Chapter 24

Part 24

Night Changes (Macolet au)

By the pool, the scene was a mix of quiet tension and gentle conversation. Gwen and Sheena were sitting on the poolside, their voices low as they discussed the recent events. Their conversation was calm, but both could feel the undercurrent of unease from the earlier drama. Despite that, they were trying to stay positive, offering words of comfort and support to one another.

Maloi and Colet, meanwhile, had settled on the poolside couch, tucked in together under a blanket. Maloi rested her head against Colet's shoulder, a soft smile on her face, content with the simple yet intimate moment. Colet's arm was around her, holding her close, providing a sense of calm amidst the uncertainty of the day.

On the other side of the pool, Aiah and Mikha had found an easy connection. They were in a quiet corner, talking animatedly, laughing together as if they had known each other for years. The chemistry between them was undeniable, both of them seeming to click effortlessly as they shared stories and exchanged thoughts.

But the absence of Stacey and Jhoanna was noticeable. They hadn't returned to the pool area, and no one was quite sure where they had gone. The group couldn't help but wonder what was going on between the two, but for now, they all kept to their separate spaces, letting the quiet linger in the air.

As evening descended, the atmosphere at the estate shifted to a more serene vibe. Gwen and Sheena, wanting to bring the group together again, invited Colet and Maloi to join them for dinner in the dining area. The elegant setting was soft-lit, with candles flickering across the long table, creating a warm ambiance. Gwen and Sheena were already seated, waiting for the others to join them. Their presence seemed to settle the unease from earlier in the day, offering a moment of peace amidst the tension.

Meanwhile, Mikha, accompanied by Aiah, decided to take the initiative to look for Jhoanna and Stacey. The two had disappeared earlier, and it was clear that the unresolved conflict between them needed some attention. Mikha, with her calming and understanding nature, was determined to get to the bottom of it, while Aiah, ever the supportive friend, was ready to help in any way she could. Together, they left the pool area in search of their friends, hoping to bring some resolution to the situation.

-----------------

Colet, Maloi, Gwen, and Sheena had settled comfortably at the dining table, the air lighter now, though still holding a bit of tension from earlier. The delicious aromas of the meal filled the air, and everyone seemed ready to relax and enjoy their evening together. They chatted lightly as they waited for the others to return.

As the door to the dining room opened, Mikha and Aiah entered, both looking a little more tense than when they had left. Mikha, noticing the concerned looks from their friends, gave a reassuring smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"We found Jhoanna and Stacey," Mikha began, her voice steady but with a hint of something unspoken. "They're just... working things out. They'll be joining us shortly."

Aiah nodded in agreement, but her expression mirrored Mikha's, a quiet understanding between them that something had happened during their search. Though they didn't dive into details, it was clear that whatever had transpired needed to be addressed between the two.

Colet looked at Maloi with a quiet concern, but there was nothing more to say at that moment. They all returned to their seats, the conversation now directed to lighter topics as they waited for Jhoanna and Stacey to return and join the group for dinner. Despite the small discomfort from earlier, the evening was still shaping up to be a memorable one.

---------------------------------

As Jhoanna and Stacey walked into the dining area, there was a noticeable shift in the atmosphere. The tension from earlier seemed to have dissipated, and both women appeared more composed, though the weight of what had happened was still lingering in the air.

Stacey gave a small, apologetic smile to Sheena, Aiah, and Maloi. "I know things were... a little intense earlier. I'll explain everything later," she said, her tone softer than usual, but sincere.

Jhoanna, standing next to her, nodded in agreement, though her expression was unreadable. The two exchanged a brief glance, one that told their friends there was more to the story, but it was something they would address in time.

Despite the brief tension, the others couldn't help but notice the undeniable chemistry between Jhoanna and Stacey as they settled into their seats. There was a warmth in the way they looked at each other, a silent understanding that spoke volumes. The subtle glances, the way their hands brushed as they both reached for their drinks—no words were needed to convey that something had shifted between them.

Sheena, Aiah, and Maloi exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued. It was clear something deeper was unfolding between Jhoanna and Stacey. The air between them felt charged, but in a way that was oddly comforting, as if they were finding their way back to each other.

The group tried to keep things light as they settled into their meal, but the dynamics had undeniably changed. Aiah was the first to comment on the shift. "You two definitely seem... different," she remarked with a knowing smile, raising an eyebrow.

Stacey chuckled softly, her gaze flicking to Jhoanna. "We're working on it," she said simply, before turning her attention back to her plate.

The others nodded, accepting that they'd have to wait for the full story. But as dinner continued, the energy between Jhoanna and Stacey was palpable—there was no denying the bond they shared, even if it was still being navigated.

And as the night went on, it became clear that this weekend, for all the surprises and tension, had also allowed some of the more personal connections to deepen. Whether it was Maloi and Colet, or Jhoanna and Stacey, it seemed like everyone was discovering new layers to their friendships—and perhaps even to themselves.

--------------------------------

After dinner, the group moved to the outdoor game room. The evening air was cool and crisp as they gathered around, ready to unwind and enjoy the rest of the night.

Gwen, Colet, Mikha, and Jhoanna headed straight for the billiards table. They each grabbed a cue stick, casually leaning over the table, ready to begin a friendly but competitive game. Beer in hand, they joked and laughed, the clink of the glasses blending with the sound of the balls clicking against each other on the felt surface. The camaraderie was evident, with occasional bursts of laughter and playful banter.

