A Western Doctor's Happy Farming Life[1]
Noticing that Song Qinghan appeared without any hurt in front, Qin Sanmu sneered and then said purposely, âDoctor Song, How was the feeling? It sucked, right? Anyway, now I am caught by you guys, all those stuffs were yours now. Donât you think it is your lucky day today? You can enjoy a lot like immersing yourself in the heaven!â
Hearing that, Song Qinghan frowned tightly as he had already known everything hidden in that dirty cave with endless darkness, he answered plainly, âDonât ever think that, I am not you anyway. Itâs useless to keep something threatening to us.â
The master finally came to figure out everything. Looking at Qin Sanmu who was in a state of madness and insanity, he asked menacingly, âThe supply of the poppy in the village was quite enough already, why did you manage to plant some more? And moreover, as for those who got the addiction problems, itâs all your âcreditâ, right?â
Probably Qin Sanmu had no more things to lose now, he said without any hesitation, âSo what? I donât limit my horizon here, itâs just only you who gets a stupid brain and would love to choose this place for well-beings in pursuing the so-called belief and promise one year after another! Itâs, itâs just waste of your life! This place is lifeless without hopes! My ambition is not limited here, I want to conquer the whole world! I want everybody to knee down to me!â
After that, he burst out into laughter with his pair of eyes lit up suddenly. He was much delightful, as if he had wholly immersed himself into that picture. His laughter was so real, yet rather pitiful.
Song Qinghan frowned tightly and said coldly, âYou have known the consequence of over-smoking the opium poppy. Something unexpected might occur beyond your expectation if you really spread them out of the village. You might forget the other scenario, some of those drug addicts might resort to any possible means to reach out to you, and tear you into pieces before you conquer them! Even if you succeed achieving your goal, do you really think that those people will survive for a long time? Do you want a picture that you are on the top of the mountain tip, alone?â
All of these principles could be understood easily by every normal people with healthy mentality, but Qin Sanmu was obviously absent-minded now and gradually becoming insane. After hearing Song Qinghanâs words, he laughed even louder and louder, the violent movement affected the connection to his abdomen, strings of blood flowed out from his wound.
Seeing this, Song Qinghan didnât intend to say anything else. He knew that it would be useless to say more, so he raised his head and said to the master, âWeâre going to the snow forest now, for one reason we are going to pick the snowlotus, and for the other weâre heading to destroy all the poppy within the cave, are you coming with us?â
The master came back just to send Qin Sanmu and let the others back to watch over him. So after hearing Song Qinghanâs words, he decisively nodded, âOf course, the residents are still guarding there, in casing some âratsâ coming out from the forest.â
For some reason, after hearing what the master said, the image of the âmountain ghostsâ flashed across in his mind and he cried out, âThe people inside the cave havenât come out yet?â
Looking at the madness in Qin Sanmuâs eyes, Song Qinghan suddenly felt a bit scared. He grabbed Wu Dahuâs hand and urged hurriedly, âWe have to go over there quickly. SOMETHING MIGHT HAPPENS IF WEâRE LATE!â
:Although Wu Dahu didnât know how Song Qinghan came to this conclusion, he had always been unconditionally obedient to Song Qinghanâs words, so he directly led the sleigh and took Song Qinghan in.
Before leaving, Song Qinghan suddenly turned to the master and said, âI have got a premonition, youâd better stay here, and gather the rest of the residents to the mountain root!â
Seeing that Song Qinghan was rather serious on face, the master got tense suddenly and he came to know that wasnât a joke at all. He intended to ask further but since Wu Dahu had already set off, he could only swallowed all his confusion back to his throat.
Halfway, Wu Dahu glanced at Song Qinghan. Seeing that there was worry in Song Qinghanâs eyes, he said in a low voice, âDid that person get a backup plan? And will the master will listen to you?â
Song Qinghan still got a bit dizziness right now as his mind was in a mess, he could only catch some scattered fragments in his memories, and then he frowned and said, âI donât know either. But I wonât believe that those âghostsâ in the cave wonât take any action but stay still without putting up a fight. Especially, they are⦠a group of outlaws!â
However, before he finished his words, there came a burst of earsplitting sound in front. The wind blew fiercely as the snow fell on them ruthlessly. Suddenly, a gigantic snowball emerged after the explode on the midway to the top, pieces of snow grain fell without any gap among them, it was just like a âSnow Showerâ created by human force.
âOh no!â
Song Qinghan roared subconsciously, he urged hurriedly as he noticed that there was a tendency on the mountain tip to form a snowslide, âItâs a snowslide, hurry up, we should go and get the snowlotus!â
Those husky driving the sleigh also seemed to notice that something was going to happen. They ran forward desperately and pulled Song Qinghan and Wu Dahu into the snow forest just in a blink of eye.
Although the residents who were still guarding the forest did not know what had happened, they had also seen the anomaly just now. Yet they were all self-disciplined standing there without the orders of the head.
When they saw Song Qinghan in the scene, they seemed to finally get the live-saving straws even though they were still a bit disappointed that the master did not come. In a mess, they asked with different voices, âDoctor Song, what is happening? Where is the master? Are we staying or leaving now?â
Song Qinghan narrowed his eyes and looked at the snow cubic falling from afar. He gritted his teeth and roared, âEVERYBODY RUN! RUN UNTIL YOU GET TO THE ROOT! NOW, AS FAST AS YOU CAN!â
Hearing that, all the residents seemed to become rather panicked in turbulence, but they still ran downwards obediently. Yet from the route they picked, seemingly they were about to rushed back to their village.
Song Qinghan didnât dare to take a pause, he led the way directly and brought Wu Dahu to the hidden cave. And along the way, they found many area covered with snow sank while the trap exposed beneath the snow.
