Then, he looked at Katrina and said, âIâll take her to rest.â
Katrina was shocked and quickly waved him off. âThereâs no need for that, Mr.
Quarles. Iâll take her away immediately.â Then, she used all her might to pull
Josephine upwards. When Josephine was dragged away from her seat, an arm
wrapped around her gently, pushing Katrina away.
âIâll send her home. Enjoy your meal,â said Ethan. Without waiting for the others to
respond, he took Josephine out of the room. However, Josephine was going against
him. âLet go of me, Ethan. Iâm not leaving with you!â
The others were frightened and thought, Josephine is too hot-tempered! How can she
be so impudent when he is our boss?! âListen to Mr. Quarles, Josephine!â Atticus
quickly reminded her. However, he could still hear her struggling. âLet go of me,
Ethan.â
âBehave now.â Ethan cooed at her. When the others heard this, they breathed a sigh
of relief, knowing that Ethan wouldnât be mad no matter how Josephine acted. After
some time, they could vaguely hear Josephineâs voice again. âIâm not going to listen to
you.â
Katrina was seeing red. She sat on Josephineâs seat, thinking, Josephine is so
disrespectful to him⦠On second thought, Iâm going to let her be! Itâs best if Ethan has
had enough of her petty behavior.
On the other hand, Josephine was being dragged into Ethanâs car. As she sat on the
passenger seat, her mind was dizzy, and she felt light-headed. âIâm dizzy, Ethan,â she
slurred.
âDo you want to go home? Or should I take you somewhere else to sober up?â As
Ethan spoke, he leaned toward her and stared at her.
âDo you have a place to let me sober up? I canât go home like this. My mom will scold
me.â Josephine remembered her mother getting upset when she got home drunk the
last time. After all, she came from a strict family. Thus, it was a no-no to get drunk.
âCome with me then,â replied Ethan as he started his car. After ten minutes, they
arrived at a hotelâs underground parking lot where Ethan stayed in. During the ride,
Josephineâs eyes were half-closed. When she opened them, she didnât know where
they were.
âWhere are we?â she asked. Ethan opened the car door for her and said, âCome on!â
Josephine trusted him very much and obliged. However, as soon as her feet touched
the ground, her knees weakened, and she quickly hugged Ethan. In that split second,
Ethanâs arms wrapped around her waist, and he looked at her. When Josephine
raised her head, their faces were just inches apart. At that moment, Josephine felt her
heart skip a beat. How is he so charming? Does he have to be this good- looking?
