Chapter 289
President’s Twins: Buy One, Get One Free
Met with Hayden's doubt, the old and the young stared at each other for a moment through a safety net. When the little child was about to speak, Harrison coughed sharply.
âCough cough cough, cough cough coughâ
The butler on the side, Mark, immediately understood, stepped forward and asked with concern.
âSir, are you okay?â
Hayden also asked and had thrown her doubts she had to the back of her head.
âIt's okay, it's a bit cold outside, letâs go back, it's going to get dark later.â
Harrison was getting older, so it was reasonable to make such a request.
Hayden called the two little children out of the playground area. After a round of enjoined, she gave them to Mark and Harrison for them to bring them away.
When they were leaving, Stella still looked reluctant. However, through the car window, Hayden saw Harrison taking out a box of chocolates like a trick which were coincidentally the two childrenâs favorite.
The little girl opened her eyes and smiled almost instantly.
The little glutton.
Hayden couldnât help but shook her head helplessly and called for a taxi on the side of the road.
âHi, Green Community .â
After Hayden left, Joseph and Benjamin were left in the apartment. The two severely ill patients only had each other. Compared to Benjamin who wasnât speaking logically due to his flu, it was easier for Hayden to care for Joseph.
âI feel Hayden is still reluctant to talk to you.â
In the living room, Benjamin stretched his head out from the sofa blanket and forcefully blew his nose, and threw the tissue into the trash can.
âAren't you going to do something? After all, you were wrong about it. Donât think that this illness can cover it up. Hayden is just not going to argue with a patient.â
Joseph didn't look like a sick person. He was currently standing behind the marble table in the kitchen with a teapot in his hand pouring tea and looked fresh.
He didn't even lift his head, âJust take care of your own business.â.
âYou can't pretend to be sick for a lifetime.â
Joseph just glanced at him as he took out two cups of boiled water from the kitchen and placed one cup in front of Benjamin and the medicine beside him.
âAnother round of medicine?â
Benjamin sighed, âWhy do I feel that the more medicine I take, the worst I feel?â
âThis is to be taken before your meal. If you don't want to have your meal, you can have it later.â
Joseph's expression was faint, âAlso, the doctor prescribed the medicine for you, it not what I want you to take.â.
âWhy doesn't the doctor prescribe it for you?â
âHe did,â Joseph gave him a meaningful look.
Benjamin was unable to think due to his flu however when he saw his eyes he realized. He reached out from the blanket and touched the cap of the bottle that contained the medicine. He immediately poured it into his mouth and swallowed it down with water, and unclearly said, âTreat it as I didnât say anything.â.
Joseph had long recovered from his flu. Even if he did not take any medication, he would have recovered since it way past the usual flu downtime.
Besides, he also took a few days of medication. If it wasnât for Benjamin who discovered that he had thrown the medication into the dustbin, he really wouldnât have discovered that he had been pretending to be sick until now.
It was treated as a personal favor. For Joseph did not rush to tell Hayden that Benjamin had recovered his memories. Likewise, Benjamin helped to keep the secret.
There was a sound of opening the door. Benjamin hadnât even registered it but Joseph had swiftly switched from an upright position to a slouching resting position with the blanket covering him.
âYouâre really good!", Benjamin glanced at him.
In the next second, Hayden opened the door with two supermarket shopping bags in her hands.
âWeâre eating hotpot tonight.â
Benjamin reluctantly raised his hand with a stuffy nose, âI have no objection.â.
While Hayden was changing her shoes, she looked at the two sick patients, âBenjamin you are wearing too little, why donât you cover yourself with a blanket?â.
Benjamin immediately glanced towards the opposite upon hearing it. The warm blanket which was originally on him had been snatched over by the person who was pretending to be sick. Hearing this, c glanced at the opposite side.
Just about he was about to speak, a violent cough came from the other side, âCough cough...â.
If it wasnât for Hayden who was still present, Benjamin would want to present Joseph with a big thumbs up for his acting.
âWhat's wrong? Are you okay?â
Hayden immediately walked over to and also checked the temperature of Josephâs forehead, âIt's been more than a week, and you still havenât recovered from your flu. Would you like to go to the hospital?â
Joseph shook his head and said with a hoarse voice, âNo need, Iâll just rest at home.â.
As he said it, the corner of his eyes fell onto Benjamin signalling a stern warning.
Benjamin pouted and went back to the room as he didnât want to feel annoyed.
âThat's not okay.â
Hayden retracted her hand and turned to carry the two bags into the kitchen, âNoah had just been picked up by your grandfather. I think your grandfather must have wanted you to go back to ST.â
âNot going.â
Joseph's voice came from behind.
Hayden placed the two bags on the kitchen counter and took the items out of the bags.
âWhy don't you go? It canât be you are still angry with your grandfather, right? It's normal for old people to be a little stubborn. Since he had already given you a way out, you should take it.â
âI think life is pretty good now.â
The colorful floral shirt which was purchased by Hayden in bulk was showing up underneath the blanket Joseph was wrapped in. He turned his head and looked towards the direction of the kitchen with gentle eyes.
âWhich man stays at home?â
Hayden murmured, âDo whatever you like after all itâs your matterâ.
Joseph's expression slightly changed upon hearing it, and his original gentleness had also sunk to the bottom of his eyes.
âAre you still angry over the banquet that day?â
Hayden's who was picking vegetables paused and said without looking up, âNo, itâs been so long, youâre thinking too much. Take care of your illness.â
Her embarrassment was captured by Joseph who perceived it as anger, and he explained, âI told you before. What Belinda told me that day, was what Michelle said to you in front of those people. I just told her to shut up. At the time, I didn't know that this happened at the reception, but I didnât want you to hear it.â
âYou said beforeâ, Hayden continued to bury her head into picking vegetables, and from the corner of her eye, she noticed that Joseph had stood up from the sofa. He was walking towards her. With a good figure so good, it couldnât even be hidden by the floral shirt and beige loungewear pants.
Hayden didn't care much about the fact that he and Belinda came out of the lounge at the banquet. It was due to the mood at the banquet which was bad that she made a fuss.
She hadnât taken it seriously but Joseph seemed to have been worried about it all the time.
âBut I think you seem to be upset all the time.â
Joseph walked to the kitchen door and looked at Hayden's side profile with concern, âSince I came back from the banquet, I have been pondering about it, what can't you tell me?â
âCan we stop talking about that dayâs matter? I don't want to hear about it,â Hayden took a deep breath as the nervousness weighed her heart.
âIt was just a setup.â
âIf itâs not?â
