Chapter 1012
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
He could no longer waste time with Francine so calmly. His eyes turned red as he shouted in the direction of Stefanâs room. âStefan, you coward! Did you hear? Your mother wants to kill Renee. Why are you still hiding and doing nothing like a coward?â
âShut up!â
Francine was afraid that Stefan would come out when he heard it, so she lowered her voice and said, âIâll give you a chance since you want to play the hero and save the damsel in distress. Sheâs now in Warehouse Seven. You may be able to save her life if youâre fast enough.â
âThat was direct!â
Jovan did not expect Francine to tell him Reneeâs whereabouts so straightforwardly. A tinge of complicated feeling arose in his eyes. âIt looks like youâre not so cruel as I think. Youâre considered a good mother-in-law. At least youâre more open-minded than my mother.â
âHumph! Youâre overthinking. I wanted to get rid of you sooner by telling you about her whereabouts. I wasnât trying to be kind. Get lost now!â
Francine would never admit that she was kind to Renee. She felt like she had to suffer greatly, given how wicked of a woman Renee was.
On the other hand, Jovan did not delay anymore. He turned around and left Hunt Villa, and sped toward Warehouse Seven like a bat out of hell.
Francine heaved a long sigh. She thought that this incident was finally over, but she did not expect that Stefan had long heard her conversation with Jovan.
Stefan groped around and went out before he used his phone to get a cab. He then rushed toward Warehouse Seven.
It was now late at night.
Warehouse Seven was located in the countryside outside the city near the river surrounding the river. It was remote, and its terrain was very dangerous.
âHelp⦠Help me!â
Seraphinaâs weak voice resonated in the dark warehouse.
Under Reneeâs orders, the men left the scene after tying Seraphina up alone in the warehouse.
It was a special circumstance, so Renee didnât let Seraphina go to ensure her safety. She decided to ask a passer-byâs help, whoâd untie Seraphina the next early morning.
After all the hysterical screaming, Seraphina grew weary. Her voice grew softer.
At first, she was pretty scared in the pitch darkness. She gradually became numb.
âRenee, are you in there?â
When Jovan arrived at the warehouse, he kicked the door open and asked nervously.
âWho⦠Who are you?â
When Seraphina heard someoneâs voice, she woke up with a start and looked toward the door of the warehouse.
âRenee, wait. Iâm coming for you!â
When Jovan heard her voice, he thought it was Renee. He turned on the torchlight on his phone and rushed toward Seraphina.
âJovan?â
âSeraphina?â
At last, both of them were slightly surprised when they saw each otherâs faces.
âWhy are you here? Where did you leave Renee?!â
He rudely grabbed her hand and interrogated her fiercely.
