☾ 17: Cheerleader ☾
Azure
When I opened the door to the house a note fell. I picked it up and saw it was from Laine's mom.
'There's a game today so I went to go watch Laine cheer. Feel free to come if you would like after all it's a school game.' -Grace
I completely forgot that was today. Knowing Laine was passionate about cheering I decided to go in support.
I grabbed my hoodie and started walking to the school's field. I hadn't realized how dark it had gotten already. It was quite cold out too.
When I got to the field I heard a crowd of people screaming and talking. I eyed an empty spot near the field and stood there.
A few minutes later Laine came out along with the other cheerleaders. She looked drop-dead gorgeous. All I could focus on was her voice which stood out to me from the others.
She was cheering her heart out and when she turned she saw me and smiled. I smiled back at her excitement when spotting me. When she had finished she immediately rushed over to me.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
I smiled. "Just thought I'd come to see you work your magic."
"Well, how'd you like it?"
"You were amazing both in performance and looks." I winked playfully.
I noticed her cheeks turn red.
"What a charmer." She said with a playful roll of her eyes.
Before I could reply I noticed she was slightly hugging herself trying not to look cold.
"Here." I took off my hoodie and handed it to her.
"Oh, it's okay! I don't want you to be cold." The concerned look on her face was adorable I couldn't help but smile.
"I'm fine," I said while putting my giddier over her head.
She continued to put it on herself sighing in contentment at the warmth.
"Thank you."
"Of course. What kind of monster would I be if I let you freeze?" I joked.
She laughed in response.
I took a seat on the grass and motioned for her to sit next to me. She instead sat on my lap looking at the field. I felt heat rise to my cheeks.
"The grass is too cold." She said simply.
I could tell she was smiling even though I couldn't see her face.
"Fine by me," I said putting my arms around her and placing my chin on her shoulder.
We sat like that throughout the game. She cheered a couple more times but quickly returned to her position on my lap afterward. It wasn't long before the game was over.
"Alright, we should head home now," I said as I tapped her thigh with my hand signaling her to get up.
When she didn't move I looked at her seeing she was fast asleep.
"Lovely. You so owe me after this one."
I somehow managed to get her onto my back. She's lucky I'm a werewolf and able to do this with ease.
I walked only a few steps when she mumbled softly. "Wait... My clothes are in the locker room."
"You can get them later," I said continuing to walk.
"No!" She whined. "My phone is in there and it's Friday."
"Fine." I placed her down on the bleachers.
"Wait here," I said though it wasn't like she was going anywhere half awake.
When I got to the locker room I realized I didn't know which locker was hers. Going by scent I quickly noticed the familiar smell of her perfume. I grabbed her stuff and made my way to the door.
"Cassy?"
I look back and I saw Heather.
"Hey," I replied.
"What are you doing here?" She asked curiously.
"Just getting Laine's things," I said lifting her stuff.
"Right. Where is she by the way?"
"At the bleachers."
She studied me for a moment. Her eyes fell toward my neck.
Getting nervous I said I should go and left without waiting for her to reply.
When I went back to the bleachers Laine was fully awake.
"Let's go," I told her.
"Carry me?" She said lifting her arms and smiling.
"No way! You're awake now so let's go I got your stuff."
"Please." She pouted.
Resist those eyes, Cassy!
"Where's your mom? Wouldn't she be here to take you home?" I asked.
"She doesn't take me home because I always have friends take me."
"Where would said friends be?"
"I told them to leave because I want you to carry me." She teased.
I sighed.
"You're spoiled you know?"
Her face lit up. I walked over, my back facing the bleachers.
"Hurry up."
She didn't climb on my back as I expected. Instead, she turned me around and put her arms around my neck jumping to wrap her legs around my waist.
"Not this way!" I said in blushing embarrassment.
"Why not?" She loosened her arms so she could see my face and smiled.
How can anyone say no to her when she gives that look?
On the way home, she seemed to get heavier signaling she fell asleep. When we arrived I plopped her into her bed. Her arms were still tight around my neck so I went down too.
I pried her arms off and fixed her properly on the bed. Then I turned off the light and opened the door about to leave.
"Cassy." She called out.
"What?" I whispered.
"Sleep with me."
My eyes grew to what felt like tennis balls. I know I've slept with her before but this time was different and the way she said it made me feel butterflies in my stomach.
"What? N-no!" I could feel my face burning up.
"J-just go to bed," I whispered.
"Please!" She whined eyes still shut.
"Your mom might catch us." I tried using that as an excuse.
"So?"
"So she won't want me living here anymore."
She was quiet for a moment then opened her eyes.
"Your face is red." She smirked still talking with a half-awake voice.
I turned away.
"Just go to sleep already.." I left and plopped onto my bed.
I knew my face was still red and it grew brighter when I felt something crawl into bed next to me.
"What are you doing here?" I turned seeing Laine next to me.
"Your door has a lock." She winked.
My heart started pounding.
"You're blushing again." She teased.
"Shut up," I whispered.
She looked so cute cuddled up in my bed that I couldn't help myself. I leaned over and kissed her. It was a small simple peck on the lips.
"I-I really like you, Laine." I finally admitted.
Her eyes widened like she wasn't expecting that. She looked fully awake now. After a few moments of staring, she got on top of me.
Sealing my lips in another kiss that lasted until the need for air was necessary.
"I really like you too." She said before I pulled her in for yet another sweet kiss.
I was pretty sure I was going to have a heart attack at this rate. Her lips were so soft it was addicting. She was pure perfection.
Catching our breath again she smiled down at me.
"We should probably go to sleep before my mom has a real reason to kick you out." She bit her lip. "We wouldn't be able to have any more sleepovers if caught doing something a bit more... breathtaking."
Feeling my cheeks turn red I nodded in response. She laid next to me and I held her in my arms as we fell asleep.
