Lipstick Stains

The next day I remained in bed.  I tried to process the events but I couldn't.  I tried calling my mom and dad but they didn't answer.  Why won't they answer? I tried calling my stepbrother but still no answer.  The only person I had to talk to was Ms Flynn.

She came into my room to check on me and that's when I took the opportunity to express my feelings.  Everything spilt out.  The way things happened, what I saw - the fact that I actually was terrified for the first time in a long while.

She looked at me expressionless while she listened. I was scared to hear what she might say at the ending of it all.

"And that is why I needed to talk with you,"  I said. "I can't contact anyone else and I don't want to put anyone in danger."

I heard her sigh and she glanced to her watch, "I think,  I should let you talk to someone like a psychologist or something."

"Now?"  I asked.  She nodded.

"Yeah, I'll take you to visit one if you want."  She stood up form the bed and took out her cellphone.

"What? You can't take me there? My mum has to make a special reservation thingy in advance. Besides Only my parents can take me."  I said, realizing that I was repeating myself.

"I can take you there." Her finger raced across the screen of her phone. She paused for a second, "You can try calling your brother once more when we get in the car."

"Alright."  I got up and grabbed my bag before following her. While in the car I tried calling once more.. No answer.

"Okay are you ready?" I heard a voice and I turned around to see Ms Flynn, she had a folded piece of paper in the other.

I nodded and followed her to the car. Everything seemed to be feeling wrong.

I walked beside Ms Flynn, she looked down at me and smiled, so I did the same.  Once outside, she leads me to her car.

I got in the backseat and she sat in the driver's seat. Once in she immediately buckled up and locked all the doors, I shrugged it of as some habit she usually did because being a pretty woman like her she would need to stay safe.

She adjusted the mirror and looked at me as I sat in the backseat, "By the way,  isn't it strange that your brother hasn't called you back yet?"
