“What do you mean?” Elektra asked. Her heart beating rapidly and her hands seemed to be shaking from hearing what Alfred just informed her.

Alfred went to the computer next to the microscope and opened a file that was protected with a password.

“Here…” He called when he unlocked the file and showed it to her. “This is what he was working on before he died. He needed my help on it, that’s how I knew.”

“I knew he was working on something…I just didn’t know what.” Elektra said while her eyes read the document on the screen.

“No one knew…this was top secret, Ela. The special force asked him to work on this and he thought he gave it a try. He just wanted to know if there were any possible way to make them stronger but he would never actually give the drug to them. He knows how the special force works.”

With all the information she taking in, she found her knees go weak, making her to take a seat. This was impossible. How come her father's drug was in the hand of Magnus?

Angela went to her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. The small gesture made her happy that she had those who care about her.

“So, what does this mean? Did someone found out about it?” She asked.

Alfred shook his head and sigh in agony. “I don’t really know…but it’s the same formula…the mixture, the same drug.”

Elektra looked at him expectantly, hoping that he would say those words that she wanted to hear since her dad went missing.

“Maybe this was the reason John was killed.” Alfred said in a soft tone.

Her face dropped and her hope died. Of course, it could never happen.

She snapped out from her thoughts when she felt a hand grabbing hers, holding it tightly. She lifted her head and saw Henry staring at her. He didn’t have to say anything because she knew.

“This changes everything.” Elektra spoke as she stood.

Everyone around her stared at her. They saw the determination in her eyes, the anger, and the rage. Standing in front of them was the Protector, the keeper of peace among the creatures. One thing Magnus needed to know about the Protector; never make her angry and when you hurt the one she loves, she will kill you.

“My father’s death will be avenged. If a war is what Magnus wants, a war he shall get.”

Elektra sighed, as she slowly descended the stairs. Today was a roller coaster of emotions for her. Finding out that Magnus was using her father’s drug didn’t make her happy at all. Her father was smart. That meant that the drug Magnus was using on his troupes was powerful and it would be very hard to stop it from functioning.

Not only that, finding out that Magnus killed her father made it even worse. She was angry and upset. The expectation she had shattered and she knew that there was no way her expectation was going to be true. The flare of rage was burning her. She had to go through all of this; losing her father, losing Daniel and her friends getting hurt, and it all because of Magnus.

She wished she could tie Magnus up and torture him for everything that he had done but it doesn’t work that way. She couldn’t even find him and didn’t even know where he was. How she really wished that she could hurt him and kill him. She needed to do it badly like a vampire starving for blood. She wanted him to suffer. She wanted to hear him scream in pain, she wanted to see his face bloodied, she wanted him to beg to let him go.

"Stop it, Ela." She told herself.

Raising her hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, she shook her thoughts on Protector business off. How she really needed to see Blake now. He would always make her feel better. There just something about him that made her forgets her duties and all the bad things happening. He was her comfort blanket, her favourite book. Just thinking about him made her smile.

I am so whipped, she thought.

With him knowing about her identity made it even better for her to talk to him. She did not have to hide anything from him anymore.

As she entered the kitchen, her smile dropped when her eyes came into vision of her stepsister's hands on the love of her life’s shoulder and her mouth on his.

Elektra froze. She couldn’t breathe. Her stomach felt weird and there was a huge lump in her throat that made her feel like she was suffocating.

She saw how Blake clamped his lips tightly with a disgust face; pushing her away abruptly. That somehow lifted the weird feeling in her stomach. However, she couldn’t erase the picture of Reina kissing Blake. She tried to push it away but she couldn’t and the pain in her heart didn't fade away.

Blake wiped his mouth with his sleeve and during the process his eyes met hers and the colour on his face disappeared.

Before he could call her, she ran. She ran as fast as she could, up the stairs that she was surprised she didn’t trip. She barged into her room and before she could close the door and lock it, he stopped her with his foot.

“Ela, please…” He begged while he tried to get inside her room.

Pushing the door, trying to close it, she replied, “I’m fine, Blake.”

“Ela, just let me explain- “

“You don’t need to explain anything.”

“Ela, let me talk- “

“It’s okay, I’m fine. She’s hot and- “

“Elektra Potter, stop it now! Let me in!”

