Chapter 2798
Night of Destiny
Boarding the plane, Harmony felt a heavy heart. Sera advised her to keep her mask and glasses on, to
hide her true emotions from the world.
Upon returning to her motherâs house, Sophia was immediately embraced by Ezekiel. âMom, Iâve
missed you so much.â
Sophia hugged her son back. âIâve missed you too.â
âMom! Why didnât you let me know you were coming back from the airport this time?â Ezekiel asked
curiously.
âI just suddenly felt the urge to come back.â
âMom, I canât wait to introduce someone to you.â Ezekielâs eyes were filled with anticipation.
Of course, Sophia knew exactly who her son wanted to introduce. She smiled. âNo rush, I came back to
see your grandma.â
Sophia needed to give Harmony some time. She believed Harmony was intelligent and sensible. At this
moment, Sophia had a question in her mind that she couldnât find an answer to-who sent those photos
to her? Why did they send them? What was their intention?
They know my email address, which means it must be someone I know or someone I have been in
contact with. But who could it be? Sophia sat in the yard, deep in thought. She took out her phone and
looked at the photos again. They were indeed photos of Harmony. Looking at them, she felt anger
rising within her.
A girlâs most important task is to love herself. If she canât even do that, how can she love others?
Therefore, Harmony is not suitable to be her daughter-in-law. Sophia became even more certain of this.
Meanwhile, Ezekiel, who was taking care of Cecelia in the master bedroom, looked at his phone and
sighed with a hint of disappointment.
âWhatâs wrong? Did you and Harmony have a fight?â
âNo, she just went to a gala and hasnât replied to me yet. Iâm a bit worried about her.â
Cecelia looked at her grandson. She understood why her daughter wanted her to play this drama, to
keep her grandson by her side. It must be that Sophia thought Harmony was not suitable to be
Ezekielâs life partner.
However, Cecelia really liked this child.
Ezekiel went downstairs and saw his motherâs assistant. He couldnât help but become a bit serious.
âLeia, why didnât you contact me in advance when my mom returned this time? Can you bear the
responsibility if anything happens to her?â
Leia looked at Ezekiel innocently. He was usually easy to talk to, but that day, he seemed a bit
intimidating. She explained, âThis was Mrs. Weissâ order. I tried to persuade her, but Mrs. Weiss said
there was no need to notify you.â
âWhy?â Ezekiel frowned. His motherâs return was too sudden. It wasnât like her usual style.
âIâm not sure. Mrs. Weiss was originally having tea in the garden in Dansbury. Then she saw something
on her tablet and immediately asked to come home. And she didnât allow me to notify you to pick her
up.â Leia was also very curious about the whole situation. Sophiaâs behavior was too strange.
Ezekiel frowned. âWhen did this happen?â
âJust three days ago!â
âThree days ago? Then why did my mom only arrive today?â
âOh! No, I must have remembered wrong. Mrs. Weiss⦠she arrived today.â Leia was startled, almost
revealing the truth. This was Sophiaâs strict order. She must not say that she arrived a day early.
Seeing the assistantâs hesitation, Ezekiel became even more curious and said sternly, âTell me the
truth. Do you think I canât find out?â
âMr. Ezekiel, Mrs. Weiss arrived yesterday. I donât know why she asked us to say she arrived today.â
Leia had to tell the truth.
Ezekiel bit his thin lips. Why would Mother make such arrangements? Did she meet someone today?
âDid my mom go out this morning?â
âYes! Mrs. Weiss went out early in the morning.â
âWho did she meet?â
Leia didnât dare to slip up this time. She lied, âA friend. I donât know them.â
âIs it a man or a woman?â Ezekiel asked hastily. His motherâs mysterious behavior made him start to
wonder if she no longer loved his dad.
