Chapter 1076
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Stefan had always had a great sense of propriety. Even if it was Seraphina, the person he trusted the most, he would feel uncomfortable when she touched his face or hair.
Naturally, he disliked those female nurses who took care of him.
âIs that so? Why do I feel you like my touch? Be good⦠There, there.â Her lips curved into a cheeky smile as she rubbed his hair and pinched his cheeks as if trying to provoke a sleeping beast.
She thought he would be outraged, but he just said calmly,â Itâs very strange, but youâre the only exception.â
Renee was speechless.
âSo⦠the person who takes care of me has to be you,â Stefan declared arrogantly.
Amazement dawned on her, and she couldnât speak.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you unwilling?â
âNo, Iâm just curious. Did you recall something?â Renee could feel him getting closer and closer to her, and she wondered if he remembered her. If not, why was she special to him?
âShould I recall anything?â Stefan asked in return.
After a brief silence, Renee chuckled bitterly. âIâd rather you donât remember me⦠Iâm not a good person.â
Stefan did not ask further because he knew that she would not tell him the truth even if he did. He had to look for the answers on his own, regardless of whether he wanted to know them or not.
âHelp me shave my beard.â He said suddenly. He was someone who took good care of his appearance, and always wanted to look smart and tidy â he rarely allowed himself to become this unkempt. However, he had neither washed his face nor shaved his beard for the past few days, as if he was an artist who had lost his passion.
When he heard Reneeâs voice, suddenly his world had colour again.
âYou⦠You want me to shave your beard for you?â Renee scratched her head awkwardly. âWell, itâs rather shameful for me to admit it, but I did a lot of bad things and even challenged a martial arts studio. I also carried an AK-47 once. Some might call me manly, but Iâve never shaved a beard before.â
âIs it inconvenient for you?â Stefan turned towards her. Although he could not see her, he could feel that she was in a dilemma.
âNo, itâs not, but⦠Iâve never shaved a beard. Iâm afraid I might not do a good job.â
âItâs fine. I donât care how it turns out.â
âHah, is that so? You said it yourself.â Renee rubbed her hands eagerly and chuckled wickedly like a villain. She went to the washroom and found a razor, which was the most basic type with only a blade.
âCome on, Iâm ready.â Renee raised the razor eagerly.
âIâm ready too.â He closed his eyes and waited for her, looking like he was about to give his life for a heroic cause.
âHmmâ¦â As Renee got closer to him, she was mesmerised by his handsome face again. In her opinion, it deserved endless praise.
