East Forest, 8th March 2011
Elektra chided silently as she rubbed her sore neck. It had been a tiring night for her. She killed a Succubus earlier tonight before going to the graveyard and killed the uncontrollable zombies. They were tiring creatures, really, causing her enough trouble than she could ask for.
Succubus can be a considered as a very dangerous creature. A female demon appears very enchanting and alluring. They seemed like human, appearing like a very beautiful woman, which makes it hard for anyone to realize it. They seduce men, sometimes-even women into having sexual encounters with them before leaving them dead.
Not all of them are evil. Some of them are just being them, living in their nature and some others thought it would be fun to kill their prey, taking in too much of them until they lose everything.
The Elves came to her and told her that there was a Succubus in town and this one is probably looking for more. Elektra had never met them before but she knew how they work. Due to the Succubus nature, she had to snuck into a club and watch her every move, which left her disgusted half of the way before going into action when she was about to kill the man she had seduced.
Elektra, however, made a stupid move. She underestimated the Succubus. They were good fighters. The demon managed to make her sword fell off far from her. The Succubus almost bit her neck off if it wasnât for the dagger in her pocket. She managed to plunge the dagger in the Succubus' eye, before rolling to her sword and cut its head off.
Sighing as she straightened her sore back due to the impact from the battle, she had with the Succubus, she entered the forest, patrolling with the moonlight guiding her way.
When she was deep in the forest, her eyes spot an orange glimmer in the dark few metres away from her. Her brows furrowed and she titled her head to the sky and saw smoke rising above the green trees.
Fire.
Without wasting any time, she started running towards the orange glimmer. Heat smacked her skin as a flaming house came into her view. The sudden noise few feet from the cottage made her turns her head swiftly. She saw a few men running from the scene. Judging from their speed, she knew they were vampires.
Sweats started to cover her and soot hung above her. She looked at the house and thought back to the vampire that escaped. She could feel that something was just not right aside from the burning cottage.
The door of the cottage was open, and thankfully, it was not covered with flames. However, she could see how bad it was inside of it.
She craned her neck as she knew what she was about to do was stupid before running into the flaming house.
The heat amplified and stuck on her skin. The soot in the air made her cough and she was sure her face was painted with them.
She stood on the wooden ground that was not covered with fire. The walls both on her side were not burning horribly, making her able to get out if she was fast enough.
With an arm placed above her eyes to protect her vision, she scanned the place, searching for any living organism. Her eyes stopped at the sight of an unconscious man tied up to a chair. His head soaked with blood and his face battered and bruised. Fire circled him and half of the foot of the chair covered in flames. Fire burned at the background and almost reaching the roof.
Blinking her eyes and covering her mouth with her hand before inhaling as much air as she could get before running across the flame and towards the man.
She hissed in pain when the flame made contact with legs. She was sure a part of her legs was burned but she did not stop. She immediately took her sword as she reached the man and cut the rope that was tying him. He slumped down to her and she let him lean towards her body while she placed her sword back in its sheath.
Wrapping an arm around his waist and placing his arm around her neck, she lifted him up. She let out a yelp of pain and looked to her left foot. The fabric gone, her skin burned and bleeding. Gritting her teeth, she bared the pain and hoisted him up as she headed the door.
Looking back at the fire, she knew that was the cottage was going to collapse. Holding the man tighter, she walked, more likely limped faster towards the door, which, frame was already covered with flames.
The fire hit her skin as she walked out of the burning building. The pain was amplified but she ignored it. When they were further away from the burning house, she inhaled a lungful of air and enjoyed the cool air hitting her face. Slowly, she laid the man on the ground before collapsing beside him.
As she breathed in the oxygen greedily, her hand went up to the manâs neck, checking for a pulse. Her heart dropped when she found none. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she pulled her hand away and buried her face in the grass, closing her eyes in sadness as she had failed to save him.
A loud cough startled her as she sat up and turned to where the sound came from. Her eyes went wide open as she saw the man coughing hardly, before letting out a groan of pain.
He opened his eyes slowly and she went to his side.
She caught the bluest eyes she had ever seen before his eyelids fell over them again.
âYouâre a vampire.â She figured since he was still alive and she felt no pulse on his neck.
He could only grunt in reply. Seeing he was still alive though needed medical attention or in his case blood, she decided to bring him back to the lair.
âCan you stand?â She asked.
He gave her a hesitant nod and tried to stand up. Seeing him having difficulties with it, she wrapped an arm around him and helped him up.
âYou okay?â She asked. Even though she seemed fine, she was hiding her pain. Her leg was killing her and her burned arm and hand made it worst.
He frowned and nodded. They started walking out of the forest towards her bike. She figured it wouldnât be much problem since he could hold onto her while she drove.
âYou need to heal. I have supplies of blood and I could give you...but no funny business after you healed, got that?â
The vampire grunted in agreement.
They rode on the motorbike with his arms wrapped around her and his body leaning towards her for support. He went unconscious again half way to the lair and it was hard for her to help him to the bed since she was too, in pain.
