Chapter 4

If Only She Knew (Lesbian stories)

The day went by pretty fast. There was some beach volleyball, some tanning and some almost drowning, but it was one of the best days I've had in a while.

We all grabbed our stuff and headed to the parking lot.

I followed Jake to his car. "Emma! Are you switching sides now?", Lily said. "I uh.. I just haven't really been with Jake today. Is it okay if I ride with him?", I said. She shrugged her shoulders. "Sure." I gave her a small smile and got in Jake's car.

"Are you okay?", he asked. I looked up at him. "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" "I don't know. That's why I asked." I gave him a small smile. "I'm okay", I said.

All I could think off was that kiss, and how she went along with it. Even if it was only for a second. My feelings were getting stronger, so I tried to stay away from her as much as I could. I didn't want these feelings to develop to the point we couldn't be friends anymore. It was already getting to that point. I just needed a little space.

"Ready to go babe?", Jake asked me. I looked at him and nodded. He smiled and put his hand on my thigh.

Jake started the car and followed to others.

"Thank you for asking me to come", I said. He nodded. "Of course. You deserve some fun." I smiled.

It was a long ride. We got stuck in traffic, and Lily kept texting me.

"I fucking hate traffic. Do you wanna go out tonight? :)", she texted. Our nights out were always fun. But I promised myself I would keep my distance from her for a while.

"I don't think I can. I'm really tired. Maybe some other time!" I looked in the rear view mirror and saw her facial expression change.

"It's okay. Some other time!", she texted. I let out a deep sigh.

"Everything okay?", Jake said. I nodded. "I just hate being stuck in traffic." "Everyone does", he said and chuckled. I smiled. "So do you want to grab some dinner tonight? Just the two of us", he said. I looked up at him and smiled. "I'd like that", I said. "Great! I'll drop you off, go home and take shower, get dressed, and pick you up again." I nodded. "Sounds good", I said.

Traffic finally let us through. "Finally", Jake said. "Could you hand me a bottle of water from the cooler?", he asked. "Sure." I loosened up my seatbelt and turned to the back. I noticed Lily still behind us and waved. She just smiled a little.

I reached for the cooler and grabbed a bottle.

"Here you go", I said handing it to Jake. "Thanks babe." I sat back in my seat, waiting for us to get back home.

My favorite song was playing on the radio. Jake turned it up. "This is your favorite, right?", he said. I smiled and nodded. I softly sang along, and Jake basically yelled along. I laughed and sang a little louder. He looked at me and smiled.

"That was fun", he said as the song finished. He turned down the volume. I nodded.

After a little while we arrived at my house.

"See you in a bit", he said. I nodded and pecked his lips. "See you later."

I got out of the car and looked for my keys.

"Looking for these?", Lily said running up to me. I smiled. "Where did you find these?", I asked. "In my car. They must've fallen out of your bag this morning."

"Thanks", I said. She nodded. "Hey, I'm sorry I can't go out with you tonight." She shrugged her shoulders. "It's okay. Some other time." I smiled and nodded. "See you later", she said. "See you later."

I opened the front door and stepped in. I waved at Jake and Lily before shutting the door.

I sighed as I let myself fall on the couch.
