Chapter 2656
Night of Destiny
Reuben nodded. His status changed after being with Catalina. Since then, the company had assigned
him a luxury watch advertisement, causing his worth and reputation to surge instantly.
Whatâs more, the suite he was at was also arranged by the advertising company to conduct business
negotiations.
Sera hurriedly exited the hotel and immediately saw Harmony standing by the fountain, so she quickly
caught up to the latter. âHarmony, I have good news for you. Reuben is staying on the presidential suite
floor. We can ask him to scan his access card and take you to find the guest in Room 8888.â
âI donât want to see him.â Harmony shook her head, tears welling up uncontrollably.
âDonât be stubborn. We havenât taken back the gemstone yet.â Sera urged, âWhat if that guy leaves
tomorrow? How could we possibly find him then? If he goes to another country, weâll have no options
left. Letâs get the gemstone back before the advertising company finds out.â
Harmony took a deep breath. She loathed the man yet still had to ask for his help.
In the meantime, four black SUVs assertively drove into the underground passage next to the
flowerbed. The man sitting in the car had just returned after having dinner at the Presgrave Residence.
âLetâs go. Thereâs no other way. We can only ask Reuben for help. There are no reporters him to take
you upstairs. It will only take ten minutes.â Sera grabbed her phone as she spoke and called Reuben.
âHey, Reuben. I need your help. Could you come to the lobby and take someone up to the presidential
suite floor for me?â
âGreat! Weâll wait for you.â Sera smiled and then forcefully dragged Harmony into the lobby. When
Reuben came over from the elevator, he felt his heart skip a huge beat. Looking at the slender and
beautiful figure under the light, he felt guilty yet helpless. While he loved Harmony, he had chosen to
betray his love for his ambition and resources.
âHarmony, why are you here?â he asked softly.
âHarmony, be good and go upstairs with Reuben,â Sera persuaded while gently pushing Harmony.
However, Harmony remained unmoved, so Sera could only threaten in a low voice, âIf we donât get that
gemstone, weâll face bankruptcy. Hurry up!â
After taking a deep breath, Harmony turned to Reuben and said, âPlease take me to the presidential
suite floor. Thank you.â
âW-Why do you want to go there?â
âI have an appointment with that guest!â She walked toward the direction of the elevator. Behind her,
Reuben hurriedly caught up with Harmony, asking, âWhoâs the guest?â
She remained silent, and he scanned his access card in the elevator before pressing the button for the
88th floor.
âHarmony, tell me. Who did you make an appointment with?â
âSince you abandoned me for a better opportunity, I can do the same to you. The client I have an
appointment with tonight is my benefactor.â
âD-Did you offer yourself to someone?â Reuben clenched his fists in anger as though Harmony had
initially belonged to him.
On the other hand, she pushed aside her pride just to exact full retaliation against her betrayer. She
smiled and nodded. âYes. I willingly offered myself to him. So, what? Why do you even care?â
Later, a ding was heard as the elevator arrived on their floor. As this was a seven-star hotel with top-
notch elevators, it only took them seconds to reach their destination.
As she was about to get out, he grabbed her hand. Annoyed, she quickly pulled away, scolding, âDonât
touch me. You disgust me.â
He also knew he had no right to stop her, but deep down, he still loved her. He dated Catalina on a
whim to get what he wanted but had no feelings for her. It was just for mutual benefit.
Raising her head, Harmony searched for Room 8888 and paid no attention to Reuben, who was
instinctively trailing behind her.
âStop following me. I donât need you to meddle in my business,â she scoffed. Thinking about the video
and photos of him and Catalina in the basement garage lot, she felt like her world had collapsed. The
man she had loved for five years passionately kissing another woman in the garage was more
devastating than being slapped several times.