Those spikes and mechanisms startled Song Qinghan so much. No wonder that those people would choose such a queer method entering. If anyone entered here without any preparation, probably he might die midway because of these traps!
As soon as they reached the cave, they met the âghostsâ.
Under a closer observation, Song Qinghan finally understood why these group of people was called âGhostsâ. They were just some human beings who got the drug addiction deep in their bones, their figures were rather emaciated and skinny just like some branches of trees while their hairs were messy in disorder. That was why people would describe them as âghostsâ rather than normal human beings.
When those people saw Song Qinghan, they commenced pouncing on this couple fearlessly with their real ghost-like eyes.
After all, they got more than ten people in their group, and Song Qinghan only got Wu Dahu here.
However, it was rather easy for Wu Dahu to defeat them. After all, they had underestimated their enemy, but Wu Dahu did not underestimate them.
These people started to get frightened as half of them were defeated to the ground. Some of them turned around and fled away, and the rest pounced on Song Qinghan, probably they thought they were able to catch Song Qinghan as a hostage to threaten Wu Dahu.
Song Qinghan subconsciously took a step back and walked behind Wu Dahu. He thought that he was quite nimble and would definitely dodge the attack, but out of his attention, one of his legs was dragged by another âghostâ who just ran out from the cave, the âghostâ reached out to attack Song Qinghanâs neck the next moment.
*Bang!*, a loud noise sounded suddenly as something heavy fell hit on the âghostâs head. The âghostâ collapsed to the ground after that and gradually lost his breath while Song Qinghan was startled standing there, and then patted himself on the chest, panting.
âGoudan!â, Song Qinghan shouted as he raised his head and found it was no one else but someone he was familiar with.
Goudan seemed to be rather bewildered and panicked standing still, he loosened his hands, and the bricks in his hands fell heavily to the ground. And then he retreated while murmuring, âI killed someone, I killed someoneâ¦â
Seeing that Goudan was about to fall into the cave as he was almost reaching the edge of the cave, Song Qinghan quickly reached out and grabbed him. He pressed his fingers tightly to pinch Goudanâs shoulder as if he was about to try his best to wake Goudan up, âThey deserve that! I will tell you about all the matter in detail! Now, hey, listen to me, you should run as fast as you can, run until you get to the mountain root, okay? Here comes a snowslide!â
Hearing the word âSnowslideâ, Goudanâs lips moved a bit and he finally came back to his senses. He glanced at the scattered corpses on the ground, and then asked subconsciously, âHow about you two?â
Song Qinghan turned to look at Wu Dahu. Wu Dahu happened to defeat the last âghostâ, the air he exhaled formed into a gust of mist.
âWe still get one important thing needed to be processed, you go downwards first, the other residents are already at the mountain root now, go and meet them there.â
Gou Dandan hesitated for a moment, but still nodded and quickly ran down the mountain.
The sound of the avalanche became louder and louder. Song Qinghan looked up at the snow that could rush down at any time. He got his nerve even more tenser, yet the next moment Wu Dahu dragged him directly and both of them quickly rushed to the Northwest side.
âI know youâre going to find the snowlotus, and the Northwest side, I remember everything you mentioned.â
The scenery on both sides quickly went backwards from the corner of Song Qinghanâs eyes. Although it was quite hard for Song Qinghan to run right now, he was quite delightful in mind as his eyes lit up suddenly, and then he answered, âWeâll be fine!â
The corner of Wu Dahuâs mouth slowly curved while his eyes were imbued with full of gentleness and warmth. Yet just as they reached the place Song Qinghan described, what he saw was actually taking away his breath.
The fairly white snowlotus was blooming slowly and beautifully, the big and crystal-clear slices of its petal were just like a group of dancing hostesses, blooming gracefully in a rotating way, as if it was telling its own beauty without words, alone in this desolated world.
Song Qinghan paused and turned to look at the snow that was about to fall. He wasnât that patient like Wu Dahu was to take a pause and enjoy the beauty of the blooming flower, and then reached out to pick the snowlotus up, stored it in the box he had brought, and then shouted to Wu Dahu, âRUN!â
Although the pace of the two peopleâs footsteps was not in the same rhythm, their speed was in the same tempo. Their hands held tightly together, while it seemed they would never ever be apart anymore.
The thundering sound had already made those husky insanely crazy. Just as the rope untied, they seemed to be released all at once like fishes in the water. Without even a moment to rest, they made every effort to rush downwards the mountain.
The speed of the sleigh was getting faster and faster, but it was not as fast as the speed of the avalanche. When the snow behind them was about to reach them, the sleigh suddenly lost control. The two people were thrown up high in the air, rolled into a ball and washed down by the snow.
After a long while, Song Qinghan woke up and opened his eyes suddenly after taking a deep breath. He came to know that he was still alive when he looked up into the sky and saw those changeable clouds in various shapes. As he gazed downwards, he found Wu Dahu lying on the other side motionlessly with his eyes closed tightly. Song Qinghan stood up hurriedly and approached to Wu Dahu, wanting to take the pulse of his husband.
But what he didnât expect was that Wu Dahuâs hands were tightly held behind him like iron. Even if he straightened up, Wu Dahuâs hands didnât show any signs of letting go.
Fortunately, Song Qinghan heard Wu Dahuâs faint but powerful heartbeat. Knowing that Wu Dahu was fine, he loosened his shoulder and silently leaned his head against Wu Dahuâs shoulder.
How foolish Wu Dahu was! No one knew how tight he held the hands of Song Qinghan just in order not to separate with him by the powerful force of the snow slide!
