Chapter 2205
Night of Destiny
âYes, Iâm giving up.â Ellen nodded. She now realized that fame was exhausting and being herself in her
quiet corner of the world was the better option instead.
âMiss Reiss, did you run into any trouble? Itâs okay, we can solve it for you.â Miss Lane persisted. Ellen
was in the spotlight now, and an interview with her would definitely raise their ratings.
âIâm fine, but I personally donât like interviews. Thank you, and goodbye.â With that, Ellen didnât give
Miss Lane any more chances to convince her.
When she put down the phone, a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind, and the man gazed at
her in approval. He was surprised that despite her young age, she had resisted the temptation of
reputation and popularity. This was considered quite a feat already.
âWhy donât you want more fame?â he asked. âI donât want to live under the attention of others. I just
want to stay with you and live the rest of our lives in peace,â Ellen answered honestly.
She was already exhausted from the fighting and chaos outside. Simple, clean social circles. and
connections were the best for her. Meanwhile, in Connorâs home, they could only sit around restlessly
since Ellen refused to help them.
They couldnât contact Ellen again, and they didnât even manage to get her number. Moreover, the team
had left Averna as well. âWhy are you so useless?!â Olivia shouted.
Just then, Connorâs phone rang. Connor glanced at it but didnât dare pick it up. Olivia thought it was a
call from Ellen, who decided to have mercy on their daughter. âWhy arenât you picking it up?â she
asked.
Connor gripped his phone in slight nervousness, but he stubbornly refused to answer. Seeing that,
Olivia reached out to grab his phone. Connor didnât think she would try to snatch it, so he became even
âDad? Dad, where are you? Come over and have dinner! Mom and I are waiting for you!â
more panicked and started fighting back. Suddenly, a boyâs voice cut through the air.
Olivia immediately froze in her attempt to grab the phone, while a strong look of panic colored Connorâs
face. Connor hastily ended the call, not daring to look at his wife.
âWhose child is it?â Olivia asked through gritted teeth, the fury already raging in her eyes. âTheyâve
gotten the wrong number, Connor said guiltily.
âConnor, are you hiding something from me? Do you have a child with another woman?â Olivia asked in
a shrill voice. Connor still dared not admit it as he roared at her, âI told you they got the wrong number!
Why are you still pestering me?!â
Oliviaâs tears gushed down her face. She covered her face in despair as she said, âConnor, you
b*stard! You got yourself a son with another woman just because I canât give you one, didnât you?
Youâre inhumane! Youâre a jerk!â
Realizing that he couldnât hide this any longer, Connor sat down on the couch in silence.
Oliviaâs heart was filled with pain and regret. She knew that if her husband never had much money all
this while, he wouldnât have dared to cheat on her. That sum of money made him bold enough to
establish another home outside
âWho is that woman?â Olivia dashed over to him in a frenzy, shaking him as she interrogated, âWho is
that woman? Tell me, who is she?!â Connor had to protect his son, so he wouldnât tell Olivia. He gritted
his teeth and stubbornly refused to say a word.
âConnor, Iâm going kill you! You deserve a thousand deaths! No wonder you donât care about Lena
anymore; youâre already devoted to your illegitimate son!â The more Olivia spoke, the more pitiful she
felt. She began wailing like a crazed woman.
Likewise, Connor knew he had done something. wrong. He remained silent as he allowed Olivia to hit
and shout at him.
As for Olivia, she calmed down sometime after her outburst. She was already in her 50s, so she knew
that she had to accept the truth event though it was a tough pill to swallow. âHow old is that child?â she
asked.
âNine,â replied Connor. Olivia broke down once again. She thought every man in this world would cheat,
but her husband was the only exception. Little did she know his illegitimate child was nine years old
already. That meant that he had already cheated on her ten years ago.
âWho is that woman? Tell me, who is that b*tch?!â Olivia asked in a hoarse voice.
