The Wedding Day

Cold Brew | Lingorm

The morning sun filtered through the tall windows of Lingling's suite, highlighting the whirlwind of activity. Lingling stood in front of the full-length mirror in her wedding dress, clutching the necklace Orm had gifted her months ago. She was a vision of elegance, but her fidgeting betrayed her nerves.

Milk leaned against the vanity, arms crossed, a mischievous grin on her face. "Are those actual tears, Ling? I thought the Ice Queen didn't cry."

Lingling shot her sister a glare, but the effect was softened by the nervous energy radiating off her. "I'm not crying. I just... want everything to go perfectly."

Freen, seated on the chaise lounge with a glass of champagne in hand, smirked. "Careful, Ling. If you keep this up, your makeup artist might stage a walkout."

Lingling huffed but said nothing, her gaze shifting back to the mirror. "Everything has to be perfect."

"Everything is perfect," Suzy chimed in, adjusting the hem of Lingling's dress. "Especially the bride."

Meanwhile, in Orm's suite, the atmosphere was entirely different. Orm was lounging in her robe, a content smile playing on her lips as Becky paced the room, double-checking the schedule.

"You look annoyingly calm," Becky remarked, narrowing her eyes. "Are you secretly panicking? Because if you are, I need to document it."

Orm chuckled. "Why would I panic? I'm marrying the love of my life."

Becky rolled her eyes. "Ugh. Disgustingly romantic. Lingling's rubbed off on you."

Orm grinned, glancing at her dress hanging nearby. "It's true, though. She's everything I could've ever hoped for."

Becky smirked. "Well, don't cry later. I don't think your waterproof mascara is that waterproof."

The outdoor venue was a masterpiece of Lingling's meticulous planning. White flowers adorned every surface, fairy lights sparkled above the aisle, and the elegant décor radiated sophistication.

Lingling's parents stood off to the side, marveling at the scene. Her mother turned to her father, a mix of awe and disbelief on her face. "I still can't believe it. She's actually getting married. I thought she'd live in her office forever."

Her father chuckled. "Well, she found someone who could pry her away from it."

On the other side, Orm's parents were equally delighted. Her father leaned toward her mother, grinning. "I'm just glad someone managed to tame her."

Milk, standing near Freen, smirked. "Let's see if Lingling cries. That'll be the real miracle."

Freen raised her champagne glass in mock seriousness. "She'll cry. I'll bet my bonus on it."

The music began, and the guests turned their attention to the aisle. At the end, Orm appeared, radiant in her wedding dress, her usual playful energy replaced by a quiet awe.

Lingling, standing at the altar, immediately felt her breath hitch. Her hand clutched her bouquet tightly as her eyes shimmered with unshed tears.

"She's already tearing up," Freen whispered to Becky.

"I know," Becky replied, grinning. "I didn't think we'd see the Ice Queen melt today."

Orm's smile grew wider as she walked down the aisle, her eyes locked on Lingling. Every step felt deliberate, as if she were walking toward her entire world. By the time she reached the altar, Lingling's tears threatened to spill.

As Orm took her place beside Lingling, she reached out, brushing her thumb gently over Lingling's knuckles. "Don't cry yet," she whispered with a teasing smile. "Save it for the vows."

Lingling let out a soft laugh, blinking rapidly. "No promises."

Orm took a deep breath, her hands holding Lingling's as she began. Her voice was steady, but the emotion in her eyes betrayed the love she felt.

"Lingling, when I first met you, I didn't know you were going to change my life. I only knew that you were intense, focused, and far too serious for your own good. But there was something about you—this quiet strength, this determination—that drew me in, even when I didn't realize it. I knew you were the one when you glared the first time I made you coffee."

The crowd chuckled softly, and Orm smiled before continuing.

"You're my partner, my best friend, and the reason my world feels whole. You've taught me what it means to love deeply, to trust completely, and to believe in forever. I promise to keep making you laugh, even when it's at my own expense. I promise to stand by you through every challenge, every late-night brainstorming session, and even every overly detailed wedding spreadsheet."

Orm's voice softened as she added, "But most of all, I promise to love you—not just for who you are today, but for who you'll be tomorrow, and every day after that. You are my home, Lingling, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

As Orm finished, Lingling's composure wavered, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. The crowd sat in awed silence, the depth of Orm's love hanging in the air.

Lingling closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady herself. When she opened them, her voice wavered as she began.

"Orm, you walked into my life when I wasn't looking for anything—when I thought I didn't need anything. I had my routine, my plans, my perfectly organized world. But you... you came in and disrupted everything in the most beautiful way. You taught me how to let go, how to laugh more, and how to trust not just in love, but in someone else."

She paused, her voice trembling. "I wasn't ready for you, Orm. But you waited for me. You were patient when I didn't know how to open up. You stayed when I was too stubborn to admit I was scared. You showed me that love isn't about perfection; it's about acceptance, about growing together, and about finding joy in the chaos."

Lingling's hands tightened slightly around Orm's, her tears falling freely now. "I promise to love you with everything I have, to support you in all your dreams. I promise to protect what we've built, to stand by your side through every challenge, and to never stop learning from you."

Her voice softened as she finished, "You brought color to my world, Orm. You brought warmth to a heart I didn't even know was cold. You are my greatest joy, my deepest love, and the best decision I've ever made. I promise you this life and every life after, because wherever you are, that's where I belong."

By the time Lingling finished, tears streamed down her cheeks, and Orm's smile was soft and full of love. Orm reached up, gently wiping away Lingling's tears, her own eyes shimmering.

The officiant smiled warmly. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss."

Lingling didn't hesitate. She stepped forward, pulling Orm into a deep, heartfelt kiss that left the crowd cheering.

Freen leaned toward Becky. "Well, that's dramatic."

Becky grinned. "Very on-brand."

As the ceremony ended and the newlyweds walked back down the aisle, their families erupted into celebration.

Lingling's mom clutched her husband's arm, tears streaming down her face. "I never thought I'd see her like this. She's so happy."

Orm's mom hugged Lingling tightly. "Thank you for loving her the way she deserves."

Milk, watching from a distance, wiped a tear from her eye and nudged Freen. "I'll admit it. I cried."

Freen smirked, holding out her hand. "You owe me a bonus."
