Chapter 5

☾ 5: Werewolf ☾

Azure

Still half asleep I scratched my head. My hair soon got tangled in my fingers. Wait... My hair!

I opened my eyes and saw not a paw but my hand. As I sat up I looked around and I was still in that girl's bed. Panic began to build. Did she happen to see me in my human form? I hope not as that would be extremely difficult to explain. She did say she was going shopping with her mom today so she must have left before I changed. This is a good opportunity to leave before I'm caught.

I remove the blanket I was wrapped around only to see the only downside to shifting back. I was completely naked. I heard a car pulling into the driveway.

"Fuck." I cursed. Momentarily happy to hear my voice again.

I quickly headed over to the girl's closet and threw on a plain white shirt with black shorts. I took a quick look outside and saw it wasn't them but the neighbors.

"Oh, thank God." I walked to the balcony and sat on the ledge.

I really needed to figure out how to turn from wolf to human when I want to. Though I guess it doesn't matter much now since I'm leaving anyway.

"A white dog with blue eyes?" Someone said.

"Yes, have you seen her?" I heard a way too familiar voice reply.

I hopped off the balcony and peeked out the window seeing James talking to the next-door neighbor.

"No, I haven't I'm sorry I hope you find her soon."

"Thank you, me too I miss her deeply."

"Bullshit," I muttered.

He started making his way over to this house. Slowly I crept halfway down the stairs.

He knocked a couple of times.

"Hello, is anyone home? Hello?" After a few seconds, he walked away.

I need to be careful. Very careful. I decided to wait a few minutes before trying to leave in case he was just next door. As I put my hand on the doorknob I heard a car pull in.

"Please be the neighbors." I prayed.

Of course this time it turned out to be the girl and her mom.

"Are you fucking kidding me?"

Wasting no time I ran back upstairs just in time as the door swung open. Shutting the bedroom door softly behind me I walked to the balcony.

I wonder if I jumped... Would my legs be okay?

I don't know if I'm willing to risk that especially if James is still lurking around.

"Mom I'm going to go check on Snowball!"

That is the name that stuck? Really? Maybe I should jump.

With the shake of my head, I hid behind the door, and as she slowly opened it and came in. I quickly shut it and covered her mouth.

She obviously tried screaming.

"Shhh I'm not gonna hurt you but you have to be quiet!"

She tried to get away from my grasp but I was stronger than she was even with my still wounded arms.

"Honey, I'll be back I forgot something at the store." I heard her mom say as I heard the door close.

"Okay, now I'm gonna let you go but you have to promise me you won't yell."

She nodded. Bullshit. They always agree and then what happens? They yell. Keeping that precaution in mind I let go of her mouth. Without a second passing, I quickly pinned her to the floor holding both her wrists down.

"Help! Someone help me!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. Fuck I knew it! What am I gonna do? James is surely still around and if I let go of her wrists she could escape and tell someone.

I have to think fast my mind is racing and it doesn't help when she is screaming. I'm bad under pressure only one thought came to mind. I swallowed hard.

I quickly leaned down and pressed my lips against hers. This was just so I could shut her up. I didn't want to do it. My heart is solely racing for the purpose of being caught by James. Nothing else.

I could feel my face heating up. She stopped resisting no doubt being extremely confused. I quickly got up but still not letting go of her wrists.

"Y-you just c-couldn't be fucking quiet?!" I whispered yelled and turned away from her hoping she wouldn't see my red face.

She just lay there speechless. I got up at this point I didn't care if she tried running away anymore. I would run too, far away from here where my embarrassment lies.

As I sat down still thinking about what I just did she sat up. "W-who the heck are you?! And why are you wearing my clothes?" She yelled in a whisper.

I would've been thankful but at this point, I'd be shocked if the whole city hadn't heard her.

"First of all my name is Cassy, not Snowball! Snowball is a stupid name for a wolf might I add!" I said slightly angered but slowly calming down. "And I'm wearing your damn clothes because when I transformed I was naked! Also, I'm not a weirdo, you are! Changing in front of me and watching me do my business! Who does that?!"

She looked at me as though I had four eyes.

"What are you talking about are you mental? Are you high?"

Taking a deep breath you continued. "Listen, I can explain everything but you aren't going to believe me anyway."

"Try me."

Having nothing else to lose at this point I told her the whole story and she still looked at me like I was crazy.

"If you're really a wolf then prove it." She said with her arms crossed.

"I can't. I already told you I don't know how! It's not like I can just think about it and so easily do it."

"Have you even tried?"

I opened my mouth to speak but closed it just as quickly. Now that I think about it. I never really tried. How would I even attempt to do so? Just think about it?

"I'll take that as a no or that you are mentally ill."

I rolled my eyes. "Shh. Let me just... think for a..." "moment."

After trying to concentrate, I looked at her, and her eyes were as wide as ever. I looked down and saw I was a wolf again. Did I actually do it? Was it really that simple?

"H-how? That's not possible!" She spoke quietly.

Trying it once more I easily turned back into a human.

"Wow! Okay, maybe this is easier than I thought!" I smiled down at my hands.

When she didn't reply I looked back up at her and she turned away blushing.

"What?"

"Y-you might want to get some clothes on." I looked down and I was naked again. The clothes I was previously wearing were torn up at my feet. My face turned red and I quickly got another pair of clothes on.

She let out a small giggle at my misfortune.

"Hey, you don't get to laugh at me! You were about to change in front of me!"

"Yeah, but I didn't know you were... well a werewolf."

I groaned. "Don't call me that. it reminds me of that stupid movie." I glared at her.

She shrugged. "Well, I think werewolves are hot."

There was a hint of a certain look in her eyes that made me quickly look away feeling myself get red again.

"You know I never got your name." I changed the subject.

"Laine." She smiled.

A few hours passed and I saw her mom for the first time well as a wolf. She bought me some dog food and gave me some but I was craving meat. Also under no circumstances will I ever eat dog food. Laine was able to sneak me a sandwich thankfully and after dinner, Laine and I went to her room.

"Well come on Cassy it's time for bed." She teased and patted the bed.

I went to her closet grabbed some clothes and went to her bathroom to transform.

"Ha ha very funny. No way." I said plainly.

"Then where are you gonna sleep?" She playfully feigned innocence.

"The floor," I replied sitting on the ground

"Come on I'm just messing with you."

"Goodnight."

"Fine, then I'll sleep on the floor too." She started grabbing her pillow ready to join me.

I rolled my eyes. She's stubborn.

"Okay okay. Bed it is."

"Yay!"

"You're a brat you know." I lay down next to her but more towards the edge of the bed.

I was too uncomfortable being so close to her.

"That's mean. Hey, you're gonna end up falling off the bed." She put her arm around me and pulled me closer.

My heart practically jumped out of my chest. She kept her arm around me and came closer. I could feel her breath on my ear.

"You stole my first kiss earlier so you owe me." She whispered and turned around letting me go in the process.

Well, it's official my heart just exploded, my face is boiling red, and I like women.
