Chapter 2566
Night of Destiny
âAlright, you can go home now.â âWhy?â âI need to spend time alone with her. Youâre too much of a third
wheel.â Tony was stumped. Have I said all that just to be kicked out? âCan you get any more heartless,
Uncle Zacharias? I promise you wonât even know Iâm here.â âStay away for three days,â Zacharias said.
âBut I just arrived last night,â Tony complained. Zacharias glanced at his wristwatch every now and
then, calculating the time. She has been gone for almost an hour. Where did she go? Sheâs not secretly
seeing someone outside again, is she? Zacharias picked up his phone and dialed a certain womanâs
number.
âHello?â she answered.
âCome back,â the man requested, his tone gentle but authoritative. Shirley, who had been slacking off
and playing with her phone at Imogenâs, sighed after receiving the call. âIâm heading back now,â she
said to Imogen.
âWas that Mr. Flintstone?â Imogen asked.
âYes. He might have an assignment for me,â Shirley replied.
âGo on, donât keep him waiting,â Imogen told her. At that, Shirley got up and left, and Imogen watched
her retreating figure, her smile gradually fading. When Shirley returned to the living room, Tony
immediately greeted her. âGoddess, youâre back.â She walked up to Zacharias and asked, âMr.
Flintstone, is there something you need?â Zacharias didnât have any specific business. It was his rare
day off at home, so he made a casual excuse. âJoin me for lunch at my family home.â Shirley blinked in
response. Your family home?
âCan I refuse?â she asked. âYou can have the others escort you.â Zacharias had a friendly expression,
but the words that came out of his mouth left Shirley speechless.
âI donât want anyone else but you,â he said.
At that, Shirley could only agree, âAlright, Iâll join you.â And so, Zacharias dialed his fatherâs number
and said, âDad, Miss Lloyd and I will be coming home for lunch.â âGreat, please bring Miss Lloyd with
you!â Josef was more than glad to have Shirley over. Zacharias stood up and said, âIâll go upstairs to
change.â Tony took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with Shirley. âGoddess, what do you
think of my uncle?â âThink of him in what way?â âHis looks, physique, status-are all of these satisfactory
to you?â Tony inquired, trying to gauge Shirleyâs feelings for Zacharias. Shirley squinted her eyes and
thought for a moment. âTheyâre fine.â âYou can only imagine the number of women who tried to win my
uncleâs heart in the past. Whoâd have thought the person to win his heart in the end would be you?â
Tony teased her. Curious, Shirley asked, âHe had many pursuers in the past?â âYeah! There were tons.
As far as I know, every woman who had dealings with him wanted to be with him,â Tony said matter-of-
factly.
At that, Shirley couldnât help overthinking. No wonder that guy is so good at kissing. He must have had
many romantic encounters in the past.
She bit her lips, and an unexpected feeling of annoyance began to surface, even unbeknownst to
herself.
âSeems like your uncle is pretty popular with women,â Shirley remarked. Tony grinned and said, âBut he
only has eyes for you! Those girls from before, he wouldnât even spare them a glance.â However,
Shirley didnât buy his claim. She huffed, âSure, heâs never spared them even a glance.â Immediately,
Tony defended his uncle. âItâs true! Youâre the first girl heâs pursued, and I believe youâll be the last one
because he will marry you.â Shirley cleared her throat in response. âAm I supposed to marry him just
because he wants to marry me? I have no plans on getting married.â Coincidentally, Zacharias
overheard her as he descended the stairs, and he frowned. Who is this girl waiting for?
âGoddess, guys like Uncle Zacharias are hard to come by. You should just marry him. You wonât regret
it.â Shirley couldnât help but burst into laughter at Tonyâs attempt to promote his uncle. Just then, the
sound of footsteps rang out from behind them, and the two quieted down immediately.
Zacharias ultimately decided to bring Tony along.
