My Neighbor Is A........DADDY!???

April.20---Sunny   8:30am

"Hey. My name is Marcus. I just moved in next door to you." The handsome man said to me. I was almost too lost in his beautiful green eyes to regester what was happening. "Uhhhh.....hello? Are you okay?" He asked as her waved a hand infront of my ocean blue eyes. "It's okay if you're shy. I just kind of thought i'd introduce myself." He nervously chuckled. God, his chuckle is adorable and is that a british accent I hear?

"Ah. Um. I-i'm s-sorry." I stuttered. "M-my n-name i-is R-River." I shyly smiled. I bet my face is really flushed right now and I bet he thinks i'm some kind of stuttering weirdo, I thought to myself.

"That's a really cute name. Of course such a cute name belongs to such a cute boy. I should have known" He replied, reaching out a hand for me to shake. If my face wasn't flushed before, it sure as hell is flushed by now. Is he flirting with me? No, of course he isn't. Don't be stupid River. I shook his hand. It's surprisingly soft. Wow. He held my hand in his for what must of been 5 minutes, minimum. We just stared into each other's eyes.

I let go of his hand, as the bus pulled up. "W-would y-y-you l-like to s-sit w-with me?" I shyly asked him as my gaze stayed fixed on the ground, one hand on the strap of my backpack that was on my shoulder.

"Sure. But don't you have friends that you sit with?" He asked me. Oh. Right. He's new. He doesn't know.

"I-I d-don't r-realy have a-any f-friends t-to sit w-with." I resonded. This time I looked directly into his eyes, expecting to see a look of pity. But, all I saw in his eyes was a look of joy.

"I'm sorry. But that just means that we can sit together from now on. You have your first friend, River-oh, right, I don't know your last name. Hehe."

"I-it's Myles. M-my last name is Myles." I replied with a small smile.

"That's a really unique last name. I like it." He said with a grin. I let out a giggle as we made our way onto the bus.

I sat down in a random seat, placing my backpack on my lap. Something i've done since Kindergarten. It helps to make sure my skirt doesn't fly up when we hit bumps and it also keeps my backpack clean.

I watched as Marcus did the same. I could tell this was his first time on a school bus.

"Is this your first time on a bus?"-

-"Sorry, this is my first time on a school bus." We said in unison. We started laughing. Well, I giggled, while he chuckled.

"Your giggle is really cute." He said, staring straight into my eyes.

And that's how our first time on the bus together went. One of us saying something funny and then us both laughing. He kept saying compliments to me. I couldn't tell if he was flirting or messing with me.

Once we got to school, I showed him to the principle's office to pick up his schedule and locker combo. It actually turned out that Marcus and I shared the same schedule and our lockers were right beside each other.

The principle, Mrs.Jenkins, asked me to show Marcus around the school. So, that's what I did for the two classes that morning.

As we were heading to English, Marcus said, "This school is huge." I snorted at this and he gave me a puzzled look. "What?" He asked me.

"N-nothing. It's just that you're from London. Aren't you like, used to large schools?" I asked him.

"Oh. No. The only schools I went to were small private schools. Hardly anyone went there. It was too expensive." He answered, completely serious.

"Oh. You're serious. Okay, Mr.I'm too rich to go to normal school." I giggled at the expression on his face.

"Really? That's the nickname you give me? Not Mr.Handsome, Mr.Muscles, Mr.Hunk?" He asked, with a sly smirk on his face, flexing his muscles.

"You? Handsome? Also, don't call yourself a hunk. You're disgracing one of the best paladins ever or you just sound like a 50 year old dad at his teenage daughter's pool party."

"One, I am handsome. What are you talking about? Two, what's a palladin? Three, that was oddly specific. And rude." I just gasped at is response.

"HOW DARE YOU NOT KNOW WHAT A PALLADIN IS! Don't you have a 4 year old brother? You're supposed to know these things!" I pointed my pointer finger at him as I said this.

As we were walking through the empty halls of our hish school, we were sharing everything about our lives and families. From our favorite colors and our birthdays to our siblings. We talked about how Marcus's mom used donors for both Marcus and his little brother, Casey, since she's a lesbian. He even said that he's gay and that he has an enormous pride flag hanging over the windows in his living room as a curtain. I thought that was really cool.

We had also talked about our love for Disney and he even told me that he was half-hispanic, half-british.

"What? What do you mean you don't like sour or aspicy food?" I ask him, responding to his previous statement.

" I mean I don't like them. They're just not my thing." Marcus replied, with his toungue sticking out, making a disgusted face. "I mean, I guess I get why you would like them. I just, don't like tem." He said with a shrug.

With that, the bell for lunch rang and we made our way to the cafeteria.
