Chapter 294
President’s Twins: Buy One, Get One Free
The alarm by the bed was ringing nonstop, so Hayden reached her hand out and pushed randomly, but it didnât stop. She then opened eyes and found out that it was still middle of the night and it was three oâclock in the morning.
She then realized that it was the phoneâs buzzing.
âPresident Downey, there is an accident in the warehouse.â
Danteâs words were echoing in Haydenâs ear on the way she went to the warehouse. There was still burning fire when Joseph drove Hayden to the warehouse. Two firefighting trucks were combating the fire and fire fighters tried to use huge volumes of water to contain the fire. But it didnât seem to be working.
âWhat happened?â
Hayden immediately saw Dante right after she got off the car. He looked dirty and seemed that heâd just run out of the fire scene.
âI checked the inventory and left at eight oâclock. Then I asked Freddie to check this batch of products again last tonight, but he called one hour ago and said there was a fire. We didnât know the cause of the fire yet, but we are definitely not the one to blame.â
âWhatâs the point of saying that?â
Holding her forehead, Hayden was nearly out of breath.
Amid panicking, she just blurted out, âWeâre one week till the deadline! I told you that we should deliver these products today to avoid any unpredicted troubles, but you just had to send them back to the warehouse! Why were you so paranoid!â
Danteâs eyes were filled with redness, but he just lowered his head and didnât respond to Haydenâs yelling.
Joseph canât bear to watch anymore and stopped Hayden, âStay calm. The fire hasnât been put out yet. We donât know what happened. Itâs useless to yell at him. we should think some solutions.â
âWhat solutions? Weâre done for!â
Hayden was pretty agitated and yelled at Joseph. She then furiously kicked the cardboard box next to her aside.
This was Green Lemonâs first order and got off on a rocky start. They were finally about to close the deal, but this fire just happened suddenly.
Hayden thought that this was definitely a man-made disaster.
She was afraid that something like this would happen before, so she proposed they should send this first batch to the West Group, but Dante insisted on sending all of the products together. Then this accident happened.
Anna also got the call and rushed to the warehouse. Exchanging eye look, Anna and Joseph each guarded one side and separated Hayden and Dante so they can have room to cool off.
Though Dante didnât say anything, he was also furious inside.
He quit his last job because his former supervisor didnât believe in him and wanted to blame him for something that he had never done. Now, he encountered a similar situation and felt terrible.
âCalm down first.â
Bringing Hayden back to the car, Joseph took off his jacket and covered her shoulder. âItâs not that terrible.â
âIs it? But I think itâs absolutely awful. Iâm not competent enough to manage the whole Group. I should have just run Green Lemon myself, but I throw everything to Dante.â Hayden was pretty devastated and muttered the whole sentence with her head burying in the knee.
Looking at her stricken figure, Joseph took a deep breath and then said, âWe have two solutions now. The first is that we lose money to save our commercial credit. We can negotiate with the West Group to see if we can postpone half a month to deliver the products, but we have to pay at least 50% of penalty. So we would lose a pretty hefty of money on this deal.â
âThe worst scenario would be we lose all the money and canât still buy back our credit.â Clenching her fist, Hayden said, âFranklin must be waiting for the time which we lose both the money and credit, so he can acquire the company.â
âWe would use the second solution then.â Joseph said calmly. âWe have one week till the due day. Dante said that this warehouse only stored half of our products and the other half was in the secondary factory. So we can pay high price to activate all the factories in Nanking to deliver this half of products within a week.â
âOne week? Itâs impossible.â
âNothing is impossible. It all depends on the human effort.â Haydenâs agitated mood was slowly smoothened by Josephâs firm eyes.
The fire was finally put out by the daybreak. Joseph had two technicians to wait for the news onsite and asked other people to leave.
Hayden called an emergency meeting at the company the first thing in the morning and sent different people to all the secondary factories in Nanking to negotiate all the orders. She was pretty busy the whole time and didnât get the time to speak to Dante when she met him.
âDante, President Downey was just panicking. She didnât really mean to blame you. Donât think too much of it.â
Standing in the pantry, Anna consoled Dante.
Danteâs face was tanned by the sizzling sun and people really canât see his look.
They suddenly heard a conversation when they were about to leave, âWell, I think itâs probably people within the company who started the fire. Donât you hear that our company is about to be acquired by ST Group? But President Downey didnât agree and was negotiating with St Group.â
âWithin the company? Who it can be? Cut the nonsense.â
âWell, it can only be the person who got to the site first.â
Hearing their words, Anna glanced at Dante nervously, then she was pulled back when she was about to step out.
âWhat? Designer Burke? It canât be.â Then people outside started discussing heatedly.
âWhy it canât be? Donât you guys know his past experience? You know he was fired before because he did such treacherous behavior. He was living in the company and was working hard, but President Downey didnât even offer him a place to live. Donât you see why?â
The person who was talking acted like she knew everything.
âDonât you guys know he lives in the company? That break room in the designer office is filled with his stuff. He must choose to leave if the West Group offers him something.â
âWell, Iâm afraid that the West Group wouldnât be able to offer what I want.â
Danteâs loud and clear voice came from the pantry.
People immediately got nervous and were avoiding his eyes.
âIâm living in the company because I have to expedite my work on the designer contest. As for the inferior treatment that President Downey offered me, Iâm really curious what kind of treatment all the top designers in the Nanking are having.â
Dante glanced at the crowd indifferently and said, âThe Peony Mansion in the Summer Road is the place that President Downey assigned me. You can google its square meter price yourself. Sure, the West Group can offer me this kind of villa, but Iâm afraid that its new president doesnât have the power to grant that much of money.â
All people stayed silent.

âWhy are you all circling around Dante?â
Dressed in a dark green suede windbreaker and wide-leg trousers, Hayden asked briskly. Then she stood still and said, âI donât want to hire people who are nosy and dreaming about living in a mansion.â