Meanwhile, Sheena, Maloi, Aiah, and Stacey found a cozy spot on the large couch nearby. The cushions were soft, and the atmosphere was relaxed. They exchanged stories, catching up on each other's lives, while the faint sounds of the billiard game in the background added a gentle layer of noise. Maloi leaned into her side, her eyes occasionally drifting over to the pool table, while Sheena and Aiah engaged in a lively conversation about upcoming projects and events. Stacey, sitting a little apart from the others, was quieter, lost in her thoughts, but still very much part of the group.

It was a peaceful moment, with everyone finding their place in the evening's casual, easy rhythm. No rush, no pressure—just friends enjoying each other's company.

-----------------------------

As the night progressed, the drinks kept coming, and the atmosphere became even more relaxed. Maloi couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment watching her girlfriend laugh and bond with Gwen, Mikha, and Jhoanna. It was nice to see Colet so at ease with everyone—her circle of friends, her life, her world.

Mikha and Jhoanna, despite the earlier tension with Stacey, seemed to be warming up to the group. Mikha, especially, had a charm that quickly melted any remaining awkwardness. She was engaging and witty, and Maloi noticed that Aiah was particularly drawn to her, talking with her in the corner of the room, sharing a laughter that felt completely natural.

Stacey, while quieter than usual, wasn't as distant as before. Maybe it was the combination of the relaxed environment and a few drinks, but there was a noticeable shift. Maloi observed that the spark between Jhoanna and Stacey, which had been hidden before, was now out in the open. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and Maloi couldn't help but smile at the thought of Sheena's cupid plan actually coming together.

Sheena, sitting beside Maloi, caught her gaze and gave a wink. "I told you," she said with a playful grin.

Maloi chuckled, her thoughts running ahead. Maybe this weekend getaway was exactly what everyone needed—especially for some unexpected connections to form. The energy was different tonight, lighter, as if the past misunderstandings had faded away. Everyone seemed to be embracing the moment, and for once, there were no expectations, just the joy of being together.

As the conversation continued and more drinks flowed, Maloi couldn't help but think that Sheena might just be right—her plan for Cupid was working better than anyone could have expected.

-------------------

As the night wore on, Gwen and Sheena eventually excused themselves from the group, with Sheena already feeling the effects of the drinks. She was tipsy but in high spirits, laughing and teasing Gwen as they made their way to their room. The rest of the group continued to chat and unwind.

Colet, always observant, noticed that Maloi had started to slur her words just a little. She was tipsy too, and it was evident in the way she kept leaning into Colet, giving her affectionate smiles and soft compliments. Maloi's cheeks were flushed, and her eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint.

"You're so beautiful," Maloi murmured, her voice a little more playful than usual. She reached over and lightly touched Colet's arm, her fingers lingering as she smiled up at her. "I'm so lucky to have you."

Colet chuckled softly, amused by Maloi's tipsy flirtations. "Careful there, love. You might be making me blush," she teased, pulling Maloi a little closer. "But I have to admit, it's cute when you get like this."

Maloi grinned, giving Colet an exaggerated wink. "I mean it though," she said, her voice a little lower now. "I love you so much, Colet. You're perfect."

Colet smiled softly, leaning in to kiss Maloi on the forehead. "I love you too," she whispered, gently guiding her into her arms. Maloi settled against her, relaxed and content, as the conversation around them faded into the background.

The night was winding down, and while the others were still mingling, Maloi and Colet were already making their way toward their own room. Maloi continued to giggle softly, clearly in a lighthearted mood, and Colet couldn't help but be charmed by her tipsy antics.

-------------------

Colet gently helped Maloi settle onto the bed, brushing a few stray strands of hair away from her face as she took a moment to make sure Maloi was comfortable. But Maloi, still flushed from the alcohol, couldn't seem to keep her hands to herself. She reached out for Colet, her touch slow but deliberate, her fingers tracing the fabric of Colet's shirt.

"You're so cute," Maloi said with a soft, mischievous smile, her voice thick with affection. Her hands found their way to Colet's shoulders, massaging them lightly. "I'm so lucky, you know that?"

Colet chuckled softly, trying to hide the amused smile on her lips. "You're not making this easy, you know," she teased, kneeling beside Maloi on the bed. "You're so drunk, babe."

Maloi tilted her head back slightly, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of affection and playful mischief. "I'm not that drunk," she protested, her hands now gently pulling Colet closer. "I know what I want."

With a soft laugh, Colet leaned in, brushing her lips against Maloi's forehead. "We'll see," she whispered, but her hands already moved to gently cradle Maloi's face, her thumbs brushing over her cheeks as her lips softly met Maloi's in a gentle kiss.

The kiss deepened, fueled by the warmth of the moment, and the soft tipsiness that still lingered in the air. Maloi, unable to resist, moved her hands down Colet's back, pulling her closer, as the tension between them grew.

Colet pulled back slightly, her breath soft but steady. "Maloi, we should slow down a little. You've had a bit to drink," she said with a playful smile.

Maloi, already tipsy but still fully aware of her feelings for Colet, simply smiled and nuzzled her neck. "I'm fine... I just want you to know how much I love you," she murmured, the words tender and full of sincerity.

Colet couldn't resist, giving in to the moment, holding Maloi close as she felt her own heart race. "I love you too," she whispered back, as the night carried on with quiet intimacy, the world outside seeming distant as the two of them melted into each other's presence.
