Chapter 2686
Night of Destiny
Harmony ignored Catalina and left without so much as a glance. Catalina seethed with resentment.
Harmonyâs lack of response told her that she and Ezekiel would never be a thing. Harmony never
thought she would become an item with Ezekiel. She knew where she stood. So, she wouldnât ask for
more. All she wanted was to grasp this short-lived happiness.
When Ezekiel made it back to the balcony, he didnât see Harmony anywhere. Meanwhile, Catalina had
stayed behind. Her eyes shone with greed as she quickly said, âMr. Weiss, hi. Iâm Harmonyâs friend.
Are you looking for her? Sheâs gone to the bathroom. Why donât you wait for her here?â
âYouâre Miss Mayoâs friend?â Ezekiel narrowed his eyes.
âYep. Weâre both celebs, and we worked together before. Itâs great she met you. She just broke up with
her boyfriend, and I was worried she might not get over him.â Catalina sighed, hinting to Ezekiel that
Harmony used to be in a relationship. I bet people like Ezekiel prefer innocent girls.
âI know she just broke up,â said Ezekiel. He obviously didnât mind.
Catalina was shocked. Does he know her well? âOh, I see. I thought you didnât know. Sheâs a nice girl,
but she has too many suitors,â slandered Catalina.
âIs that so?â Ezekiel took a sip of his red wine. He was not surprised. There was something likable
about Harmony. He couldnât deny that he was attracted to her as well.
âYou donât mind?â Catalina asked curiously.
Ezekiel shook his head. âI donât.â
âSo, youâre going to court her?â Catalina asked again. He wanted to know all about Ezekielâs thoughts
on Harmony and find out how far they would go.
Ezekiel hadnât thought that far. Courtship?
Harmony returned to the hall. She did go to the bathroom earlier. When she searched for Ezekiel, she
saw him standing with Catalina. Her heart sank at the sight as she felt something inexplicable filling her
soul. Nonetheless, she realized it was jealousy after musing it over.
When Ezekiel saw her, he went over to her. Harmony squashed that ugly emotion into a little ball as
she smiled at him. âDone with your chat?â
âYes. I met your friend,â said Ezekiel.
Harmony was stunned, Catalina called herself my friend? And she talked to Ezekiel? Nothing good, I
bet. âWhat did she tell you?â Harmony asked, smiling curiously.
âShe said you just broke up with your boyfriend and need someone by your side, answered Ezekiel. He
beamed. âAh, she also told me you have a lot of suitors. Is that true?â
Harmony knew what Catalina told Ezekiel after hearing his words. Thereâs no doubt she told him about
the breakup. I can bet every dollar I own that she also said I have a lot of suitors just to make me look
like a girl who goes around sleeping with a ton of guys. Ezekiel didnât fall for it, though. Itâs cute. âHow
lovely of her, but sheâs not my friend. Sheâs the one who stole my ex,â said Harmony, nipping Catalinaâs
scheme in the bud.
Ezekiel was shocked. âIs that so?â He turned to Catalina again, his gaze colder and sharper.
Catalina almost choked on her wine as she sensed his gaze on her. What did she tell him to make him
look at me in disgust?
âStay away from her. If she tries to hurt you, tell me. Iâll make her pay.â Ezekiel looked at Harmony. He
sounded like heâd taken up the role of her guardian angel.
Harmony beamed. Nice assist, Catalina. âThank you, Mr. Weiss.â Harmony asked, âDo they serve a
buffet here?â Iâm hungry.
âThey do. Right here.â Ezekiel smiled and held Harmonyâs hand. Then, he promptly led her to the hall,
where a buffet was served.
