The Wedding Prep Disaster
Cold Brew | Lingorm
Two weeks before the wedding, the air was charged with anticipationâand a bit of chaos. Lingling was determined to ensure every detail of their special day was flawless. Armed with a color-coded checklist, she had orchestrated a full day of final wedding preparations. Orm, ever the peacemaker, had agreed to tag along, knowing full well that Lingling in CEO mode was a force of nature.
The day began at Blooming Beans, where the couple had gathered with Becky, Freen, Suzy, and their parents. Lingling, dressed impeccably in her casual chic outfit, stood at the head of the table like she was preparing for a board meeting.
"Today," Lingling announced, her voice calm but commanding, "we leave no room for error. This wedding will be perfect."
Becky leaned back in her chair, smirking. "Oh, sweetheart, weddings and perfection don't mix. Chaos is part of the charm."
Orm chuckled nervously. "This is going to be a long day."
The group's first stop was the florist. Lingling had ordered a stunning arrangement of white orchids and roses to complement the elegant wedding theme. But when the florist wheeled out the arrangements, they were met with a chaotic mix of bright daisies and sunflowers.
Lingling's eye twitched. "This isn't a garden party. It's a wedding."
The florist stammered an apology, explaining there had been a mix-up with another order. Lingling's calm facade began to crack.
Becky, ever the instigator, whispered to Freen, "Do you think she's about to blacklist the florist?"
Freen smirked. "Five bucks says yes."
Orm tried to diffuse the tension, placing a gentle hand on Lingling's arm. "It's not that bad, Ling. We can fix it."
Lingling turned to the florist, her tone icy. "You'll fix it. Today."
The florist nodded vigorously, promising to make the corrections by the next morning.
Next on the checklist was the bridal boutique for Lingling and Orm's final fittings. Orm was excited to see her dress in its full gloryâuntil she noticed the lace detailing was missing. Meanwhile, Lingling discovered her perfectly tailored wedding dress was slightly too snug, restricting her movement.
Lingling took a deep breath, her voice clipped. "This is unacceptable. Do you know who I am?"
Orm tried to lighten the mood, joking, "Well, I was planning to breathe during the ceremony, so I hope this gets fixed."
Becky and Freen, sitting nearby, couldn't hold back their laughter.
"They're going to need a miracle," Becky whispered.
Lingling shot them a sharp glare. "Do not test me."
Orm's mom, ever the peacekeeper, stepped in. "Don't worry, girls. We'll handle this."
The group then made their way to the bakery to inspect the wedding cake. Lingling had chosen a sophisticated design with subtle floral accents. Instead, they were greeted with a cake topped by a cartoonish figurine of a bride dragging a reluctant groom.
Orm burst into laughter. "It's so us. Let's keep it!"
Lingling stared at the topper, her expression blank. "Absolutely not."
Becky, quick to seize the moment, snapped a picture. "This is going in the scrapbook."
As the group reconvened at the café later that day, the door swung open to reveal none other than Ying. She was dressed to the nines, her entrance turning heads as usual.
"I heard the wedding prep needed a goddess's touch," Ying announced with a playful smirk.
Lingling's icy glare was immediate. "We're fine without divine intervention, thank you."
Ying ignored her, sauntering over to Orm and casually brushing her arm. "You must be so stressed, Orm. Let me know if you need a... distraction."
Orm, sensing Lingling's mood, laughed nervously and took a step back. "Uh, Ling's got it covered."
Lingling crossed her arms, her tone dangerously calm. "Ying, unless you're here to carry flowers, I suggest you leave."
Ying raised an eyebrow but backed off, clearly amused.
After a long day of disasters, Lingling finally snapped. Back at the café, she sank into a chair, burying her face in her hands.
"This is a disaster. Everything is falling apart," she muttered.
Orm knelt in front of her, gently taking her hands. "Ling, none of this matters. Flowers, dresses, cakesâthey're just details. What matters is us."
Lingling looked at her, her tension easing slightly. "I just want it to be perfect for you."
Orm smiled softly. "It already is. Because we're doing it together."
As Lingling and Orm shared their moment, Becky and Freen started decorating a corner of the café with the daisies, the cartoon cake topper, and a hand-written "Plan B" sign.
Suzy walked in and gasped. "What are you doing?"
Becky grinned. "Creating a backup wedding. In case Lingling implodes."
Lingling looked over, her glare icy. "That better not leave this building."
Becky smirked. "You're welcome."
Before the day ended, both families stepped in to reassure the couple.
Lingling's mom placed a hand on her shoulder. "Everything will come together. You've done a wonderful job, Lingling."
Orm's dad added with a warm smile, "And remember, weddings are meant to be joyful. Don't let the small stuff ruin it."
Lingling nodded, her confidence slowly returning. "Thank you."
That evening, back at the penthouse, Orm and Lingling collapsed onto the couch, exhausted but happy.
Orm leaned into Lingling, grinning. "See? Chaos isn't so bad."
Lingling sighed. "It is when Becky and Freen are involved."
They shared a quiet kiss, both feeling ready to face whatever chaos the next two weeks would bring.