After half an hour of inserting blood in him and tending to her wounds, Elektra sat on her chair and stared at the unconscious vampire on the bed who was no longer bleeding though his face was still a little bruised.
âI went through a lot of trouble for you. Youâd better not try any funny business or Iâll cut your head off.â Elektra muttered softly.
His sudden chuckle startled her. He was awake. The vampire turned his head to her and once again, she felt herself looking into his sea blue eyes in awe.
âDonât worry. Iâm not a bad guy. Pretty much badass though.â He talked. She noticed the thick British accent in his voice, making her wonder in curiosity.
âYouâre not from here.â She stated.
âNo. I was somewhere in Italy...decided to stay here...though I was born in Yorkshire, England 200 years ago.â
âYouâre old.â She blurted out, impressed with his age.
He let out a gasp and gave her a disbelieving look. âI beg your pardon. Last time I checked I havenât aged and women still swarming over me.â
Ah, he was a ladiesâ man. She thought.
She chuckled before shaking her head. She looked up at him and saw him looking at her with a soft smile on his face.
âThank you for saving me. Iâll forever be in your debt.â He confessed.
Elektra gave him a small smile in return and shrugged. âItâs okay. You donât need to owe me.â
âOh, but I do. Whatâs your name?â He asked.
âElektra Potter.â
His blue eyes widened in recognization and gleamed with happiness. âWell, Elektra Potter, the Protector. From this day on, Iâll stick with you and be your bff and thereâs nothing you could do to stop me.â

South Forest, 20th September 2013 - Present
She couldnât hear anything around her as her ears muffled the noise around her. Every sense she had stopped working. Her eyes were the only one working, staring intensely and horridly at the stake piercing through Henryâs chest.
She felt as if air had left her and as if someone had punched her in the gut. She could not believe this was happening. Her head screamed that all of this is nothing more than a nightmare and sheâd soon wake up from it- but it wasnât. It was happening.
She could hear the muffled sound of his heavy breathing, how shaky his breath was and how he much in pain he was. Those sounds amplified the pain in her, making her realize that this was real.
She was in pain from watching him hurting.
The sound of her name yelled out loudly slapped her back to consciousness. She heard a gunshot but felt nothing but hear sounds of yelps and grunts being released and she knew Angela had protected them.
Moving swiftly around, turning Henry around, shielding him as she was now facing her enemies, she took out her gun and fired at the incoming vampires. Her shots made its way to their hearts and they growled in pain before falling to the ground.
Her eyes scanned her enemy and the rage in her build when she saw the familiar face. Without wasting time, she pulled the trigger and the bullet went through his leg, making him scream in pain. She was unsatisfied. The rage in her was describable. She was angry, fuming.
She pulled the trigger again when he tried to shoot her with the stake gun and the bullet his arm and his shoulder making him drop the gun to the floor. The gun flew away from him when he tried to reach it and Elektra turned to Angela giving her a thankful look.
Angela went to her side, taking Henry of her arm, and laid him in the floor, checking his wound.
âIt missed the heart...very close though.â Angela breathed out.
Elektra noticed that there was a small graze on her shoulder and it was bleeding. Realization hit her that Angela had been shot.
âAnge, your shoulder...â
âItâs nothing but a small graze. Iâm fine. Henry however is not.â She said.
Turning her face to him and seeing the pain in his face and the wound, tears threatened to fall off.
Angelaâs hand suddenly made its way to the stake and before she knew it, Angela pulled it out of his chest. Henry growled in pain. His fangs were sticking out and his eyes turning pitch black as his back arch to the front.
The tears fell off when she heard the pain in his growl. Gritting her teeth, she blamed herself for this. Henry wouldnât be hurt if it wasnât for her.
He laid back down and Elektra reached out for his hand, holding it tightly while the other caressed his cheek.
âHenry...â She choked. âIâm sorry.â
Henry tried to give her a smile but it came out painfully. âItâs alright, Ela. Iâm fine. Didnât hit my heart.â He grunted.
It was a blunt lie. He was not fine. She could see it on his face. He was hurting, dealing with such great pain that she had cause.
Letting out a sob, Elektra clutched to his dear hand tightly before dropping her forehead gently on his, closing her eyes in pain and grief.
âIâm so so sorry.â She whispered.
This was her mistake. She was stupid. She should have never listened and trusted the vampire hunter. She should have known that Craig was lying.
Feeling the rage growing in her again, she wanted revenge. Slowly releasing Henryâs hand as she got off the floor, she turned and made her way to the vampire hunter who was on the floor, his back leaning on the wall. The look on his terrified face confirmed how deadly she looked right now.
Grabbing his collar with her hands, she pulled him towards her. âYou lied to me!â She roared.
She sounded so angry and upset, she barely recognized her voice.