“No!” Screw it. His fingers and foot could get caught in the door for all she cares. She just couldn’t see him right now.

“Ela!”

“Blake!”

“Damn it, woman! Let me in!”

With her heart in pain, she didn’t have the strength anymore as she stepped back and let him barge into the room.

He entered, panting, looking at her with his worried eyes. “Man, you’re freaking strong.”

Elektra hung her face down, unable to look at him. If she looked, that scene will appear in her head again and it was going to make the pain in her heart even worse.

“Ela…”

“No, it’s fine Blake, really. You guys…you look good together.” She forced out with a fake smile.

Even though she saw how Blake much Blake loathed the kiss, she couldn’t help but let insecurities take over her. Reina was pretty, she was hot and Blake was so handsome. They would make a very good-looking pair. In school, they would be branded as the golden couple.  Instead of her, this plain old Jane, Reina was way better. There’s nothing special about her. She was just Ela.

He was better off without her anyways. Everyone’s better off without her.

“Don’t say that.” The strict tone in his voice made her lift her head and look at him. His eyes showed anger and something else she couldn’t really put a finger on.

“You don’t owe me an explanation, Blake.” She spoke timidly.

“But I do.” He said, taking a few steps closer to her.

“Why? Why do you care so much about giving me an explanation?”

“Because your feelings matter to me and I love you.”

She froze; her eyes grew wide in shock when she heard those three words coming from him. She searched his eyes. He was close to her now. She could see those amazing brown eyes clearly and she saw no hesitation, no lies. She could finally tell the look that he was giving her, the look that she couldn’t figure out for so long; love. He was always looking at her with love in his eyes.

She blinked, her mouth opened to speak but she soon close it again as she was unable to find any words. Her mind was still in shock with the revelation of his feelings.

Sensing how confused and speechless she was, Blake spoke to break the silence.

“I love you more than a friend. I love you, Ela…so much.”

The sincerity was evident in his voice and his eyes, god, his eyes made her shivered at how intense they were. He looked at her with a soft expression on his face, like she was the only thing mattered to him.

She mattered to him.

“Blake…We- I can’t- ”

“I know you’re scared. I’m scared too, Ela. This fear goes both ways. Every night, there is a possibility that you might be gone forever and it freaking scares me …but I would hurt so much more if I couldn’t show you how much I love you and that you didn't know, you know how much I love you. “

He took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a second before opening them and bewitching her again.

“I’m begging you…please.”

Looking at the hopefulness and love in his eyes, how could she say no. A good weird feeling filled her stomach and her heart won’t stop beating rapidly. She felt happy. So happy.

He loved her.

Never would she guess that he actually loved her. Sure, she knew he had feelings for her but he didn’t know that he loved her.

“And I know that you might not love me, but I could tell you like me and have feelings for me….I don’t mean that in a cocky way. I’m just saying… I don’t mind. I’m okay- “ He started rambling when she did not reply him.

She stared at him, fighting the urge to smile. His head hung low with his hand rubbing the back of his neck; he was nervous. She couldn’t help but to think how adorable he was.

“And we could go slow and I’ll take you out on dates and- “

His rambling was cut off when her lips met his. Heck, she didn’t know what she was doing. She never kissed anyone before but at the sight of him being so handsome and adorable, not to mention that he just confessed his love to her, she couldn’t help but to stand on her toes and kiss him.

It was more of a soft peck on his lips, but hey, it was still a kiss and it shocked her to the core when her lips met his.

She pulled back and saw how he froze, looking at her with wide eyes. Needless to say, he was very surprised. The look on his face gave her the urge to laugh.

Before she could even start laughing, his arm went around her waist, pulling her close to him as he kissed her passionately.

The kiss sent tingles over her body, shocking her like electric. It made her close her eyes and clenched a fistful of his shirt as she slowly kissed him back. She didn’t know if she was kissing him right, she tried to mirror how he was kissing her. She got her answer when he pulled her closer till her body touched his.

His kiss sent her to euphoria and creates a bomb of emotion she has never felt before. Her fists were clutching to his shirt, as if she was clutching to her life support. She loved kissing him and she didn’t want this extraordinary feeling to stop. However, she was struggling to keep balance as her legs were getting tired. At this time, she really disliked her height or maybe he was just too freaking tall.

