THIRTY ONE
Stuck Up Meets Crazy. [COMPLETED]
25 weeks pregnant but Cara feels it has been forever, she can't want to see her babies. Although it is fun bossing people around and insulting them then blaming it on her mood swings.
As much as she wants to see her babies, there are other times that Cara doesn't want the babies to come out. Like the time she found it hard to learn how to stop a baby from choking during her birthing class. She cried because she felt she was already a bad mother even before the babies were born.
Then there was the time when she watched a live birth on YouTube and she freaked out, told Xander that she was sorry but the babies are going to have to stay in there forever. Even though it is impossible, at that time, she meant it.
Today is one of those days she wants the pregnancy phase to end, she is trying to get in her pink body con dress and it's a struggle. She had tried three different dresses before this and it's has been a disaster, either the zips rip out or the button pops out.
"Xander," Cara walks over to his desk where he is scanning and adding to the list made by Cara of things to get for the babies' nursery.
"Babe," Cara calls again.
Soon as he gives her his attention, she turns around, "The zip please," Cara says, gesturing to her back.
Xander looks at the dress on her and from where he is sitting, he already knows that it will be difficult to zip it up. He shakes off the temptation to say something, as he did the last two dresses. He is going to at least trying first. He pulls the chair back and stands up.
Soon as his hands made contact, a shiver went down Cara's spine, Xander noticing, he lets fingers linger on her lower back for long in pretense to be trying to pull the zip.
Realizing he is teasing, "Xander," Cara whines, closing her eyes at the feel of his subtle touch.
"What? I am just trying to help." Xander says feigning innocence.
"No, you are trying to get yourself laid," Cara says turning to him.
"Either way, I am doing you a favor," Xander says cockily.
"Hmm, so you are doing me a favor by having sex with me?" Cara folds her arms and raises her eyebrows.
"I read in one of my books that sex helps with childbirth."
"I bet you did. And it's funny that you think that when I am in pains during delivery, I won't ensure you are in pains too." Cara smirks before turning. "Cassie's waiting for me, I need to hurry so help."
"Why don't you try clothes that Sarah and Jane brought this month? This has gotten small," Xander says letting go of the zip.
Cara turns to him, frustration in her voice. "Did you just call me fat?"
Xander knows he shouldn't have but a laugh escapes his lips but he is quick to comport himself. He places his hands on her face, "If you were fat, you will be the most beautiful fattest woman ever."
"Is that supposed to be a compliment because all I heard was the word fat?"Cara frowns.
"You heard that over beautiful, come on," He is trying to hold his laugh and this is pissing Cara off.
"You might have as well have called me ugly since your aim is to get pissed."
"Oh Jesus," Xander says under his breath.
"What, I am annoying?" Cara glares at him.
Xander decides that talking is more dangerous, so he keeps quiet.
"So you have nothing to say? Why don't you keep talking, you were doing great." Cara snaps. She turns back to the mirror and groans in frustration.
"You know what? I am not going anywhere." Cara says heading to the closet where she can change into a comfortable hoodie and sweatpants.
"But Cassie is waiting for you," Xander calls out.

An hour passed, after changing Cara decided to make herself comfortable under layers of sheets and a blanket.
"Hey," Xander calls out to Cara. Hearing his call, she pulls the blanket over her head.
"Hey," Xander repeats, pulling out the blanket Cara is using to cover herself.
"What is wrong with you? I heard you this first time," Cara says as she tries to drag the blanket but Xander's grip is firm, so she gives up and lies down. "Don't you want to see this fat lady wants to sleep?"
She curls up on the bed trying to ignore the absence of the blanket.
"I think you should try the dress on again."
"And why would I do that?"
"I must have tried zipping it wrong," Xander says, realizing how dumb he sounds as soon as those words roll out of his mouth.
"I didn't know that there's a wrong way of zipping a dress, you pull that's it," Cara says. She tries sitting up. Xander lends her a hand, which she drags to sit up.
"You will be surprised."
Cara chuckles, "Stop being a weirdo and sit for a sec," Cara taps the side of the bed. Xander takes a seat at the edge of the bed "I should be the one apologizing for acting like a big baby earlier, of course, I don't fit a dress, I am pregnant. I shouldn't have snapped at you." Cara pouts.
"You look hot when you are pissed, like a dragon spitting fire," Xander says dramatically.
"Nice analogy." Cara comments.
"Now seriously, you should try the dress on again."
Cara looks at him suspiciously, "What did you do?"
~~~
"See, my mistake," Xander says zipping the pink dress with ease.
Cara looks at her outfit which miraculously fits like a glove In the mirror. She turns to Xander knowing full well what he has done, "So you were zipping it the wrong way?" Cara says, trying not to smile.
"Yeah," Xander nods, feigning innocence.
"Do you want to know what I think? I think that you ordered my exact dress in a different size."
Xander scoffs, "That's insane,"
Cara shakes her head, "Is it?"
Cara raises her legs a little bit to be able to put her arms around Xander, she pulls him in for a kiss. "Thank you," She mutters on his lips.
Xavier walks into the sitting room with his head down, pressing his phone. He suddenly pauses when at the corner of his eyes, he spots Cassie seated.
They haven't been in a room alone since their argument, Cara or Xander are always there to reduce the awkwardness.
Xavier tries to walk out slowly before she notices but she already has, "Come on, we don't have to do this. Besides it's your house, I should be the one leaving." Cassie says as she attempts to stand up.
"No, no, "Xavier says immediately, "I don't want you to leave."
"Cool, then we will sit in a room together as I wait for Cara to come downstairs. " Cassie says.
Xavier takes a seat on the couch across from Cassie's. Cassie forces a smile, "See, not awkward at all." She says with a deep voice.
"Yeah, totally," Xavier agrees.
Both are lying to themselves, it is awkward.
Minutes go by and the pair are taking turns to gawk at each other. If one catches the other, they put their ends down and pretend not to be staring.
"This is awkward," Cassie breaks the uncomfortable silence by admitting the situation.
"You are right and it shouldn't be. We are both adults,"
"Yeah, who have seen each other naked countless times."
"We had our fun and I ruined it by catching feelings."
Cassie interrupts Xavier, "Whoa, whoa, you didn't catch feelings." Cassie shakes her head.
"What will you call a man who gets sex every day but is willing to ruin that to just have a date with the girl?"
"Someone who really likes dates," Cassie jokes.
"Very funny," Xavier says with a smile.
The room becomes silent once again, wasn't have uncomfortable as the last time.
"Were we friends before we started jumping each other's bones?" Cassie asks breaking the silence.
"I don't think so, I remember always flirting with you, sooo..." Xavier drags.
"That's it," Cassie says like someone who has just come across a wild discovery, "That's why we are awkward around each other, if we are not having sex, we don't know to say to each other."
"I suppose."
"We should go on that date as friends. We can get to know each other." Cassie purposes.
"I really don't know, I don't do dates." Xavier teases.
"Fuck you," Cassie mutters.
"You have countless times, and it was good."
"Shut up," Cassie laughs, "So, Friday night, me and you."
"Well okay, since you are that desperate." He mocks.