Craig gave her a sneer and smirked. âYouâd think that I would help you? Silly little Protector, living in a delusional life. I would rather work with the vampires than work with you.â
âWhy?â
Craig let out a snort and replied. âItâs simple, really. Magnus could give me more than you can. Besides, I hate you, remember? Because of you, existing, we arenât able to get our hands on most of the vampires. With you out of the way, thereâll be more.â
âYouâre playing a dangerous game, Craig. Youâd think heâd give you all that?â She snarled. âWhere are Magnus and Vlad?â
âI wouldnât fuc-â
He never got to finish his words as Elektraâs fist his cheek. He yelped in pain and his head hit the wall. The impact was so hard that it made him spit out blood from his mouth.
âWrong answer. Where are they?â She asked in a cold tone that sent chills down his spine.
âI donât know.â
Her eyes burned with anger when she heard his reply. Craig did not get to defend himself when all of a sudden, Elektraâs foot stepped on his wounded leg.
A spine-chilling scream coming from Craig filled the room as she pressed harder on his wound. She was going to get the answers out of him and with the anger she was fuelling with, she would do it in every way to get it.
âWhere are they?â She asked again, emphasizing on every word.
Craig, who looked all high mighty before, now looked like a scared child. Â âI-I donât know.â He stuttered.
âWrong answer.â Elektra replied before putting more pressure on his wound with her combat boot and pressing her free hand on the wound on his shoulder. Craig screamed out painfully, tears escaping from his eyes as he sobbed, begging her to let go.
âYou don't want to know what Iâd do next. Keep telling me lies and I give you pain.Tell me, where are they?â She bellowed.
âI donât know! I really donât know! They always met me and thatâs it! I donât know where they are but I know what theyâre planning.â He said with a scared face. âPlease, please, donât hurt me.â He begged.
âWhat are they planning?â She asked, her eyes glaring at him.
âThey want to get rid of you. They are collecting as many creatures as they can, to get rid of you, and rule the world. Without the Protector, nothing could stop them.â
âWhen?â
âThe night of the second full moon. Theyâre going to gather them at the field at the west end of town, near the Conradâs tower before attacking.â
Craig looked at her with terrified eyes, expecting her to let him go and not hit him. To his surprise, a fist hit his cheek. The crack sound made them realize she had broken his jaw, making him grunt in pain.
Pulling him up with her hands on his collar, she threw a threatening look at him. âYou hurt my friends, you pathetic son of a bitch.â She barked menacingly. âAnd I would assure you that I would hurt in more ways if youâre lying.â
âI-Iâm not!â He exclaimed quickly. âIâm not! I promise!â He begged.
Elektra pushed his body back to the wall and tightened her grip on his collar. âYou tried to kill me, you hurt my friends, and you lied to me. I would kill you.â Craig let out a terrified whine and looked at her, frightened. Elektraâs eyes burned on his. The amount of anger in it could not be described.
Craig closed his eyes, preparing for her to kill him but he felt nothing. Slowly, he opened his eyes to find her looking at him threateningly.
âBut Iâm not a monster. Iâm nothing like you.â
With that, she released his collar and stepped back but not before throwing another punch to his face and his stomach.
Craig yelled in pain before he slipped down to the floor. Elektra turned around, with her mind on Henry. She had to be by his side and made sure he was okay. It was her fault and she needed to make it right. She needed to save him.
âEla!â A startled cry of danger came from Angela. Quickly, Elektra took out the sword from her sheath and turned to block the incoming attack from Craig.
The sound his dagger, which she assumed hidden in his pocket, hit her sword rang in the air. With an unsatisfied look, Craig lifted it away before thrusting to her chest. She did not know what was happening. All she knew was she had to protect herself from him. Elektra lifted her sword, pushing the attack away before sinking her sword in his chest.
She stared at his widened eyes that stayed on her before she saw the life leaving them. His body went limp and fell to the floor with blood, soaking his chest.
Elektra stared at the corpse, surprised, her hands shaking slightly. The sound of Henryâs grunt snapped her out of her thoughts as she pulled the sword out of Craigâs dead body and ran to her friend.
âHow is he?â She asked Angela, as she took Henryâs hand in his. Her eyes scanned his face and saw pain on it. His eyes closed tightly, sweats covering his forehead and making his dark locks stick on it.
âHeâll live...but heâs losing blood.â Angela replied. Even though vampires can heal if their heart was not attacked, still, if losing too much blood, vampires could die.
âThere are blood supplies in the lair.â She informed as she wrapped an arm around Henry and helped him up.
Angela held Henry at the other side and they brought him to Angelaâs car. They laid him gently at the back seat and Elektra jumped in the back with him, as she could not get him out off her sight.
Placing his head gently on her lap, she brushed his sweaty locks away while her other hand held his hand tightly.
âIâm so sorry.â She whispered, as tears rolled down her cheeks.
The sound of the engine starting filled the car and she felt the vehicle move. Bending her body down, she placed a kiss on her forehead before staring at him worriedly. She hoped that heâd live. She prayed heâd survive for she could not live without him. He had been there for her all the time and life without Henry is something she never wanted to experience.
âYouâre not allowed to die, Henry. Donât you dare die on me.â