As if he sensed her problem, he lifted her, wrapping her thighs around his waist so that she would be able to kiss him easier and boy, did it make it easier for both of them.

They kissed again and again, softly yet passionately at the same time. Her hand was cupping his cheek while the other played with the hair that was on the nape of his neck. His arm was around her waist while the other one was on her neck, holding her carefully. They were intoxicated with each other. They're in a world of their own.

“Ela, Darcy needs to- Whoa!” Henry yelped when opened the door of her room.

Damn you, Henry.

Groaning, she buried her flushed face in Blake’s neck before whispering to him to put her down.

She sent a glare to Henry who was looking at them with amusement in his eyes and a sly smile.

“Well…look at that. I thought I heard something but I didn’t assume it was you…and man, Ela…that was something.” Henry said.

Oh, how she wished the ground would swallow her now.

“What do you need?” She asked, her face still red from embarrassment. She glanced at Blake and saw that he looked flushed as well.

Fighting the urge to laugh, Henry replied, “Darcy needs to know when is Kate leaving. By the look of it, she won’t be leaving anytime soon.” Henry smirked.

She threw him a death glare before turning to a flushed Blake for an answer.

“Uh…is your stepmom going to be here for dinner?” He asked her shyly.

“No. She’s taking the girls out to a friend’s dinner party.”

Nodding, Blake smiled shyly with his hand rubbing the back of his neck. “Well, are you okay if I take you and the girls out for pizza?”

“Yeah, I’m fine with it as long as it won’t be a trouble for you.”

“No…it’s no problem at all.” He replied and looked at her with a lovingly.

Oh, darn it. She was going to swoon from that look.

“Look at you two. So adorable even adorable bunnies couldn’t keep up with the adorableness.”

Blake blushed while Elektra rolled her eyes. “Still here Henry?” She asked, with her eyes still on Blake.

“If you just want to be alone and have- “

“Henry!”

Henry raised his eyebrows and held up his hands in surrender. “Okay, okay…the cock-blocker is leaving.” He said, closing the door of her room.

Elektra gasped and she could hear he old sly man laugh. She turned to Blake to see him burying his face in his hand, his shoulders shaking as he tried not to laugh.

“I swear…that old geezer! He’s like the most embarrassing brother!” She groaned. “I’m so sorry about that.”

Blake couldn’t hold back his laugh as he laughed heartedly, looking at her with his eyes twinkling. “No…it’s fine.” He said.

He was quiet for a moment before he started speaking softly. “I’m sorry I got carried away with that kiss…I-uh lost control.”

She shook her head, a blush appearing on her cheeks. “Um…it’s fine. “ She wanted to say that she didn’t mind him kissing her like that but she didn’t want to sound like a wanton lady.

“I want you to feel comfortable with me. I don’t want to force you to do the things that you don’t want to.” Blake said.

She looked away; her eyes suddenly found the floor interesting. “I’m always comfortable with you…and I don’t mind…No, I-I don’t mean that! No…not that… I do want…you know, just not that…oh god, this is embarrassing and I should really stop talking now.”

She heard him chuckle as she felt him wrapping an arm around her waist and his lips on her head. “You’re adorable.”

His words made the blush on her face even worse. Not wanting him to see how red her face was, she buried her face on his torso.

“So…I’m your boyfriend?” He asked with a tinge of hesitation.

She smiled, tugging on his dark blue shirt. “You’re my boyfriend and I’m your girlfriend.” She said softly.

She heard him release a breath and it made her realize of his insecurities. He didn’t need to feel that with her. Her heart was his.

“I love you.”

She felt him froze as he pulled back and look at her, his eyes locking with hers.

Smiling, she touched his cheek gently, allowing her thumb to caress his stubble. “I’m not saying it just because you said it. I’m saying it because I do, Blake… I do love you.”

With her words, she saw him smile, that smile that made her heart warm and the butterflies in her stomach flutters. She never thought she could see him happier.

He pulled her into his embrace and they just stood like that for a while, with his arms around her and her forehead on his chest. It was the best feeling in the world and she never wanted to leave.
